Modified partially wide tangents technique in post-mastectomy radiotherapy for patients with left-sided breast cancer

Background The role of internal mammary nodes （IMN） irradiation for breast cancer patients after mastectomy remains controversial. This study aimed to compare different techniques for radiation of the chest wall （CW） and IMN post-mastectomy for left-breast cancer patients in terms of dose homogeneity within planning target volume （PTV） and dose to critical *** Thirty patients underwent CT simulation, while CW, IMN, left lung, heart and contralateral breast were contoured. Three three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy （3D-CRT） techniques, namely, standard tangents, partially wide tangents （PWT）, and modified PWT techniques plus intensity modulated radiotherapy （IMRT） technique have been used to radiate CW and IMN. In addition to the target coverage and dose homogeneity, we also evaluated the dose to the critical structures including heart, left lung and contralateral *** All three 3D-CRT techniques provided satisfactory coverage regarding total PTV. The PWT and the modified PWT gave better coverage of IMN PTV with V47.5 of （96.83±4.56）% and （95.19±3.90）% compared to standard tangents （（88.16±7.77）%）, P 〈0.05. The standard tangents also contributed the biggest IMN VD105%, VD110%, VD115% and VD120%. The lowest mean dose of the heart was achieved by the modified PWT （（8.47±2.30） Gy）, compared with PWT （（11.97±3.54）Gy） and standard tangents （（11.18±2.53） Gy）. The mean dose of lung and contralateral breast with the modified PWT was significantly lower than those with PWT. Comparing IMRT with the modified PWT, both techniques provided satisfactory coverage. The conformity indexes （CI） with IMRT （CI1： 0.71±0.02; CI2： 0.64±0.02） were better than those with the modified PWT （CI1： 0.50±0.02; CI2： 0.45±0.02）. The mean dose, V5, V10 and V5-10 of heart and left lung with the modified PWT were significantly lower than those with the IMRT. The mean dose and VD2% of contralateral breast with the modified PWT were not significantly different from the IMRT （

Background Hybrid procedures including debranching of visceral and renal arteries followed by endovascular exclusion of the thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm （TAAA） have recently been proposed as a less invasive alternative to conventional TAAA surgery. This study aimed to evaluate the immediate and long-term outcomes of hybrid procedures for TAAA in high-risk patients. Methods Between September 1998 and May 2012, 32 high-risk TAAA patients （five females, median age 61.5 years） underwent hybrid procedures at a single institution. Simultaneous approach and staged approach were performed on the basis of patients＇ conditions. Follow-up computed tomography angiography （CTA） was routinely performed before discharge and at 6, 12 months and annually thereafter. Results Procedural success was achieved in all cases. The median hospital stay was （21.5＋2.3） days, and the median procedure time was （420＋31） minutes. Blood loss averaged （2100_＋261） ml. A total of 124 visceral artery bypasses was performed. Two patients （6.3%） died within 30 days. One patient exhibited complete paraplegia （3.1%）. The visceral graft patency was 96.1% at 3 years. All-cause survival rates were 93.8%, 87.5%, 81.3% and 53.1% at 1, 2, 3 and 5 years, respectively. No patient died due to aortic events. The freedom rates from aortic events were 96.9%, 93.6%, 87.5%, 68.8% at 1,2, 3 and 5 years, respectively. Conclusions The results of visceral hybrid repair for high-risk patients with complex TAAAs are encouraging. However, the procedure is still a significant physiological insult to patients. Until branched and fenestrated endovascular repair become more common, hybrid procedure will continue to have a role in high-risk patients.

Offwhite pure Fe2P207 was synthesized through solid phase reaction using Fe203 and NH4H2PO4 in argon atmosphere. The reaction products of Fe203 and NHaH2PO4 at a series of temperatures from 400 to 900 ℃ were characterized by XRD. Comparison and analysis of XRD patterns of resultant products indicated well-crystallized Fe2P207 could be obtained over 630 ℃ and Fe2P207 prepared at 700 ℃ was triclinic in cell type. Comparison of the cell parameters proved that the as-prepared Fe2P207 belonged to β- Fe2P207 in crystal phase and SEM showed its size distribution was 0.5-2 μm.

Effect of Y_(2)O_(3) on microstructure and properties of CoCrFeNiTiNb high entropy alloy coating on Ti-6Al-4V surface by laser cladding

The effects of Y_(2)O_(3) on the microstructure, microhardness, wear resistance, high-temperature oxidation resistance, hot corrosion resistance, and electrochemical corrosion behaviour of CoCrFeNiTiNb high entropy alloy coatings formed on Ti-6Al-4V alloy surfaces were studied. The results show that the addition of Y_(2)O_(3) changes the proportion of the phase but does not change its type. The average grain size is only 1/4.7 of that of the high entropy alloy(HEA) coating, and the fine-grained strengthening leads to increases in the microhardness and wear resistance of 21.8% and 26.9%, respectively. The addition of Y_(2)O_(3) enhances the denseness and bonding properties of the oxide and corrosion product layers, reducing the oxidation and hot corrosion rates by 60.3% and 40.3%, respectively. The addition of Y_(2)O_(3) doubles the corrosion resistance which is attributed to the refinement of the grains, the increased proportion of HCP and TiN, and the weakening of galvanic coupling corrosion.

农田生态系统碳通量变化主要由作物光合作用和农田的呼吸作用引起。在陆地生态系统中,准确评估玉米农田生态系统的呼吸作用产生的碳排放量对全球碳通量的研究意义重大。使用甘肃省会宁县大山川村(属陇中半干旱区)玉米农田生态系统在2020年11月至2021年10月的涡度和土壤水分及温度监测数据,分析了玉米农田生态系统呼吸速率(R_(eco))的日平均变化和呼吸敏感性指数(Q_(10))在生长季内的月平均变化,探讨R_(eco)对温度的响应,并用不同模型进行拟合评估。陇中半干旱区玉米农田生态系统呼吸速率在年内呈单峰变化,日均最大呼吸速率11.49μmol/(m^(2)·s),相比呼吸速率对空气温度(Ta)与不同深度土壤温度(Ts)的响应,深度20 cm处的土壤温度(Ts_(20))对该地区R_(eco)全年拟合效果最佳。Q_(10)指数在生长季内表现出单峰型变化,最大值出现在8月(5.52μmol/(m^(2)·s)。通过各个模型拟合得出陇中地区玉米农田生态系统年呼吸碳排放量介于863.71~990.18 g C/m^(2),选择拟合效果最好的模型(Q_(10)模型),在考虑参数时变性对Q_(10)模型优化后,Q_(10)模型拟合精度得到大幅度提升,年碳排放量估计值由868.57 g C/m^(2)提高至1094.48 g C/m^(2),更加接近观测值(1110.28 g C/m^(2))。R_(eco)在土壤水分低于0.16 m^(3)/m^(3)时(出现在12-2月)受到抑制。

High-sensitivity radio-frequency optically pumped magnetometers (RF-OPMs), working without cryogenic condition, play a critical role in magnetic field imaging(MFI) at low frequencies(e.g., 100 Hz to 1 MHz). We introduce the principle of operation and recent developments of RF-OPMs and focus on reviewing the MFI applications in magnetic induction tomography, ultralow-field magnetic resonance imaging, and magnetic particle imaging. For the applications of RF-OPMs, ranging from industrial monitoring to medical imaging and security screening, the unshielded and portable RF-OPMs(and RF-OPM array)techniques are still under the further development for detecting and scanning over the target object for accomplishing the final three-dimensional imaging, and thus extremely require the abilities of active compensation of the ambient magnetic field and sensor miniaturization in the future.
