Solar active region （AR） 11283 is a very magnetically complex region and it has produced many eruptions. However, there exists a non-eruptive filament in the plage region just next to an eruptive one in the AR, which gives us an opportunity to perform a comparison analysis of these two filaments. The coronal magnetic field extrapolated using our CESE-MHD-NLFFF code reveals that two magnetic flux ropes （MFRs） exist in the same extrapolation box supporting these two filaments, respectively. Analysis of the magnetic field shows that the eruptive MFR contains a bald-patch separatrix surface （BPSS） co- spatial very well with a pre-eruptive EUV sigmoid, which is consistent with the BPSS model for coronal sigmoids. The magnetic dips of the non-eruptive MFRs match Hα observation of the non-eruptive filament strikingly well, which strongly supports the MFR-dip model for filaments. Compared with the non-eruptive MFR/filament （with a length of about 200 Mm）, the eruptive MFR/filament is much smaller （with a length of about 20 Mm）, but it contains most of the magnetic free energy in the extrapolation box and holds a much higher free energy density than the non-eruptive one. Both the MFRs are weakly twisted and cannot trigger kink instability. The AR eruptive MFR is unstable because its axis reaches above a critical height for torus instability, at which the overlying closed arcades can no longer confine the MFR stably. On the contrary, the quiescent MFR is very firmly held by its overlying field, as its axis apex is far below the torus-instability threshold height. Overall, this comparison investigation supports that an MFR can exist prior to eruption and the ideal MHD instability can trigger an MFR eruption.

Evolutionary algorithms (EAs) were shown to be effective for complex constrained optimization problems. However, inflexible exploration in general EAs would lead to losing the global optimum nearby the ill-convergence regions. In this paper, we propose an iterative dynamic diversity evolutionary algorithm (IDDEA) with contractive subregions guiding exploitation through local extrema to the global optimum in suitable steps. In IDDEA, a novel optimum estimation strategy with multi-agents evolving diversely is suggested to efficiently compute dominance trend and establish a subregion. In addition, a subregion converging iteration is designed to redistrict a smaller subregion in current subregion for next iteration, which is based on a special dominance estimation scheme. Meanwhile, an infimum penalty function is embedded into IDDEA to judge agents and penalize adaptively the unfeasible agents with the lowest fitness of feasible agents. Furthermore, several engineering design optimization problems taken from the specialized literature are successfully solved by the present algorithm with high reliable solutions.

The reactive Sn63Pb37 spreading on patterned film structures was examined in a reducing atmosphere （H2 5%＋Ar 95%）. Liquid solder spreading was observed to follow the wheel pattern made of Au/Cu thin film. At the center, a liquid cap was formed around the hub by viscous spreading of the liquid front. Ahead of the main viscous flow front, a liquid film was found to be extended on thin Au-Cu lines at a fast rate to a great distance by rapid Sn-Au chemical reaction.

Topographic Characteristics for the Geomorphologic Zones in the Northwestern Edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

Based on geomorphologic and digital elevation model(DEM) data, the topographic characteristics of the northwestern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau are analyzed. Five representative peaks are first determined according to the topographic profile maps for the ridge and piedmont lines, and then the topographic gradient characteristics are analyzed according to the representative topographic profile acquisition *** on the geomorphologic database data, the regions between the ridge and the piedmont lines are divided into four geomorphologic zones; and the topographic characteristics are finally analyzed for the different geomorphologic zones regions using the DEM data. The research results show that from the piedmont to the ridge, there exist four geomorphologic zones: arid, fluvial, periglacial and glacial. The arid has the lowest elevation, topographic gradient, relief and slope characteristics. The fluvial has lower elevation and the highest topographic gradient, but with lower relief and slope characteristics. With higher elevation, the periglcial has lower topographic gradient, but the highest relief and slope characteristics. The glacial has the highest elevation with higher topographic gradient, relief and slope characteristics.

Antarctic Survey Telescopes（AST3） are designed to be fully robotic telescopes at Dome A,Antarctica,which aim for highly efficient time-domain sky surveys as well as rapid response to special transient events（e.g.,gamma-ray bursts,near-Earth asteroids,supernovae,etc.）.Unlike traditional observations,a well-designed real-time survey scheduler is needed in order to implement an automatic survey in a very efficient,reliable and flexible way for the unattended *** present a study of the survey strategy for AST3 and implementation of its survey scheduler,which is also useful for other survey projects.

Identification of loci and candidate genes controlling kernel weight in barley based on a population for which whole genome assemblies are available for both parents

Kernel weight(KW), together with kernel number per unit area, determines yield of cereal crops. Here,two barley recombinant inbred lines(RILs) populations with a shared parent were used to identify loci controlling KW. One is Baudin/AWCS276(BA) for which a linkage map was available. Several largeeffect QTL controlling KW were detected in this population. Another is Morex/AWCS276(MA). A linkage map with 5273 makers formed 1454 clusters, was constructed by the genotyping by sequence(GBS) data of 201 RILs from this population. A single marker was selected to represent each of the clusters and the linkage map constructed with these markers covers a total length of 1022.4 c M with an average interval of approximately 0.7 cM between loci. Three of the large-effect loci controlling KW(located on 2 HL, 6 HL,and 7 HL, respectively) identified from the BA population were also detected in the MA population under different environments. The locus on 6 HL was detected in each of the experiments conducted for both populations thus was selected for developing near isogenic lines(NILs). Apart from KW, the two isolines for each pair of the putative NILs obtained showed no significant difference for any of the morphological characteristics assessed. The average difference in KW between the isolines for all the NILs obtained was about 15% based on assessments under both glasshouse and field conditions. Taken advantage that high quality genome assemblies for both Morex and AWCS276 are available, we identified candidate genes underlying two of the three loci based on an orthologous analysis. The NILs developed and the candidate genes identified in this study should facilitate the cloning and functional analysis of genes regulating KW in barley.

Dear Editor, Histone deacetylases (HDACs) are a family of enzymes that remove acetyl groups on histone and non-histone proteins, thereby playing a vital role in the modulation of gene expression and protein activity. Eighteen HDACs have been identified in human and subdivided into four classes including I, II (Ila, lib), III and IV (Seto et al., 2014). Among them, HDAC6 is a unique lib HD AC with dominant cytoplasmic localization and two functional catalytic domains. Besides the functions for deacetylation of histone, and modulation of a-tubulin, HSP90 and cortactin, HDAC6 also participates in protein trafficking and degradation, cell shape and migration (Valenzuela-Fernandez et al., 2008). The deregulation of HDAC6 is related to various diseases, such as neurodegenerative diseases, cancer and pathological autoimmune response (Batchu et al., 2016). Hence, it is especially important for directly controlling cellular HDAC6 protein levels to achieve therapeutic purposes. The traditional approaches of red u ci ng cellular protein levels mainly rely on genetic modifications, such as RNA interference, transcription activator-like effector nucleases, recombination-based gene knockout and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR-Cas9)(Boettcher et al., 2015). However, these approaches have failed to a certain degree to achieve acute and reversible changes of gene function. Furthermore, the complications of potential genetic compensation and/or spontaneous mutations arising in geneknockout models may lead to misinterpretations (Davisson etal., 2012;El-Brolosy etal., 2017). Therefore, it is urgent for developing a rapid, robust, and reversible approach to directly modulate HDAC6 protein levels.

The adjustable intermediate binding capacity in electrocatalytic carbon dioxide(CO_(2))reduction is critical for varying the reaction pathways to desired ***,we first report the synthesis of boron-doped amorphous zinc oxide with(B-a-ZnO-Sb)or without antimony nanoparticles embedding(B-a-ZnO)via one-step wet chemical method,which is easy to scale up by enlarging the vessel and increasing *** successfully realizes the product switching from CO on B-a-ZnO to formate on *** experimental and theoretical results reveal that Sb weakens the charge interaction on Zn *** on the moderate adsorption of*COOH and strong adsorption of*OCHO and*HCOOH for B-a-ZnO,the foreign Sb weakens the adsorption of these intermediates and brings about a favor formate production instead of *** work points out a new direction for the synthesis of amorphous ZnO-based catalysts and provides advanced insights into the aimed selectivity switch for CO_(2)reduction by electronic effect.
