Photoelectric synaptic devices have been considered as one of the key components in artificial neuromorphic systems due to their excellent capability to emulate the functions of visual neurons,such as light perception and image ***,we demonstrate an optically-stimulated artificial synapse with a clear photoresponse from ultraviolet to visible light,which is established on a novel heterostructure consisting of monocrystalline Cs2AgBiBr6 perovskite and indium–gallium–zinc oxide(IGZO)thin *** compared with pure IGZO,the heterostructure significantly enhances the photoresponse and corresponding synaptic plasticity of the devices,which originate from the superior visible absorption of single-crystal Cs2AgBiBr6 and effective interfacial charge transfer from Cs2AgBiBr6 to IGZO.A variety of synaptic behaviors are realized on the fabricated thin-film transistors,including excitatory postsynaptic current,paired pulse facilitation,short-term,and long-term ***,an artificial neural network is simulated based on the photonic potentiation and electrical depression effects of synaptic devices,and an accuracy rate up to 83.8%±1.2%for pattern recognition is *** finding promises a simple and efficient way to construct photoelectric synaptic devices with tunable spectrum for future neuromorphic applications.

Spatial variability of soil properties in red soil and its implications for site-specific fertilizer management

Assessing spatial variability and mapping of soil properties constitute important prerequisites for soil and crop management in agricultural areas. To explore the relationship between soil spatial variability and land management, 256 samples were randomly collected at two depths (surface layer 0–20 cm and subsurface layer 20–40 cm) under different land use types and soil parent materials in Yujiang County, Jiangxi Province, a red soil region of China. The pH, soil organic matter (SOM), total nitrogen (TN), cation exchange capacity (CEC), and base saturation (BS) of the soil samples were examined and mapped. The results indicated that soils in Yujiang were acidified, with an average pH of 4.87 (4.03–6.46) in the surface layer and 4.99 (4.03–6.24) in the subsurface layer. SOM and TN were significantly higher in the surface layer (27.6 and 1.50 g kg–1, respectively) than in the subsurface layer (12.1 and 0.70 g kg–1, respectively), while both CEC and BS were low (9.0 and 8.0 cmol kg–1, 29 and 38% for surface and subsurface layers, respectively). Paddy soil had higher pH (mean 4.99) than upland and forest soils, while soil derived from river alluvial deposits (RAD) had higher pH (mean 5.05) than the other three parent materials in both layers. Geostatistical analysis revealed that the best fit models were exponential for pH and TN, and spherical for BS in both layers, while spherical and Gaussian were the best fitted for SOM and CEC in the surface and subsurface layers. Spatial dependency varied from weak to strong for the different soil properties in both soil layers. The maps produced by selecting the best predictive variables showed that SOM, TN, and CEC had moderate levels in most parts of the study area. This study highlights the importance of site-specific agricultural management and suggests guidelines for appropriate land management decisions.

Association of A Common Haplotype of Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 1α With Type 2 Diabetes in Chinese Population

Objective To analyze the association of variants of hepatocyte nuclear factor-1α （HNF-1α） gene with type 2 diabetes in Chinese population. Methods In 152 unrelated type 2 diabetes patients and 93 unrelated controls, eleven single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs） were identified and genotyped. Statistical analyses were performed to investigate whether these SNPs were associated with diabetes status in our samples. Results In the individual SNP study, no SNP differed significantly in frequency between type 2 diabetes patients and controls. In the haplotype analysis, two haplotype blocks were identified. In haplotype block 1, no evidence was found between common HNF-1α haplotypes and type 2 diabetes. However, in haplotype block 2, a common haplotype GCGC formed by four tagging SNPs （tSNPs） was found to be associated with decreased risk of type 2 diabetes （odds ratio [OR] 0.6011, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.4138-0.8732, P=0.0073, empirical P=0.0511, permutation test）. A similar trend was also observed in the diplotype analysis, indicating that the increasing copy number of the haplotype GCGC was associated with the decreased frequency of diabetes （P=0.0193）. Conclusion The results of this study provide evidence that the haplotype of HNF-1α decreases the risk of type 2 diabetes in Chinese individuals.

Boosting lithium storage performance of Si nanoparticles via thin carbon and nitrogen/phosphorus co-doped two-dimensional carbon sheet dual encapsulation

Silicon(Si)is a promising anode candidate for next-generation lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),but it suffers from poor electronic conductivity and dramatic volume variation during cycling,which poses a critical challenge for stable battery *** mitigate these issues simultaneously,we propose a"double carbon synergistic encapsulation"strategy,namely thin carbon shell and nitrogen/phosphorus co-doped two-dimensional(2D)carbon sheet dual encapsulate Si nanoparticles(denoted as 2D NPC/C@Si).This double carbon structure can serve as a conductive medium and buffer matrix to accommodate the volume expansion of Si nanoparticles and enable fast electron/ion transport,which promotes the formation of a stable solid electrolyte interphase film during *** structural advantages,the resulting 2 D NPC/C@Si electrode demonstrates a high reversible capacity of592 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.2 A·g^(-1) with 90.5%excellent capacity retention after 100 cycles,outstanding rate capability(148 mAh·g^(-1) at 8 A·g^(-1)),and superior long-term cycling stability(326 mAh·g^(-1) at 1 A·g^(-1) for 500 cycles,86%capacity retention).Our findings elucidate the development of high-performance Si@C composite anodes for advanced LTBs.

MYC promotes global transcription in part by controlling P-TEFb complex formation via DNA-binding independent inhibition of CDK9 SUMOylation

MYC is an oncogenic transcription factor with a novel role in enhancing global transcription when overexpressed. However, how MYC promotes global transcription remains controversial. Here, we used a series of MYC mutants to dissect the molecular basis for MYC-driven global transcription. We found that MYC mutants deficient in DNA binding or known transcriptional activation activities can still promote global transcription and enhance serine 2 phosphorylation(Ser2P) of the RNA polymerase(Pol) II Cterminal domain(CTD), a hallmark of active elongating RNA Pol II. Two distinct regions within MYC can promote global transcription and Ser2P of Pol II CTD. The ability of various MYC mutants to promote global transcription and Ser2P correlates with their ability to suppress CDK9 SUMOylation and enhance positive transcription elongation factor b(P-TEFb) complex formation. We showed that MYC suppresses CDK9 SUMOylation by inhibiting the interaction between CDK9 and SUMO enzymes including UBC9 and PIAS1. Furthermore, MYC's activity in enhancing global transcription positively contributes to its activity in promoting cell proliferation and transformation. Together, our study demonstrates that MYC promotes global transcription, at least in part, by promoting the formation of the active P-TEFb complex via a sequence-specific DNA-binding activity-independent manner.

Controlled release behaviors of chitosan/α,β- glycerophosphate thermo-sensitive hydrogels

Chitosan/α,β-glycerophosphate （CS/α,β-GP） thermo-sensitive hydrogels presented flowable solution state at low temperature and semisolid hydrogel when the ambient temperature increased. In this research, different concentrations of metronida- zole encapsulated, CS and α,β-GP, as well as different acid solvents, were chosen to evaluate their influences on the drug release behaviors from CS/α,β-GP hydrogels. It was found that there was a sustaining release during the first 3 h followed by a plateau. SEM images showed that drugs were located both on the surface and in the interior of hydrogels. The optimal preparation conditions of this hydrogel for drug release were as follows： 1.8% （w/v） CS in HAc solvent, 5.6% （w/v） a, 13-GP and 5g/L metronidazole encapsulation. Cytotoxicity evaluation found no toxic effect. In order to control the release rate, 2.5 g/L chitosan microspheres with spherical shape and smooth surface were incorporated, and it was found that the initial release process was alleviated, while drug concentration had no obvious effect on the release rate. It could be concluded that the metronidzole release behaviors could be optimized according to practical applica- tions.
