Objective： Midkine （MK）, a new member of the heparin-binding growth factor family, has been found recently to have a high expression level in many tumor specimens including lung carcinoma. Estrogens may be involved in lung carcinogenesis, and estrogen receptors, mainly estrogen receptor-β （ER-β）, are present and functional in normal lung and tumor cell lines and tissues. In addition, estrogens and growth factors may promote the progression of human non-small cell lung cancer （NSCLC）. Previously, we have immunohistochemically demonstrated that MK and ER-β proteins were overexpressed in NSCLC and their expression levels were both significantly negatively correlated with the pathological classification. The purpose of this study was to further verify their expression and its correlation with NSCLC. Methods： Taking NSCLC tissues and their corresponding paraneoplastic and normal lung as research objects, we further examined the expression of MK and ER-β by meas of RT-PCR, in situ hybridization and Western blot analyses at the levels of messenger RNA （mRNA） and protein, respectively. Results： The increased MK and ER-β mRNA expression was found in NSCLC by RT-PCR and in situ hybridization analyses. Furthermore, Western blot analysis also displayed increased expression of MK and ER-β proteins in NSCLC. Finally, their correlation analysis at the levels of mRNA and protein expression in NSCLC demonstrated that MK protein level was significantly correlated to estrogen receptor-β （P〈0.01, rs=0.535）; in spite of their correlation at the mRNA level, there was no remarkable difference between MK and ER-β （P〉0.05, rs=0.178）. Conclusion： All these results in the present study confirmed that MK and ER-β were overexpressed in human NSCLC.

The Fe-0.21C 2.2Mn 0.49Si-1.77A1 transformation induced plasticity （TRIP） aided steel was heat trea- ted at various austenitizing temperatures under both TRiP-aided polygonal ferrite type （TPF） and an- nealed martensite matrix （TAM） processes. The microstructure evolution and their effects on mechanical properties were systematically investigated through the microstructure observation and dilatometric analysis. The microstructure homogeneity is improved in TPF steel heated at a high temperature due to the reduced banded martensite and the increased bainite. Compared with the mechanical properties of the TPF steels, the yield strength and elongation of the TAM steels are much higher, while the tensile strength is lower than that of TPF steels. The stability of intercritical austenite is affected by the heating tempera- ture, and thus the following phase transformation influences the mechanical properties, such as the bain- ite transformation and the precipitation of polygonal ferrite. Obvious dynamic bainite transformation occurs at TAM850, TAM900 and TAM950, More proportion of polygonal ferrite is found in the sample heated at 950 ℃. The bainite transformation beginning at a higher temperature results in the wider bainitic ferrite laths. The more proportion of polygonal ferrite and wide bainitic ferrite laths commonly contribute to the lower strength and better elongation. The uniform microstructure with lath-like morphology and retained austenite with high average carbon content ensures a good mechanical property in TAM850 with the product of strength and elongation of about 28 GPa ·%,

Recycling waste tires through pyrolysis technology generates refractory wastewater,which is harmful to the environment if not disposed *** this study,a combined process of coagulation detoxification and biodegradation was used to treat tire pyrolysis *** removal characteristics at the molecular level were investigated using electrospray ionization(ESI)coupled with Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry(FT-ICR MS).The results showed that nearly 90%of the organic matter from the wastewater was removed through the *** of the two coagulants for different classes of organics in tire pyrolysis wastewater was *** covalently bound inorganicorganic hybrid coagulant(CBHyC)used in this work had a complementary relationship with biodegradation for the organics removal:this coagulant reduced toxicity and enhanced the biodegradation by preferentially removing refractory substances such as lignin with a high degree of oxidation(O/C>0.3).This study provides molecular insight into the organics of tire pyrolysis wastewater removed by a combined treatment process,supporting the advancement and application of waste rubber recycling *** also contributes to the possible development of an effective treatment process for refractory wastewater.

AIM：To determine the prevalence of vision impairment（VI）and refractive error in first year university students at the Tianjin Medical ***：This is a cross-sectional observational cohort study of VI and refractive error among first year university students at the Tianjin Medical *** first year university students were involved in this study and were given a detailed questionnaire including age,birth date,and spectacle wearing history.A standardized ophthalmologic examination including visual acuity（VA）,slit-lamp examination,non-cycloplegic auto-refraction,objective refraction,fundus photography,and examination of their spectacles were ***：A total of 3654 participants were included in this *** 3436（94.03%） individuals had VI in this *** 150（4.10%） individuals had VI due to ocular disease,including amblyopia,congenital cataract,retinal atrophy or degeneration,strabismus,congenital nystagmus,refractive surgery *** 3286（89.93%） subjects had VI due to refractive *** 218（5.97%） students were ***,refractive error was the main cause for the VI（95.63%）.Totally 3242（92.52%） students were myopia and the prevalence of mild,moderate,and high myopia subgroup was 27.05%,44.35%,and 21.26% *** 44（1.29%） subjects were *** rates of uncorrected visual acuity（UCVA）,presenting visual acuity（PVA）and best corrected visual acuity（BCVA）which better than 20/20 in both eyes were 5.65%,22.32% and 82.13% *** rates of correction,under correction and well correction in myopia subjects were 82.73%,84.39% and 15.61%,respectively. CONCLUSION：We present a high prevalence of refractive errors and high rates of under correction refractive error among first year university *** results may help to promote vision protection work in young adults.
