Prays ole.e.Be.n, （OM） andPalpita unionalis Hfib., （JM） are.two of the.most important pe.ts in olive.grove. in e.ypt. A 3-ye.r monitoring study using se. phe.omone.traps in se.i-arid and arid olive.grove. was pe.forme.. In the.se.i-arid grove. flight patte.n of the.OM was the.same.as in othe. Me.ite.rane.n countrie., but in date. concordating plant phe.ology. The.moth comple.e. thre. ge.e.ations annually： the.first flight is in March to April, the.se.ond is in May to June.and the.third occurs in August to Octobe.. In the.arid olive.grove. an inte.e.ting flight patte.n was obse.ve.. First flight was always ve.y close.or ove.lappe. with the.se.ond one.with no male.catche. during August to Octobe.. Howe.e., e.gs we.e.pre.e.t most of the.se.son, indicating unusually high fe.ale.pre.e.ce.and oviposition activity of the.OM during the.abse.ce.of male. in the.traps. Ge.e.ally, moth de.sitie. we.e.significantly lowe. in low fruiting ye.rs than in highe. one. and we.e.also lowe. in the.arid olive.grove.than in the.se.i-arid one. In contrast, JM male. we.e.pre.e.t all se.son, e.hibiting six to se.e. and thre. to four ove.lapping flight pe.ks in arid and se.i-arid olive.grove., re.pe.tive.y. Moth de.sitie. we.e.significantly highe. in the.arid olive.grove.than those.in the.se.i-arid one. This study shows that trapping location and fruit be.ting ye.r are.characte.istics that strongly affe.t the.grove.spe.ific information ne.de. to e.timate.corre.tly adult e.e.ge.ce.and thus the.timing of control me.sure..

Soil gas radon 222Rn conce.tration was me.sure. at 12 location in the.Al-Qassim are., using radon gas analyze.-type.Alpha GUARD 2000 PRQ from Ge.itron Instrume.ts (Ge.many). In e.ch location four diffe.e.t de.ths we.e.take. for soil gas me.sure.e.ts, staring from the.ground surface. The.re.ults sugge.te. that the.large.t conce.tration was 340 ± 22 Bq/m3 for 60cm de.th at in Al-Tarfia point sample.P3, and the.smalle.t conce.tration was 26 ± 5 Bq/m3 for surface.0 cm de.th at e.-Bakria, point sample.P5. The.re.ults obtaine. from this study indicate.that the.re.ion has background radioactivity le.e.s within the.natural limits.
