Nowadays,the most notable uncertainty for an electricity utility lies in the electrical demand of *** response(DR)has acquired considerable attention due to uncertain generation outputs from intermittent renewable energy sources and advancements of smart grid *** percentage of the air-conditioner(AC)load over the total load demand in a building is usually very ***,controlling the power demand of ACs is one of significant measures for implementing *** this paper,the increasing development of ACs,and their impacts on power demand are firstly introduced,with an overview of possible DR ***,a comprehensive review and discussion on control techniques and DR programs for ACs to manage electricity utilization in residential and commercial energy sectors are carried ***,comparative analysis among various programs and projects utilized in different countries for optimizing electricity consumption by ACs is ***,the conclusions along with future recommendations and challenges for optimal employment of ACs are presented in the perspective of power systems.

A simple and sensitive flow injection spectrophotometric method is reported for the determination of vitamin E using potassium ferricyanide-Fe(Ⅲ) detection *** the presence of vitamin E,Fe(Ⅲ)/ferricyanide *** in situ reduced ions are then reacted with unreduced portion of ferricyanide/Fe(Ⅲ) to make soluble Prussian blue,which is monitored at absorption wavelength of 735 *** calibration graph was obtained in the concentration range of 0.1-40μg mL^(-1).The relative standard deviations (n=4) were in the range of 1.1-3.6%,with limits of detection(3 s blank) of 0.04μg mL^(-1).The proposed method allowed 12 injections h^(-1).The method is applied to determine vitamin E in pharmaceuticals,infant milk and blood serum samples using hexane extraction with the recoveries in the range of 93±3 to 97.5±4%.The method is validated using certified reference materials SRM 968c for blood serum samples.

Knowledge on the interactions between engineered nanomaterials(ENMs) and biological systems is critical both for the assessment of biological effects of ENMs and for the rational design of ENM-based products. However, probing the events that occur at the nano-bio interface remains extremely challenging due to their complex and dynamic nature. So far, the understanding of mechanisms underlying nano-bio interactions has been mainly limited by the lack of proper analytical techniques with sufficient sensitivity, selectivity and resolution for characterization of nano-bio interface events. Moreover, many classic bioanalytical methods are not suitable for direct measurement of nano-bio interface interactions. These have made establishing analytical methodologies for systematic and comprehensive study of nano-bio interface one of the most focused areas in nanobiology. In this review we have discussed some representative developments regarding analytical techniques for nano-bio interface characterization, including the improvements of traditional methods and the emergence of powerful new technologies. These developments have allowed ultrasensitive, real-time analysis of interactions between ENMs and biomolecules, transformations of ENMs in biological environment, and impacts of ENMs on living systems on molecular or cellular level.

Tungsten (W) incorporated mobil-type eleven (MEL) zeolite membrane (referred to as W-MEL membrane) with high separation performance was firstly explored for the separation of oil/water mixtures under the influence of gravity.W-MEL membranes were grown on stainless steel (SS) meshes through in-situ hydrothermal growth method facilitated with (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) modification of stainless steel meshes,which promote the heterogeneous nucleation and crystal growth of W-MEL zeolites onto the mesh surface.W-MEL membranes were grown on different mesh size supports to investigate the effect of mesh size on the separation performance of the *** assynthesized W-MEL membrane supported on 500 mesh (25μm)(W-MEL-500) exhibit the hydrophilic nature with a water contact angle of 11.8°and delivers the best hexane/water mixture separation with a water flux and separation efficiency of 46247 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1)and 99.5%,*** wettability of W-MEL membranes was manipulated from hydrophilic to hydrophobic nature by chemically modifying with the fluorine-free compounds (hexadecyltrimethoxysilane (HDTMS) and dodecyltrimethoxysilane(DDTMS)) to achieve efficient oil-permselective separation of heavy oils from *** the hydrophobically modified W-MEL membranes,W-MEL-500-HDTMS having a water contact angle of146.4°delivers the best separation performance for dichloromethane/water mixtures with a constant oil flux and separation efficiency of 61490 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1)and 99.2%,respectively along with the stability tested up to 20 *** W-MEL-500-HDTMS and W-MEL-500-DDTMS membranes also exhibit similar separation performances for the separation of heavy oil from sea water along with a 20-fold lower corrosion rate in comparison with the bare stainless-steel mesh,indicating their excellent stability in *** to the reported zeolite membranes for oil/water separation,the as-synthesized and hydrophobically modified W-MEL membranes shows competiti

Tightening of air quality standards for populated urban areas has led to increasing attention to assessment of air quality management areas, where violation of air quality standards occurs, and development of control strategies to eliminate such vio-lation of air quality standards. The Quetta urban area is very densely built and has heavy motorized traffic. The increase of emis-sions mainly from traffic and industry are responsible for the increase in atmospheric pollution levels during the last years. The dust examined in the current study was collected by both deposit gauge and Petri dish methods at various sites of Quetta Valley. Smoke particles were obtained by bladder method from the exhausts of various types of motor vehicles. The concentration of lead found in the smoke ranged from 1.5×10?6 to 4.5×10?6.

Building low-latency and high-capacity optical networks is vital for new high-speed cellular *** wavelength division multiplexing passive optical networks(WDM-PONs)are expected to play a key role in these *** this article,an overview of PON technologies for the 5 th generation(5 G)transport systems has been ***,a modified scheme based on coherent WDM-PON has been investigated using a dual polarization quadrature phase shift keying(DP-QPSK)*** aim of the scheme is to build a 1600 Gbit/s network that will be used in the construction of the transport architecture of 5 G and beyond cellular networks either in mobile front haul(MFH)or mobile back haul(MBH).The results indicate that the proposed scheme offers a promising solution for future 5 G transport systems.

Hypoxic hepatitis (HH),also known as ischemic hepatitis or shock liver,is characterized by a massive,rapid rise in serum aminotransferases resulting from reduced oxygen delivery to the *** most common predisposing condition is cardiac failure,followed by circulatory failure as occurs in septic shock and respiratory *** does,however,occur in the absence of a documented hypotensive event or shock state in 50% of *** intensive care units,the incidence of HH is near 2.5%,but has been reported as high as 10% in some *** pathophysiology is multifactorial,but often involves hepatic congestion from right heart failure along with reduced hepatic blood flow,total body hypoxemia,reduced oxygen uptake by hepatocytes or reperfusion injury following *** diagnosis is primarily clinical,and typically does not require liver *** definitive treatment of HH involves correction of the underlying disease state,but successful management includes monitoring for the potential complications such as hypoglycemia,hyperglycemia,hyperammonemia and hepatopulmonary *** of HH remains poor,especially for cases in which there was a delay in *** in-hospital mortality rate is >50%,and the most frequent cause of death is the predisposing condition and not the liver injury itself.

妇女参与农业被认为是提高农业生产力和生产的“先决条件”。然而,性别制度是多样化和复杂的。性别歧视的性质和程度以及赋予妇女权力的必要条件因社区、区域和国家而异。因此,研究妇女参与农业是将跨文化差异纳入具体性别限制的根本,以便有效地解决性别差距。因此,本文研究了影响巴基斯坦信德省小麦种植户妇女参与农业生产力培训项目的因素。2008年,巴基斯坦国家粮食安全和研究部（MNFSR）/巴基斯坦农业研究委员会（PARC）于2013年在信德省推出了农业生产力培训计划（APTP）。这些数据来自于对信德省9个地区360名小麦种植者的调查。采用二元逻辑回归模型分析影响妇女参与APTP的因素。我们的发现表明,男性比女性农民更有可能参加培训项目。APTP的参与受性别、家庭规模、农场经验、家庭教育程度和婚姻状况的影响显著。该研究调查了性别敏感的教育和农业生产力培训项目将对双方都有同样的好处,特别是妇女提高生产力,而不是只向男性农民倾斜。因此,应考虑和鼓励重视妇女的参与,通过避免与性别有关的限制来提高小麦生产和生产力。发展伙伴、推广机构和农业服务提供者之间可能需要更密切的合作,以提高妇女对该方案的参与。因此,本研究的结果表明,政策制定者可以帮助实现性别差异的目标,使女性获得足够的知识,并使该项目对男性和女性农民都可行,以提高农业生产率.
