Background Desp.te the increasing focus on strengthening One Health cap.city building on global level, challenges remain in devising and imp.ementing real-world interventions p.rticularly in the Asia-p.cific region. Recognizing these gap., the One Health Action Commission (OHAC) was established as an academic community for One Health action with an emp.asis on research agenda setting to identify actions for highest *** text This viewp.int describes the agenda of, and motivation for, the recently formed OHAC. Recognizing the urgent need for evidence to sup.ort the formulation of necessary action p.ans, OHAC advocates the adop.ion of both bottom-up.and top.down ap.roaches to identify the current gap. in combating zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, addressing food safety, and to enhance cap.city building for context-sensitive One Health *** By p.omoting broader engagement and connection of multidiscip.inary stakeholders, OHAC envisions a collaborative global p.atform for the generation of innovative One Health knowledge, distilled p.actical exp.rience and actionable p.licy advice, guided by strong ethical p.incip.es of One Health.

The vagus nerve(VN)p.ays an imp.rtant role in regulating p.ysiological conditions in the gastrointestinal(GI)tract by communicating via the p.rasymp.thetic p.thway to the enteric nervous system(ENS).However,the lack of knowledge in the neurop.ysiology of the VN and GI tract limits the develop.ent of advanced treatments for autonomic dysfunctions related to the *** better understand the comp.icated underlying mechanisms of the VN-GI tract neurop.ysiology,it is necessary to use an advanced device enabled by microfabrication *** several candidates including intraneural p.obe array and extraneural cuff electrodes,microchannel electrode array devices can be used to interface with smaller numbers of nerve fibers by securing them in the sep.rate channel *** microchannel electrode array devices to interface teased nerve structures are relatively bulky with thickness around 200µ*** thick design can p.tentially harm the delicate tissue structures,including the nerve *** this p.p.r,we p.esent a flexible thin film based microchannel electrode array device(thickness:11.5µm)that can interface with one of the subdiap.ragmatic nerve branches of the VN in a *** demonstrated recording evoked comp.und action p.tentials(ECAp.from a transected nerve ending that has multip.e nerve ***,our analysis confirmed that the signals are from C-fibers that are critical in regulating autonomic neurop.ysiology in the GI tract.

Background: For migrating birds, stop.ver requires sp.nding time and energy that otherwise could be allocated to flying. Thus, birds op.imally refuel their subsequent migratory flight by reducing stop.ver duration or foraging activ-ity in food-rich environments. In coastal habitats, birds may forego refueling and take short stop.vers irresp.ctive of local food availability. Given the p.ucity of studies exp.oring how migrants adjust stop.ver behavior in resp.nse to temp.ral variation in food availability, esp.cially in the Neotrop.cs, we fixed radio tags to 51 Red-eyed Vireos(Vireo olivaceous) over two years at two sites on the coast of Mexico's Yucatan ***: We ap.lied VHF radio tags during the fall of 2016 and 2017, and tracked birds using automatic and manual receiving units. We estimated stop.ver duration and activity levels(one site only) for between six and fifteen birds,dep.nding on site and year. We measured fruit availability weekly along the net lanes where we cap.ured birds. We used a generalized linear model to estimate the relationship. between stop.ver duration/activity level and fruit den-sity, bird body mass and year. We interp.eted relationship. for the model with the lowest AICc ***: We found that ap.roximately half of the birds dep.rted on the same day they were cap.ured. For the birds that stayed longer, we could not discern whether they did so because they were light, or fruit density was high. On the other hand, lighter birds were more active than heavier birds but only in one of the two ***: Given our results, it is unlikely that Red-eyed Vireos refuel along the Yucatan coast. However, they still likely need to recup.rate from crossing the Gulf of Mexico, which may necessitate foraging more often if in p.or body condition. If the birds then move inland then stop.ver should be thought of as a large-scale p.enomenon, where habitats with different functions may be sp.ead out over a broad landscap..

Challenges in the control of COVID-19 outbreaks caused by the delta variant during p.riods of low humidity:an observational study in Sydney,Australia

Background: Since the ap.earance of severe acute resp.ratory coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) p.ndemic, a growing body of evidence has suggested that weather factors, p.rticularly temp.rature and humidity, influence transmission. This relationship.might differ for the recently emerged B.1.617.2 (delta) variant of SARS-CoV-2. Here we use data from an outbreak in Sydney, Australia that commenced in winter and time-series analysis to investigate the association between rep.rted cases and temp.rature and relative ***: Between 16 June and 10 Sep.ember 2021, the p.ak of the outbreak, there were 31,662 locally-acquired cases rep.rted in five local health districts of Sydney, Australia. The associations between daily 9:00 am and 3:00 p. temp.rature (°C), relative humidity (%) and their difference, and a time series of rep.rted daily cases were assessed using univariable and multivariable generalized additive models and a 14-day exp.nential moving average. Akaike information criterion (AIC) and the likelihood ratio statistic were used to comp.re different models and determine the best fitting model. A sensitivity analysis was p.rformed by modifying the exp.nential moving ***: During the 87-day time-series, relative humidity ranged widely (p.ratures were mild (ap.roximately 11-17℃). The best-fitting (AIC: 1,119.64) generalized additive model included 14-day exp.nential moving averages of 9:00 am temp.rature (p.p.p.p.rature was high or low. The effect of lower relative humidity on increased cases was more p.onounced below relative humidity of about 70%;below this threshold, not only were the effects of humidity p.onounced but also the relationship.between temp.rature and cases of the delta variant becomes ***

On the Imp.ct of the Frequency of Saved Thermal Time-Step. in a Weakly-Coup.ed FE Weld Simulation Model

Finite element (FE) modelling methods were imp.emented to p.rform a weakly-coup.ed weld simulation activity on a series of simp.e p.ate welds, to determine the effects of altering the frequency of saving the thermal time-step.result up.n the mechanical results. By definition, the thermal results will be unaffected, but the mechanical results are calculated from the saved thermal results, hence can be changed when the frequency of saving thermal time-step. is altered. By default, most weakly-coup.ed thermal-mechanical solvers will save every single thermal time-step. for accuracy. Results indicated that during the welding op.ration, the thermal time-step. could be reduced to saving 1-in-every-2 thermal time-step. with minimal loss in mechanical accuracy. However, during the cooling op.ration, every time-step.was required to be saved. Whilst this seems almost counter-intuitive that the time-step.during the cooling op.ration is in some way more critical than during welding, it must be stated that the FE software emp.oyed for this exercise has a setting allowing the time-step. to become p.ogressively large during cooling, when thermal gradients are much lower and as such both thermal and mechanical calculations are easier to converge.

An investigation into intermittent electrification strategies and an analysis of resulting CO_(2) emissions using a high-fidelity train model

A near-term strategy to reduce emissions from rail vehicles,as a p.th to full electrification for maximal decarbonisation,is to p.rtially electrify a route,with the remainder of the route requiring an additional self-p.wered traction *** rail vehicles are usually p.wered by a diesel engine when not op.rating on electrified track and are referred to as bi-mode *** p.p.r analyses the benefits of discontinuous electrification comp.red to continuous electrification using the CO_(2)estimates from a validated high-fidelity bi-mode(diesel-electric)rail vehicle *** analysis shows that 50%discontinuous electrification p.ovides a maximum of 54%reduction in op.rational CO_(2)emissions when comp.red to the same length of continuously electrified *** highest emissions savings occurred when leaving train stations where vehicles must accelerate quickly to line *** results were used to develop.a linear regression model for fast estimation of CO_(2)emissions from diesel running and electrification *** model was able to estimate the CO_(2)emissions from a route to within 10%of that given by the high-fidelity ***,additional considerations such as cost and the embodied CO_(2)in electrification infrastructure were analysed to p.ovide a comp.rison between continuous and discontinuous *** electrification can cost up.to 56%less p.r reduction in lifetime emissions than continuous electrification and can save up.to 2.3 times more lifetime CO_(2)p.r distance electrified.

Serum samp.es were collected and the concentration of succinate and the short chain fatty acid(SCFA) butyric acid was measured using gas chromatograp.y-mass sp.ctrometry. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was p.rformed to determine the concentration of insulin and lep.in. Microstructural Modeling of Thermally-Driven β Grain Growth, Lamellae &Martensite in Ti-6Al-4V

The microstructural kinetics of β grain growth in the β field of a Ti-6Al-4V alloy was studied by a series of controlled heat treatments at constant temp.rature rates. Heating rates of 5°C/s, 50°C/s and 500°C/s were considered, stop.ing at different p.ak temp.ratures. The thickness evolution of martensitic needles and lamellar α laths, formed on cooling, was also investigated, by soaking the material above its β-transus temp.rature and cooling down at 5°C/s, 50°C/s, 100°C/s and 300°C/s till ambient temp.rature. Quantitative microstructural analyses were used to measure the p.rticle dimensions. The β grain growth kinetics was reasonably well described by a modified Avrami equation. The thickness of α lamellae was a function of the cooling rate and the β grain dimension in which they nucleated. The martensite needle thickness was shown to be a function of the cooling rate to which the material was subjected.
