The Chinese tree shrew(Tupaia belangeri chinensis)has emerged as a promising model for investigating adrenal steroid synthesis,but it is unclear whether the same cells produce steroid hormones and whether their production is regulated in the same way as in ***,we comprehensively mapped the cell types and pathways of steroid metabolism in the adrenal gland of Chinese tree shrews using single-cell RNA sequencing,spatial transcriptome analysis,mass spectrometry,and *** compared the transcriptomes of various adrenal cell types across tree shrews,humans,macaques,and *** showed that tree shrew adrenal glands expressed many of the same key enzymes for steroid synthesis as humans,including CYP11B2,CYP11B1,CYB5A,and *** analysis confirmed the production of aldosterone,cortisol,and dehydroepiandrosterone but not dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate in the tree shrew adrenal ***,genes in adrenal cell types in tree shrews were correlated with genetic risk factors for polycystic ovary syndrome,primary aldosteronism,hypertension,and related disorders in humans based on genome-wide association ***,this study suggests that the adrenal glands of Chinese tree shrews may consist of closely related cell populations with functional similarity to those of the human adrenal *** comprehensive results(publicly available at http://***:16245/scAGMap/)should facilitate the advancement of this animal model for the investigation of adrenal gland disorders.

The construction of a new beamline,BL10U1,was completed at the Shanghai synchrotron radiation facility in *** multipurpose beamline was designed to provide X-ray scattering techniques such as ultra-small-angle X-ray scattering(USAXS),small-angle X-ray scattering(SAXS),wide-angle X-ray scattering,and microfocus SAXS(μSAXS)for a broad user *** realize fast time-resolved USAXS experiments,the beamline adopted an in-vacuum undulator with a total length of 1.6 m as the photon *** in-house cryogenic-cooled double multilayer monochromator was installed to deliver a photon flux of approximately 10^(13) photons/s at a photon energy of 10 *** three-year successful operation of this beamline demonstrated that the monochromator operated smoothly,as ***10U1 has three end stations in succession:USAXS end station,μSAXS end station,and end station for industrial *** minimum scattering vector q~0.0042 nm^(-1) at 10 keV can be achieved at the USAXS end station equipped with a 28 m-long and 1.8 m-diameter vacuum flight *** theμSAXS end station,a beam spot of less than 10×8μm was achieved for micro-SAXS *** contrast,in situ experimental instruments up to 5 m high and 8 m wide can be mounted at the industrial application end station,which offers industrial scientists the opportunity to use their large industrial ***10U1 opens up a new capability to investigate phenomena such as non-equilibrium and dynamic processes of materials with a wide length scale from angstroms to micrometers with millisecond time *** this paper,we also report beamline design considerations and commissioning results.

The neutron-induced total cross sections of natural lead have been measured in a wide energy range(0.3 eV-20 MeV)on the back-streaming white neutron beamline(Back-n)at the China Spallation Neutron *** energy was determined by the neutron total cross-section spectrometer using the time-of-flight technique.A fast multi-cell fission chamber was used as the neutron detector,and a 10-mm-thick high-purity natural lead sample was employed for the neutron transmission *** on-beam background was determined using Co,In,Ag,and Cd *** excitation function of ^(nat)Pb(n,tot)reaction below 20 MeV was calculated using the TALYS-1.96 nuclear-reaction modeling *** present results were compared with previous results,the evaluated data available in the five major evaluated nuclear data libraries(i.e.,ENDF/B-VIII.0,JEFF-3.3,JENDL-5,CENDL-3.2,and BROND-3.1),and the theoretical calculation *** agreement was found between the new results and those of previous experiments and with the theoretical curves in the corresponding *** measurement obtained the neutron total cross section of natural lead with good accuracy over a wide energy range and added experimental data in the resonance energy *** provides more reliable experimental data for nuclear engineering design and nuclear data evaluation of lead.

The FAST All Sky HI survey(FASHI)was designed to cover the entire sky observable by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST),spanning approximately 22000 square degrees of declination between-14°and+66°,and in the frequency range of 1050-1450 MHz,with the expectation of eventually detecting more than 100000 HI *** August 2020 and June 2023,FASHI had covered more than 7600 square degrees,which is approximately 35%of the total sky observable by *** has a median detection sensitivity of around 0.76 m Jy beam-1and a spectral line velocity resolution of~6.4 km s-1at a frequency of~1.4 *** of now,a total of 41741 extragalactic HI sources have been detected in the frequency range 1305.5-1419.5 MHz,corresponding to a redshift limit of z■*** cross-matching FASHI sources with the Siena Galaxy Atlas(SGA)and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey(SDSS)catalogs,we found that 16972(40.7%)sources have spectroscopic redshifts and 10975(26.3%)sources have only photometric *** of the remaining 13794(33.0%)HI sources are located in the direction of the Galactic plane,making their optical counterparts difficult to identify due to high extinction or high contamination of Galactic stellar *** on current survey results,the FASHI survey is an unprecedented blind extragalactic H I *** has higher spectral and spatial resolution and broader coverage than the Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA Survey(ALFALFA).When completed,FASHI will provide the largest extragalactic HI catalog and an objective view of HI content and large-scale structure in the local universe.
