The Carriage of Escherichia coli Resistant to Antibiotics in Healthy Populations in Shanghai

Healthy populations represent the largest reservoir of bacteria resistant to *** investigated the resistance of Escherichta coli to 12 antibiotics in fecal samples from untreated healthy populations in Shanghai, China by using Kirby-Bauer (K-B) method. The results showed that: (i) All subjects carried resistant strains of Escherichta coli. (ii) The carriage rates of Escherichta coli resistant to various antibiotics were different, less than 10 % to amikacin and 30 % to 100% to others. (iii) In the elder children group aged 10-11 years, the percentages of stralns resistant to gentamicin, streptomycin, chloramphenicol, tetracycline, trimethoprim, and sulfamethoxazole were significantly lower than those in the younger group aged 5-6 years. In the adult group, the percentages of strains resistant to ampicillin, piperacillin, arnikacin, streptomycin, chloramphenicol, tetracycline, trimethoprim, and sulfamethoxarole were significantly lower than those in the elder children group. (iv) The number of strains resistant to five or more antibiotics accounted for 31. 8 % in the younger children group, 23. 7 % in the elder children group,and 12. 1 % in the adult group. These findings suggest that all healthy people in Shanghal carry resistant strains of Escherichta coli in the intestine. The younger the populations, the higher the level of resistance of fecal Escherichta coli to antibiotics. Improvement of health behaviors and environmental sanitation and rational use of antibiotics could remarkedly decrease the resistant level of bacteria

The Pomacea canaliculata, also known as apple snail, is an invasive species in China, posing a serious threat to agricultural production and public health. To prevent its rampant infestation, we developed a highly efficient snail-killing lead compound, 1-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-(pyridin-3-yl)urea (PBQ). However, the killing mechanism of PBQ remains unclear. To elucidate this, two novel compounds, B-PBQ and J-PBQ, were developed through structural modification of PBQ and were used, through both protein pull-down assay and confocal laser scanning microscopy imaging, to identify and confirm that phosphofructokinase(PFK) in the apple snail is the primary target protein of PBQ. Further studies revealed that PBQ successfully inhibits the activity,content, and expression of PFK in apple snail, disrupting the glycolysis pathway and leading to abnormal energy *** disruptions impair the snail’s tolerance to low oxygen, resulting in its efficient eradication. These findings offer a promising direction for developing next-generation PFK-targeted snail-killing pesticides. Furthermore, the strategy of combining pull-down assays with optical imaging used in this work provides a novel approach for the exploration of mechanisms of other pesticide candidates.

Background:Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a liver disorder characterized by the accumulation and degeneration of fat in the liver cells,a condition that may further deteriorate and lead to cirrhosis and liver *** studies showed that metabolic dysfunction can promote NAFLD *** Zhugan Decoction(LGZGD)has therapeutic effects on *** mechanism of LGZGD still remains *** study was to examine the impact of LGZGD on the metabolic processes involved in the development of ***:A mice model of NAFLD was treated with *** therapeutic potential of LGZGD was evaluated by assessing the activity of transaminases,lipids levels of blood,and pathological changes in the liver of the mice model of ***,this study also evaluated the influence of LGZGD on liver inflammation and oxidative ***:The results of untargeted metabolomics analysis showed that LGZGD reduced the disordered lipid metabolism in NAFLD *** improved the oxidative stress and also reduced the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the *** metabolomics analysis of liver samples revealed that LGZGD treatment improved metabolic disorders,including alanine,aspartate,glutamate,glycerophospholipid metabolism,and citrate *** RT-qPCR and Western blot results showed that LGZGD could regulate the expression of key enzymes in the metabolic pathway of the citrate cycle,including ATP-citrate lyase(ACLY),alanine-glyoxylate aminotransferase-2(AGXT2),phosphatidylethanolamine N-methyltransferase(PEMT),and succinate dehydrogenase(SDH).Conclusion:We found that LGZGD can treat NAFLD by reducing inflammatory responses,inhibiting oxidative stress,regulating alanine,aspartate,glutamate,and glycerophospholipid metabolism,and citrate cycle pathways.

leader-follower Optimal Selection Method for Distributed Control System in Active Distribution Networks

Aiming at the shortcomings of a traditional centralized control in an active distribution network(AND),this paper proposes a leader-follower distributed group cooperative control strategy to realize multiple operation and control tasks for an *** distributed information exchange protocols of the distributed generation(DG)group devoted to node voltage regulation or exchange power control are developed using a DG power utilization ratio as the consensus *** these bases,this study further investigates the leader optimal selection method for a DG group to improve the response speed of the distributed control ***,a single or multiple leader selection model is established to minimize the constraints of the one-step convergence factor and the number of leaders to improve the response speed of the distributed control *** simulation results of the IEEE 33 bus standard test system show the effectiveness of the proposed distributed control *** addition,the response speed of a DG control group can be improved effectively when the single or multiple leaders are selected optimally.

Cross wedge rolling deformation law and bonding mechanism of 304 stainless steel/Q235 carbon steel bimetallic shaft

304 stainless steel(SS)/Q235 carbon steel(CS)bimetallic composite shafts were prepared by the cross wedge rolling(CWR).The bonding interface welding mechanism was investigated through CWR rolling experiments and finite element simulation,as well as element diffusion,microstructure analysis,and mechanical property *** to simulation studies,the bonding interface is primarily subjected to three-directional compressive stresses at the tool-workpiece contact *** compression ratio increases from 0.25 to 0.35,the interface of the stress penetration area increases,while the diameter and wall thickness of CS/SS bimetallic shaft decrease,and hence,thickness-to-diameter ratio remains unchanged,which is conducive to the coordinated deformation of inner and outer metals and the interface of welded *** microstructure analysis of the interface shows that there are no obvious defects and cracks in the attachment,and that the microstructure on CS side is dominated by ferrite and martensite *** by the decarburization effect,Q235 steel microstructure features coarse ferrite,accompanied by a carburized layer with a thickness of about 20μm on SS side near the interface where grains are *** radial compression ratio increases,the diffusion distance of Cr,Ni,and other elements increases,the average thickness of the decarburized layer decreases,the interfacial bonding strength increases from 450 to 490 MPa,and metallurgical bonding at the interface is thus *** study demonstrates that it is feasible to use 304 SS and Q235 CS for cross wedge rolling composite shafts.

A systematic analysis of the radial resonance frequency spectra of the PZT-based (Zr/Ti=52/48) piezoceramic thin disks

In this paper,both the ID radial mode and the equivalent circuit of a piezoceramic disk resonator were theoretically analyzed based on IEEE *** then,the radial resonance frequency spectra of the PZT-based(Nb/Ce co-doped Pb(Zro.s2Ti0.48)O3,abbreviated as PZT-NC)piezoceramic circular disks were measured by an impedance analyzer.A set of resonance frequency spectra including six electrical parameters:Z,R,X,Y,G,and B,were used for making a value distinction between three possible resonance frequencies,and between three possible antiresonance frequencies.A new-form Nyquist diagram was depicted to describe the position relations of these characteristic *** a complete resonance frequency spectrum was used to perform the accurate calculation of some material constants and electromechanical coupling parameters for the PZT-NC ***,the frequency dependence of the AC conductive behavior of the specimen was characterized by the complex impedance *** values of AC conductivity at resonance/antiresonance were deduced from the equivalent circuit ***,the Van Dyke circuit model was assigned to each element contribution and the simulated curves showed a nice fitting with the experimental ***,an additional impedance analysis associated with resonance frequency calculation revealed a complicated coupled vibration mode existing in the annular disk specimen.

Experiment on Spray Cooling Performance with Different Additives of Different Mass Fraction

As an efficient cooling method for high heat flux field,spray cooling has a great application potential on aircraft directed energy weapon *** on previous research results,an experimental system of open-loop spray cooling was established,and the potassium chloride aqueous solutions and ethylene glycol aqueous solutions with different mass fractions were applied to investigate the influence of different additives on spray cooling system ***,theoretical analysis was conducted according to the droplet breakage principle and the characteristic parameters of fluid *** results indicate that heat transfer can be enhanced by adding potassium chloride up to a certain concentration and then decrease with higher *** transfer is deteriorated with the increase of ethylene glycol *** of the two additives can reduce the freezing point of the system,and ethylene glycol is preferred to improve the application range of the system in consideration of the corrosion of salt solution.

Effect of Skew Angle of Holes on the Thermal Fatigue Behavior of a Ni-based Single Crystal Superalloy

In the present work,holes of various skew angles were electrochemically machined in the middle of the plate specimens in a Ni-based single crystal superalloy and crack initiation and propagation around holes during thermal fatigue cycles（20–1100 ℃） were *** was demonstrated that the skew angles had a significant effect on the initiation and propagation of thermal fatigue *** thermal fatigue process,stress concentration occurred at the edge of the *** for skew angles,the maximum stress concentration appeared at the acute side of *** maximum stress concentration resulted in plastic deformation at the acute side of the 30° hole,driving the thermal fatigue cracks to initiate after 220 cycles and propagate along [011] ***,the stresses concentrated at the edge of 90° or 60° holes were not large enough to initiate cracks even after 580 thermal *** work will help to understand the local deformation behavior in the vicinity of cooling holes with various skew angles and have serious design implications for turbine blades.

Nanoscopic tribological characteristics of a cryogenically cycled Zr-based metallic glass

Optimized macroscopic tribological behavior can be anticipated in metallic glasses(MGs)by cryogenic cycling treatment(CCT),which is attributed to enhanced ***,the intrinsic friction mechanisms of MGs induced by cryogenic rejuvenation are still poorly *** the present study,nanoscopic wear tests were conducted on the Zr-based MGs surface with different CCT cycles using atomic force microscopy(AFM).After CCT treatment with 100 cycles,the MG displays the highest adhesion and ploughing frictions,but significantly improved anti-wear *** tests and molecular dynamics simulations disclose that the increased adhesion is attributed to the dominance of liquid-like regions in the CCT-treated MGs,and the impact of reduced hardness and weak elastic recovery results in the deteriorated ploughing *** enhanced plasticity effectively dissipates the strain from the AFM tip through multiple shear bands and weakens the adhesion during deformation,giving rise to excellent wear *** study elucidates the promoting effect of CCT on the outstanding antiwear performance of MGs,and is helpful for the development of novel alloys.
