Objective This study aimed to examine the role of long non-coding RNA PCED1B antisense RNA 1(PCED1B-AS1)in the development of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods A total of 62 pairs of HCC tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues were obtained from 62 HCC *** interactions of PCED1B-AS1 and microRNA-34a(miR-34a)were detected by dual luciferase activity assay and RNA pull-down *** RNA expression levels of PCED1B-AS1,miR-34a and CD44 were detected by RT-qPCR,and the protein expression level of CD44 was determined by Western *** cell proliferation was detected by cell proliferation assay,and the cell invasion and migration by transwell invasion *** HCC tumor growth after PCED1B-AS1 was downregulated was determined by in vivo animal *** PCED1B-AS1 was highly expressed in HCC tissues,which was associated with poor survival of HCC ***,PCED1B-AS1 interacted with miR-34a in HCC cells,but they did not regulate the expression of each ***,PCED1B-AS1 increased the expression level of CD44,which was targeted by *** cell proliferation and invasion assay revealed that miR-34a inhibited the proliferation and invasion of HCC in vitro,while CD44 exhibited the opposite ***,PCED1B-AS1 suppressed the role of ***,the knockdown of PCED1B-AS1 repressed the HCC tumor growth in nude mice in *** PCED1B-AS1 may play an oncogenic role by regulating the miR-34a/CD44 axis in HCC.

This study aims to reveal the occurrence and origin of typical groundwater with high arsenic and fluoride concentrations in the loess area of the Guanzhong Basin—a Neogene faulted *** findings are as follows:(1)Groundwater samples with high arsenic and fluoride concentrations collected from the loess area and the terraces of the Weihe River accounted for 26%and 30%,respectively,of the total samples,with primary hydrochemical type identified as HCO_(3)-*** karst and sand areas exhibit relatively high groundwater quality,serving as preferred sources for water *** is recommended that local governments fully harness groundwater in these areas;(2)groundwater with high arsenic and fluoride concentrations in the loess area and the alluvial plain of rivers in Dali County is primarily distributed within the Guanzhong Basin,which represents the drainage zone of groundwater;(3)arsenic and fluoride in groundwater originate principally from natural and anthropogenic sources;(4)the human health risk assessments reveal that long-term intake of groundwater with high arsenic and fluoride concentrations pose cancer or non-cancer risks,which are more serious to kids compared to *** study provides a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of groundwater with high arsenic and fluoride concentrations in loess areas.

In natural and artificial systems,reversible reactions are commonly asymmetric with respect to the time scale and nature of the stimuli which drive the forward and backward *** applications for which switching behavior is required,it is desirable that the reversible reaction goes as close to symmetric as possible;however,such systems are ***,we report an example of ultraviolet(UV)-visible light-regulated asymmetric reversible structural switching involving a diene-based coordination polymer,CP1 and its monocyclobutane product,*** is possible to cycle at least ten times through a forward [2+2] photocycloaddition reaction and the reverse,photocleavage reaction.A single cycle can be completed within a few *** transformation is accompanied by fast and distinct fluorescence changes,arising from optimisation of the reaction *** functional theory calculations allow rationalisation of the asymmetric reversible transformation between CP1 and CP1a rather than between CP1 and its dicyclobutane product *** work provides a clear illustration of reversible structural switching which approaches symmetric behaviour with respect to reaction rate and *** insights gained from this work also assist in the design of fast,reversible switching materials.

To solve the problem of high photogenerated carrier recombination rate and low photoelectric conversion efficiency of TiO_(2)-based materials,a simple N-doped anatase/rutile TiO_(2) heterophase nanorod film was designed by a low-temperature hydrothermal method in this *** enhanced separation and transport of photogenerated charges were facilitated by the smaller contact barrier and appropriate band matching between anatase TiO_(2)nanoparticles and rutile TiO_(2) *** introduction of N doping in anatase TiO_(2) resulted in an upward shift of the valence band and a narrowing of the band gap,consequently enhancing the efficiency of visible light *** combination of the heterophase junction and N-doping exhibited a synergistic effect,effectively suppressing the recombination of photogenerated charges and enhancing the photoelectric conversion efficiency of the *** AM 1.5G irradiation,the photocurrent density(J)of the A-TO(N)@R-TONR photoanode reached2.19 mA·cm^(-2)(V_(RHE,1.23 eV)).Additionally,the incident photon-electron conversion efficiency(IPCE)and the charge injection efficiency(η)reached 81.4%and 51.6%at320 ***,the J,IPCE,andηvalues of the A-TO(N)@R-TONR photoanode were 2.96,2.1 and 3.2times those of pure R-TONR photoanode,*** work presents a rational strategy for designing efficient TiO_(2)-based photoanodes.

Objective:This study aimed to investigate the role of the long noncoding RNA(lncRNA)maternally expressed gene 3(MEG3)in the epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)of bladder cancer cells and the potential ***:Cell invasion,migration,and wound healing assays were conducted to assess the effects of MEG3 on the invasive and migratory capabilities of bladder cancer *** expression levels of E-cadherin were measured using Western blotting,RT-qPCR,and dual luciferase reporter *** immunoprecipitation and pull-down assays were performed to investigate the interactions between MEG3 and its downstream ***:MEG3 suppressed the invasion and migration of bladder cancer cells and modulated the transcription of *** binding of MEG3 to the zinc finger region of the transcription factor Snail prevented its ability to transcriptionally repress ***,MEG3 suppressed the phosphorylation of extracellular regulated protein kinase(ERK),c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK),and P38,thereby decreasing the expression of Snail and stimulating the expression of ***:MEG3 plays a vital role in suppressing the EMT in bladder cancer cells,indicating its potential as a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of bladder cancer.

Glioma is a common tumor originating in the brain that has a high mortality ***(TMZ)is the first-line treatment for high-grade ***,a large pro-portion of gliomas are resistant to TMZ,posing a great challenge to their *** the study,the specific functions and mechanism(s)by which cortistatin(CORT)regulates TMZ resis-tance and glioma progression were *** decreased expression of CoRT was detected in glioma tissues,and highly expressed CORT was associated with a better survival rate in pa-tients with *** overexpression notably decreased the capacity of glioma cells to pro-liferate and migrate in vitro and to form tumors in *** overexpression also markedly suppressed the viability and enhanced the apoptosis of TMZ-resistant U251 cells by regulating MGMT,p21,and Puma ***,CORT overexpression reduced the resistance of gliomas to TMZ in *** expression Was negatively correlated with MGMT expression in both glioma tissues and cells,and it was found that CORT inhibited NF-kB pathway activation in glioma cells,thereby inhibiting MGMT *** conclusion,CORT regulates glioma cell growth,migration,apoptosis,and TMZ resistance by weakening the activity of NF-kB/p65 and thereby regulating MGMT *** CORT/NF-kB/MGMT axis might be regarded as a molecular mechanism contributing to the resistance of glioma to *** data also suggest that CORT regulates the viability and metastatic potential of glioma cells,independent of its effects on TMZ resistance,providing evidence of novel therapeutic targets for glioma that should be evaluated infurther studies.
