The evolution of the 3D Fe-rich phases of Al-7.0Si-1.2Fe alloys with different Mn contents was visualized and characterized using synchrotron X-ray computed tomography,and the effect of Fe-rich phases with typical morphologies on the fracture behavior during tensile testing was *** results showed that the Fe-rich phase changed from platelet-likeβ-Al_(5) Fe Si intoα-Al_(15)(Fe Mn)_(3)Si_(2)with various morphologies after the addition of *** Mn addition not only significantly reduced the volume fraction,equivalent diameter and interconnectivity of the Fe-rich phase but also greatly increased the sphericity,surface thickness,and distribution of the mean curvature and surface ***,the equivalent diameter ofα-Al_(15)(FeMn)_(3)Si_(2)had an inverse exponential function relationship with its *** 3D morphology ofα-Al_(15)(FeMn)_(3)Si_(2)can be summarized as massive and regular polyhedrons,hollow and regular polyhedrons,and multibranched *** fraction of the different 3D morphologies in each alloy is related to the Mn content,where excess Mn increased the number and volume fraction of the large Fe-rich particles with a low *** ductility of each alloy was significantly improved by the addition of Mn but gradually decreased when the Mn/Fe ratio exceeded *** increase in largeα-Al_(15)(Mn Fe)_(3)Si_(2)with a low sphericity was the main reason for the decreased ductility of alloys with a high Mn content.

Vegetation Change Prediction with Geo-Information Techniques in the Three Gorges Area of China

A computerized parametric methodology was applied to monitor, map, and estimate vegetation change in combination with '3S' (RS-remote sensing, GIS-geographic information systems, and GPS-global positioning system) technology and change detection techniques at a 1:50000 mapping scale in the Letianxi Watershed of western Hubei Province, China. Satellite images (Landsat TM 1997 and Landsat ETM 2002) and thematic maps were used to provide comprehensive views of surface conditions such as vegetation cover and land use change. With ER Mapper and ERDAS software, the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) was computed and then classified into six vegetation density classes. ARC/INFO and ArcView software were used along with field observation data by GPS for analysis. Results obtained using spatial analysis methods showed that NDVI was a valuable first cut indicator for vegetation and land use systems. A regression analysis revealed that NDVI explained 94.5% of the variations for vegetation cover in the largest vegetation area, indicating that the relationship between vegetation and NDVI was not a simple linear process. Vegetation cover increased in four of areas. This meant 60.9% of land area had very slight to slight vegetation change, while 39.1% had moderate to severe vegetation change. Thus, the study area, in general, was exposed to a high risk of vegetation cover change.

Low-temperature heat capacities of pyrimethanil decylate （ C22 H33 N3 O2 ） were precisely measured with an automated adiabatic calorimeter over the temperature range from 78 to 373 K. The sample was observed to melt at （311.04 ± 0.06） K. The molar enthalpy and entropy of fusion as well as the chemical purity of the compound were determined to be（45876± 12） J/mol, （147. 50 ±0. 05） J. mol^-1 · K^-1 and （99. 21 ±0. 03）% （mass fraction）, respectively. The extrapolated melting temperature for the absolutely pure compound obtained from fractional melting experiments is （311. 204±0. 035 ） K.

To promote charge transfer and separation for efficient photocatalysis,a direct Z-scheme heterostructure was constructed by coupling polymeric carbon nitride(PCN) and WO_(3).Interestingly,the obtained PCN/WO_(3)Z-scheme heterostructure could photocataly tic ally produce hydrogen and value-added chemicals(e.g.,formate and acetate) by reforming of plastic polylactic acid(PLA) in alkaline aqueous *** optimizing WO_(3) contents and reaction conditions,the obtained PCN/WO_(3)heterostructure exhibits much increased photocatalytic activity for PLA photoreforming under visible light,with hydrogen evolution rate reaching 402.90 μmol·g~(-1)·h~(-1),which is 3.5 times that of *** is revealed that the Z-scheme charge transfer between PCN and WO_(3) mainly contributes to the promoted charge separation and thus the improved photocatalytic ***,with h+and·OH experimentally evidenced as the predominant active species,a possible reaction pathway for the reforming of PLA into value-added chemicals(e.g.,formate and acetate)over PCN/WO_(3) Z-scheme heterostructure is cleared by monitoring the reaction intermediates and *** work paves a carbon neutrality and scalable route toward the synergistical production of hydrogen and value-added chemicals by utilizing and recycling plastic waste.

Prevention of Local Liver Cancer Recurrence after Surgery Using Multilayered Cisplatin-loaded Polylactide Electrospun Nanofibers

In this study a cisplatin-loaded, multilayered polylactide （PLA） electrospun nanofibers, with the structure of two layers of drug-loaded mat being sandwiched by three layers of blank mat, were designed for prolonged cisplatin release at surgical margin to prevent local cancer recurrence following surgical resection in a murine model. In vivo drug release and biodistribution study suggested that the multilayered fibrous mat displayed a slower cisplatin release behavior and a more stable drug rentention in the local tissue within 24 h than that of single-layered fibrous mat. By covering the surgical site with the multilayered fibrous mat following resection of subcutaneous liver cancer in mice, retarded tumor recurrence, prolonged survival time and less systemic toxicity were observed compared with other treatment groups.

Risk assessment and ranking of pesticide residues in Chinese pears

The presence of pesticide residues in pears is a serious health concern. This study presents the results from a 2-year investigation （2013-2014） that used gas chromatography, GS/MS and UPLC/MS-MS to measure the levels of 104 pesti- cides in 310 pear samples. In 93.2% of the samples, 43 pesticides were detected, of which the maximum residue levels （MRLs） were exceeded in 2.6% of the samples. Multiple residues （two to eight compounds） were present in 69.7% of the samples; one sample contained nine pesticides and one sample contained 10. Only 6.8% of the samples did not contain residues. To assess the health risks, the pesticide residue data have been combined with daily pear consumption data for children and adult populations. A deterministic model was used to assess the chronic and acute exposures based on the Joint Meeting on Pesticide Residues （JMPR） method. A potential acute risk was demonstrated for children in the case of bifenthrin, which was found to be present at 105.36% of the acute reference dose （ARfD） value. The long- term exposure of the Chinese consumer to pesticide residues through the consumption of raw pears was far below the acceptable daily intake （ADI） criterion. Additionally, the matrix ranking scheme was used to classify risk subgroups of pesticides and pear samples. In general, 95.5% of samples were deemed to be safe and nine pesticides were classified as being of a relatively high risk. The findings indicated that the occurrence of pesticide residues in pears should not be considered a serious public health problem. Nevertheless, a more detailed study is required for vulnerable consumer groups, especially children. Continuous monitoring of pesticides in pears and tighter regulation of pesticide residue standards are recommended.

The Electromagnetic Compatibility between FAST and Public Mobile Communication Stations and its Cognitive Using Frequency Strategy

To master the electromagnetic environment characteristics around the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST)and ensure a better ecological environment in the radio-quiet zone of FAST,we analyzed the radiation characteristics of the public communication stations around *** comparing the FAST received signal power from the communication stations and the interference protection threshold of the radio astronomy applications,we found that the total proportion of the communication stations exceeding the radio astronomy protection threshold is 69.01%.Furthermore,to fully protect the regular operation of FAST,we proposed four interference avoidance and frequency coordination strategies based on the cognitive ***:(1)increasing the operating frequency of the communication station;(2)adjusting the direction of the transmitter antennas;(3)reducing the height of the transmitter antennas;(4)decreasing the transmitting power of the communication *** a result,the impact on FAST can effectively be reduced,and the FAST's received power from the communication stations will be lower than the radio astronomy protection threshold by using the above mentioned four *** the analysis of the experiment,the prediction is consistent with the overall trend of the measurement,and using frequency strategies can significantly reduce the signal power at the receiving ***,we construct a quality evaluation system for frequency coordination and analyze the satisfaction of the four strategies under the four *** results show that adjusting the direction of the transmitter antennas has better satisfaction,and the maximum satisfaction is *** above research results can be further expanded to potentially improve the electromagnetic ecological environment around FAST and support the regular operation of FAST.
