Metabolites can directly reflect and modulate cell responses and phenotypical changes by influencing energy balances,intercellular signals,and many other cellular functions throughout the lifespan of cells.Taking into account the heterogeneity of cells,single-cell metabolite analysis offers an insight into the functional process within one cell.Microfluidics as a powerful tool has attracted significant interest in the single-cell metabolite analysis field.The microfluidic platform is possible to observe,classify,and stimulate individual cells.It can also transport single-cell to subsequent analysis steps in a fast and controllable way to determine and analyze the composition and content of metabolites.The reviews of topics in microfluidics for single-cell metabolite analysis have been published in the past few years.However,most of them focused on metabolite analysis with mass spectrometry.Here,we covered the advances of microfluidic devices for single-cell metabolite analysis,with a focus on single-cell isolation and manipulation.What is more,we summarized the detection methods and applications of single-cell metabolites.

A post-peak dilatancy model for soft rock and its application in deep tunnel excavation

The dilation angle is the most commonly used parameter to study nonlinear post-peak dilatancy(PPD)behavior and simulate surrounding rock deformation;however,simplified or constant dilatancy models are often used in numerical calculations owing to their simple mathematical forms.This study developed a PPD model for rocks(rock masses)based on the Alejanoe-Alonso(A-A)dilatancy model.The developed model comprehensively reflects the influences of confining pressure(σ_(3))and plastic shear strain(γ^(p)),with the advantages of a simple mathematical form,while requiring fewer parameters and demonstrating a clear physical significance.The overall fitting accuracy of the PPD model for 11 different rocks was found to be higher than that of the A-A model,particularly for Witwatersrand quartzite and jointed granite.The applicability and reliability of the PPD model to jointed granites and different scaled Moura coals were also investigated,and the model was found to be more suitable for the soft and large-scale rocks,e.***.deep rock mass.The PPD model was also successfully applied in studying the mechanical response of a circular tunnel excavated in strain-softening rock mass,and the developed semi-analytical solution was compared and verified with existing analytical solutions.The sensitivities of the rock dilatancy to γ^(p) and σ_(3) showed significant spatial variabilities along the radial direction of the surrounding rock,and the dilation angle did not exhibit a monotonical increasing or decreasing law from the elasticeplastic boundary to the tunnel wall,thereby presenting the σ3-or γ^(p)-dominated differential effects of rock dilatancy.Tunnel deformation parabolically or exponentially increased with increasing in situ stress(buried depth).The developed PPD model is promising to conduct refined numerical and analytical analyses for deep tunneling,which produces extensive plastic deformation and exhibits significant nonlinear post-peak behavior.

Highly active bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts accelerate the development of high-performance Zn-air battery,but suffer from the mismatched activities of oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and oxygen reduced reaction(ORR).Herein,highly integrated bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts,cobalt-tin alloys coated by nitrogen doped carbon(CoSn@NC)are prepared by MOFs-derived method.In this hybrid catalyst,the binary CoSn nanoalloys mainly contribute to highly active OER process while the Co(or Sn)-N-C serves as ORR active sites.Rational interaction between CoSn and NC donates more rapid reaction kinetics than Pt/C(ORR)and IrO_(2)(OER).Such CoSn@NC holds a promise as air-cathode electrocatalyst in Zn-air battery,superior to Pt/C+IrO_(2)catalyst.First-principles calculations predict that CoSn alloys can upgrade charge redistribution on NC and promote the transfer to reactants,thus optimizing the adsorption strength of oxygen-containing intermediates to boost the overall reactivity.The tuning of oxygenate adsorption by interactions between alloy and heteroatom-doped carbon can guide the design of bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts.

Simultaneous epitaxial growth of film and nanowire array on a substrate is of both scientific significance and practical importance for nanoscale optoelectronics. Nevertheless, in situ building conducting connection between individually isolated nanowires grown on insulating substrates is still challenging. Herein, we demonstrate a novel and facile strategy for the simultaneous epitaxial growth of nonpolar a-plane ZnO film and obliquely aligned nanowire array on Au-coated r-plane sapphire substrate. The morphology, structure, components, and optical properties of the as-synthesized ZnO nanostructures were investigated using field-emission scanning electron microscopy X-ray diffraction, field-emission transmission electron microscopy energy-dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray photo- electron spectroscopy, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. A cooperative growth mechanism is proposed： Au-catalyzed vapor transport initiates the co-occurrence of nonpolar a-plane and polar c-plane ZnO nuclei, and subsequently, the non-upward directed Au catalyst helps the nonpolar a-plane ZnO nuclei develop into a ZnO conductive film at the bottom and zinc self-catalyzed vapor-liquid-solid growth helps the polar c-plane ZnO nuclei develop simultaneously into obliquely aligned nanowire arrays. The proposed strategy realized in situ synthesis of nanowires with conductive connection and it can benefit the application of ZnO nanowires in optoelectronics.

Generative Adversarial Networks Based Digital Twin Channel Modeling for Intelligent Communication Networks

Integration of digital twin(DT)and wireless channel provides new solution of channel modeling and simulation,and can assist to design,optimize and evaluate intelligent wireless communication system and networks.With DT channel modeling,the generated channel data can be closer to realistic channel measurements without requiring a prior channel model,and amount of channel data can be significantly increased.Artificial intelligence(AI)based modeling approach shows outstanding performance to solve such problems.In this work,a channel modeling method based on generative adversarial networks is proposed for DT channel,which can generate identical statistical distribution with measured channel.Model validation is conducted by comparing DT channel characteristics with measurements,and results show that DT channel leads to fairly good agreement with measured channel.Finally,a link-layer simulation is implemented based on DT channel.It is found that the proposed DT channel model can be well used to conduct link-layer simulation and its performance is comparable to using measurement data.The observations and results can facilitate the development of DT channel modeling and provide new thoughts for DT channel applications,as well as improving the performance and reliability of intelligent communication networking.

There is growing interest in the integrated sensing and communication(ISAC)to extend the 5G+/6G network capabilities by introducing sensing capability.While the solutions for mono-static or bi-static ISAC have shown feasibility and benefits based on existing 5G physical layer design,whether and how to coordinate multiple ISAC devices to better exert networking performance are rarely discussed.3 rd Partnership Project(3GPP)has initiated the ISAC use cases study,and the follow-up studies for network architecture could be anticipated.In this article,we focus on gNB-based sensing mode and propose ISAC functional framework with given of highlevel service procedures to enable cellular based ISAC services.In the proposed ISAC framework,three types of network functions for sensing service as Sensing Function(SF),lightweight-Edge Sensing Function(ESF)and full-version-ESF are designed with interaction with network nodes to fulfill the latency requirements of ISAC use cases.Finally,with simulation evaluations and hardware testbed results,we further verify the performance benefit and feasibility to enable ISAC in 5G for the gNB-based sensing mode with new design on SF and related signaling protocols.

Due to their weak weather ability,the ageing process of organic silicone rubber composites remarkably influences the service performance of composite insulators and bushings,especially in high-voltage transmission lines.In this study,laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS)was used for analysing ageing composite insulator sheds for potential on-site application.A spectrum was recorded after each laser pulse and the element composition of ablated materials with different depth was observed.A calibration curve that revealed linear relationship between C,Si,Al spectrum line intensity and corresponding element concentration was established with the result of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy test.Regularly line intensities of C,Si and Al changed dramatically from the surface to the bulk layer.Given the number of laser pulses with varying element concentrations,as well as the linear relationship described above,the depth of ageing layer could be calculated immediately.Also,the result was verified by secondary ion mass spectrometry and scanning electron microscope.LIBS method can be a promising and efficient technique to assess the ageing state of composite materials on site.

Traditional vibrating screen usually adopts the linear centralized excitation mode,which causes the difficulty in particles loosening and low screening efficiency.The variable elliptical vibrating screen(VEVS)trajectory is regulated to adapt the material mass along the direction of the screen length,improving the particles distribution as well as the screening efficiency.In this work,a theoretical model was developed for analyzing the screen surface motion law during VEVS-based screening process.An equation was obtained to show the relationship between the horizontal amplitude and the vertical amplitude.The materials kinetic characteristics were studied by using high-speed camera during screening process.Compared with equal-amplitude screen(EAS),the material moving velocity was increased by 13.03%on the first half but decreased by 3.52% on the second half,and the total screening time was reduced by 9.42% by using VEVS.In addition,-6 mm screening test was carried out.At the length of VEVS equaled to 1.2 m,the screening efficiency and the total misplaced material content were 92.50% and 2.90%,respectively.However,the screening efficiency was 89.91% and the total misplaced material content was 3.76% during EAS-based screening process.Furthermore,when external moisture is 5.96%,the screening efficiency of VEVS could reach 86.95%.The 2 TKB50113 type VEVS with double-layered screen surface used in Huoshizui Coal Mine was 5.0 m in width and 11.3 m in length.The areas of single layer and double layer were 56.5 and 113 m~2,respectively.In industrial production,the processing capacity was 2500-3000 t/h and the screening efficiency was larger than 90%.
