Single stage and double-stage interrupted hot compression tests for simulating hot rolling have been carried out for a Ti-containing HSLA steel (10Ti). Physical simulation of hot rolling was in progress utilizing a Thermecmastor-Z simulator in 850-1150 degree C and strain rate of 0.1-60 s** minus **1. A model for residual strain ratio lambda was designed, and a model of flow stress considering residual strain has been obtained. Paleosalinity is vital for the paleoenvironmental reconstruction and affects the formation of source *** lower-middle sections of the third member of Eocene Shahejie formation(Es3M-L)constitute the most important source rock layer in Laizhou Bay ***,the paleosalinity of the depositional water in which Es3M-L submembers are deposited remains unclear.A series of integrated experiments,including major and trace elements,X-ray diffraction,total organic carbon,and Rock-Eval,was performed to reveal the paleosalinity and its relationship with organic matter(OM).Various inorganic proxies(Sr/Ba,Rb/K,B/Ga,Walker’s paleosalimeter,Adam’s paleosalimeter,and Couch’s paleosalimeter)were employed to determine the paleosalinity of *** differences existed in the ***’s paleosalimeter is the most reliable and qualitative approach for Laizhou Bay *** from the lake center(depocenter)and margin showed paleosalinities from 4.92 wt‰to 9.73 wt‰,suggesting a ubiquitous brackish(oligohaline-mesohaline)water body in the *** enrichment in samples indicates an oxygen-depleted(suboxic or anoxic)*** increase in salinity has a certain but non-significant positive correlation with oxygen *** condition may be attributed to the weak stratification of the water column in brackish water ***,paleosalinity has a weak and indirect relationship with OM accumulation during the deposition of Es3M-L submembers in Laizhou Bay Sag.

The tensile behaviour of soil plays a significantly important role in various engineering applications. Compacted soils used in geotechnical constructions such as dams and clayey liners in waste containment facilities can suffer from cracking due to tensile failure. In order to increase soil tensile strength, discrete fibre reinforcement technique was proposed. An innovative tensile apparatus was developed to deter- mine the tensile strength characteristics of fibre reinforced soil. The effects of fibre content, dry density and water content on the tensile strength were studied. The results indicate that the developed test apparatus was applicable in determining tensile strength of soils. Fibre inclusion can significantly in- crease soil tensile strength and soil tensile failure ductility. The tensile strength basically increases with increasing fibre content. As the fibre content increases from 0% to 0.2%, the tensile strength increases by 65.7%. The tensile strength of fibre reinforced soil increases with increasing dry density and decreases with decreasing water content. For instance, the tensile strength at a dry density of 1.7 Mg/m^3 is 2.8 times higher than that at 1.4 Mg/m^3. It decreases by 30% as the water content increases from 14.5% to 20.5%. Furthermore, it is observed that the tensile strength of fibre reinforced soil is dominated by fibre pull-out resistance, depending on the interracial mechanical interaction between fibre surface and soil matrix.

The mechanical behaviors of high Mo austenitic stainless steel OOCr20Nil8Mo6Cu[N] have been investigated using the methods of hot compression simulation test on the Thermecmaster-Z simulator. The dynamic recrystallization kinetic equation was established, Avrami coefficient n lies in between 0.9～2 depending on deformation parameters. A perfect flow stress model considering dynamic recrystallization was also established. Dynamic recrystallization tends to complete at 1050℃ and high strain rate, but at temperature below 950℃, it is hard to occur. Double-stage interrupt compression tests were carried out. Activation energy for static and metadynamic re-crystallization have been obtained respectively (QSRX=483.7, QMDEX=253.5 kJ/mol). Avrami coefficient of MDRX is about 0.5, and t.0.5-kinetics equations of SRX and MDRX have also been constructed. The evolution of microstructures during interrupt compression deformation was investigated. Static and metadynamic recrystaltlzation is essential to improve plasticity, at temperature above 1000℃ increasing interpass time has advantage for static and metadynamic recrystallization.

The surface polishing for silicon carbide （SIC） substrates was investigated and results were presented for mechanical polishing （MP） and chemo-mechanical polishing （CMP）. High quality surfaces were obtained after CMP with colloidal silica. The removal mechanism of scratches in MP and detailed physical and chemical process during CMP were analyzed. The effects of MP and CMP on the surface roughness were assessed by optical microscopy （OM）, atomic force microscopy （AFM） and step profilometry. KOH etching and high resolution X-ray diffractometry （H RXRD） were applied to evaluate the subsurface damage of 6H-SiC substrates.

BACKGROUND： Carotid arterial reconstruction is hard to cure the extensive lesions of carotid arteries and subclavian arteries in patients with brachiocephalic arteritis; however, transthoracic arterial bypass surgery provides an opportunity for the treatment of brachiocephalic arteritis. OBJECTIVE： To report the improving effects of transthoracic arterial bypass surgery on the clinical symptoms of severe cerebral ischemia induced by brachiocephalic arteritis and observe the occurrence of complications after the intervention. DESIGN： Case observation. SETTING： Department of Vascular Surgery, Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. PARTICIPANTS： Fifteen patients with Takayasu arteritis, including 1 male and 14 females, were selected from Department of Vascular Surgery, Wuhan Union Hospital from June 2003 to June 2007. Their ages ranged from 16 to 37 years. All patients were finally diagnosed by clinical histories, health examinations and color Doppler detection. All patients provided the confirmed consent. METHODS： All patients had received transthoracic artificial vascular bypass surgery. Among them, 6 patients had the bridge from ascending aorta to bilateral axillary arteries to lateral internal carotid artery; 3 from ascending aorta to bilateral axillary arteries; 5 from ascending aorta to lateral axillary artery to lateral internal carotid artery; In particular, one patient combining with abdominal aorta occlusion had received two step surgical interventions. In the first step, bridging surgery was performed from ascending aorta to bilateral axillary arteries to lateral internal carotid artery; in the second step, patients received left axillofemoral bypass.
