“One stone,two birds”solvent system to fabricate microcrystalline cellulose–Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)nanocomposite film as a flexible dielectric and thermally conductive material

A strategy for fabricating microcrystalline cellulose–Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)(MCC–MXene)nanocomposite films with high relative permittivity,high thermal conductivity,and excellent mechanical properties was *** MCC–MXene nanocomposite film was fabricated by casting a solution containing N,N-dimethylacetamide/lithium chloride(DMAc/LiCl)-soluble MCC and DMAcdispersible MXene nanosheets,followed by humidity control *** MXene nanosheets greatly enhanced the permittivity of the nanocomposite films owing to interfacial ***,the nanocomposite film with 20 wt.%MXene content achieved a desirable permittivity of 71.4 at 102 Hz(a 770%improvement against that of neat cellulose),while the dielectric loss only increased by 1.8 times(from 0.39 to 0.70).The obtained nanocomposite films with 20 wt.%and 30 wt.%MXene exhibited remarkable in-plane thermal conductivities of 8.523 and 9.668 W∙m^(−1)∙K^(−1),respectively,owing to the uniform dispersion and selfalignment of the MXene layered ***,the uniformly dispersed MXene nanosheets in the MCC network with interfacial interaction(hydrogen bonding)and mechanical entanglement endowed the nanocomposite films with excellent mechanical properties and ***,the thermal stability,water resistance,and antibacterial properties of the nanocomposite films were effectively improved with the introduction of ***,using DMAc/LiCl as the solvent system not only improves the compatibility between MCC and MXene but also avoids the problem of easy oxidation of MXene in aqueous *** the high stability of the MCC–MXene solution and enhanced properties of the MCC–MXene films,the proposed strategy manifests great potential for fabricating natural biomass-based dielectric materials.

Change in model for end-stage liver disease score at two weeks,as an indicator of mortality or liver transplantation at 60 days in acute-on-chronic liver failure

Background:Acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)is characterised by a sudden deterioration of underlying chronic liver disease,resulting in increased rates of mortality and liver *** prognostication can benefit optimal allocation of ***:ACLF was defined as per the disease criteria of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the *** discharge summaries from between January 2001 and April 2013 were *** primary outcome was mortality or liver transplantation within 60 days from onset of ***‘model for end-stage liver disease’(MELD)score and change in MELD at Weeks 1,2 and 4 were reviewed in order to identify the earliest point for prediction of mortality or liver ***:Clinical data were collected on 53 subjects who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion *** 60 days from presentation,20 patients(37.7%)died and 4(7.5%)underwent liver *** MELD of-2 after 2 weeks was 75.0%sensitive and 75.9%specific for predicting mortality or liver *** the MELD score did not increase at 2 weeks,predictive chance of survival was 93.8%over the next 60 *** change at 1 week showed poor sensitivity and *** at 4 weeks was too late for ***:Change in MELD score at 2 weeks provides an early opportunity for prognostication in ACLF.A MELD score that does not deteriorate by Week 2 would predict 93.8%chance of survival for the next 60 *** finding warrants further validation in larger cohort studies.

Hwangryunhaedoktang exerts anti-inflammation on LPS-induced NO production by suppressing MAPK and NF-κB activation in RAW264.7 macrophages

OBJECTIVE： This study aimed to evaluate whether Hwangryunhaedoktang （HHT）, a herbal compound, has an inhibitory effect on lipopolysaccharide （LPS）-induced inflammation in RAW264.7 macrophages. METHODS： The effects of HHT were evaluated by confirming nitric oxide （NO） production and expression of inducible NO synthase （iNOS） and mitogen-activated protein kinases （MAPKs） in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages via the Griess assay, Western blotting, and real-time reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Western blot analyses and luciferase assays were used to evaluate whether HHT has an effect on the phosphorylation and translocation of nuclear factor-κB （NF-κB）. The secretion and expression of tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α） and interleukin-6 （IL-6） were determined via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and Western blot analyses. RESULTS： HHT suppressed LPS-induced NO production and expression of iNOS in a dose-dependent manner. Additionally, MAPKs activation was also attenuated via inhibition of phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1/2, c-Jun N-terminal kinase and p38 which were related to inflammatory pathway. Furthermore, HHT also effectively attenuated NF-κB activation and its translocation to the nucleus, a process that is closely linked to inflammation. LPS normally induced the expression of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-6, but the secretion and expression of TNF-α and IL-6 were significantly attenuated by pretreating the cells with HHT. CONCLUSION： HHT suppressed LPS-induced NO production by blocking the activation of NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways in RAW264.7 macrophages. Furthermore, HHT may have an anti-inflammatory effect by suppressing the LPS-induced secretion of TNF-α and IL-6. Therefore, the traditional herbal formula HHT might be a useful potential therapeutic agent for inflammation.

Endoscopic fibrin glue injection for closure of pancreatocutaneous fistula following transgastric endoscopic necrosectomy

Transgastric endoscopic necrosectomy has been recently introduced as the effective and alternative management of infected pancreatic necrosis and pancreatic abscess. However,up to 40% of patients who undergo endoscopic necrosectomy may need an additional percutaneous approach for subsequent peripancreatic fluid collection or non-resolution of pancreatic necrosis. This percutaneous approach may lead to persistent pancreatocutaneous fistula,which remains a serious problem and usually requires prolonged hospitalization,or even open-abdominal surgery. We describe the first case of pancreatocutaneous fistula and concomitant abdominal wall defect following transgastric endoscopic necrosectomy and percutaneous drainage,which were endoscopically closed with fibrin glue injection via the necrotic cavity.

Involvement of heme oxygenase-1 induction in anti-vascular inflammation effects of Xanthoceras sorbifolia in human umbilical vein endothelial cells

OBJECTIVE: To define the effects of Xanthoceras sorbifolia(EXS) on vascular inflammation and the mechanisms in endothelial ***: Vascular protective effects of an ethanol extract of seeds from EXS(1-50 μg/mL) against tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)-induced vascularinflammation were examined in human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs).RESULTS: EXS significantly decreased TNF-α-induced expression of cell adhesion molecules, such as intracellular adhesion molecule-1, vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, and endothelial cell selectin,in a dose-dependent manner. Pre-treatment with EXS significantly inhibited translocation and transcriptional activity of nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB) increased by TNF-α. EXS also significantly inhibited formation of intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS). Moreover, the vascular protective effects of EXS were linked to up-regulation of heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) and nuclear factor E2-related factor-2(Nrf-2) expression. EXS-induced HO-1 expression was significantly decreased in SnPP(HO-1 inhibitor)-and HO-1 siRNA-treated cells, whereas an increase was found in cobalt protoporphyrin IX(CoPP)(HO-1 inducer)-treated cells. In addition, pretreatment with EXS increased HO-1 and Nrf-2 expression under TNF-α stimulation with or without N-acetyl-L-cysteine. Furthermore, the inhibitory effects of EXS on TNF-α-induced vascular inflammation were partially reversed in SnPP-and of HO-1siRNA-treated cells but increased by ***: These results suggest that EXS may have important implications for prevention of vascular complications associated with vascular inflammation by inhibition of the NF-κB/ROS pathway and activation of the Nrf-2/HO-1 pathway.

Fast interfacial kinetics derived from bicontinuous three-dimensional(3D)architecture is a strategic feature for achieving fast-charging lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).One of the main reasons is its large active surface and short diffusion ***,understanding of unusual electrochemical properties still remain great challenge due to its *** this study,we proposed a nickel–tin compound(Ni_(3)Sn_(4))supported by 3D Nickel scaffolds as main frame because the Ni_(3)Sn_(4) clearly offers a higher reversible capacity and stable cycling performance than bare tin(Sn).In order to verify the role of Ni,atomic-scale simulation based on density functional theory systematically addressed to the reaction mechanism and structural evolution of Ni_(3)Sn_(4) during the lithiation *** findings are that Ni enables Ni_(3)Sn_(4) to possess higher mechanical stability in terms of reactive flow stress,subsequently lead to improve Li storage *** study elucidates an understanding of the lithiation mechanism of Ni_(3)Sn_(4) and provides a new perspective for the design of high-capacity and high-power 3D anodes for fast-charging LIBs.

Bound states in the continuum(BICs)and Fano resonances in planar photonic lattices,including metasurfaces and photonic-crystal slabs,have been studied extensively in recent ***,the BICs and Fano resonances are associated with the second stop bands open at the second-order Γ *** paper addresses the fundamental properties of the fourth stop band accompanied by BICs at the third-order Γ point in one-dimensional leakymode photonic *** the fourth stop band,one band edge mode suffers radiation loss,thereby generating a Fano resonance,while the other band edge mode becomes a nonleaky *** fourth stop band is controlled primarily by the Bragg processes associated with the first,second,and fourth Fourier harmonic components of the periodic dielectric constant *** interplay between these three major processes closes the fourth band gap and induces a band flip whereby the leaky and BIC edges transit across the fourth band *** the fourth stop band,an accidental BIC is formed owing to the destructive interplay between the first and second Fourier *** the fourth band gap closes with strongly enhanced radiative Q factors,Dirac cone dispersions can appear at the third-order Γ point.

Inhibitory effects of coronary vasodilator papaverine on heterologously-expressed HERG currents in Xenopus oocytes
