AIM:To investigate and identify prevalent hepatitis B virus(HBV) genotypes and to explore lamivudine-resistant mutations among treated and untreated patients in ***:A total of 107 cases with chronic hepatitis B were recruited from different medical centers in *** tests were preformed for all cases using a microparticle enzyme *** Genotyping was performed for 70 cases using Line probe genotyping *** YMDD mutations were explored for 20 cases(4 were lamivudine naive) using the INNO-LiPA HBV DR ***:Genotype D was the only detected genotype.A total of 6 YMDD mutations were detected in 5 treated patients(31%) while one mutation was detected in the naive *** percent of cases were positive for HBeAg and had statistically significant higher levels of serum ***:HBV genotype D appears to be the only circulating type in Jordanian *** YMDD mutations were detected in 31% of lamivudine-treated cases with similar patterns to those found in the *** also found a relatively low prevalence of HBeAg expression among examined cases(17%).Awareness of these serologic,genotypic and resistance patterns might help in the formulation of management plans and for predicting clinical *** larger scale studies are needed to confirm our results and to examine possible associations among clinical,serologic,and genetic patterns of HBV infections in Jordan.

The trade-off between efficiency and stability has limited the application of TiO_(2)as a catalyst due to its poor surface ***,we present a modification of a TiO_(2)layer with highly stable Sub-5 nm Fe_(2)O_(3)nanoparticles(NP)by modulating its structure-surface reactivity relationship to attain efficiency-stability balance via a voltage-assisted oxidation *** situ simultaneous oxidation of the Ti substrate and Fe precursor using high-energy plasma driven by high voltage resulted in uniform distribution of Fe_(2)O_(3)NP embedded within porous TiO_(2)*** surface characterizations with density functional theory demonstrated an improved electronic transition in TiO_(2)due to the presence of surface defects from reactive oxygen species and possible charge transfer from Ti to Fe;it also unexpectedly increased the active site in the TiO_(2)layer due to uncoordinated electrons in Sub-5 nm Fe_(2)O_(3)NP/TiO_(2)catalyst,thereby enhancing the adsorption of chemical functional groups on the *** unique embedded structure exhibited remarkable improvement in reducing 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol,achieving approximately 99%efficiency in 20 min without stability decay after 20 consecutive cycles,outperforming previously reported TiO_(2)-based *** finding proposes a modified-electrochemical strategy enabling facile construction of TiO_(2)with nanoscale oxides extandable to other metal oxide systems.

Due to the exponential growth of video data,aided by rapid advancements in multimedia *** became difficult for the user to obtain information from a large video *** process of providing an abstract of the entire video that includes the most representative frames is known as static video *** method resulted in rapid exploration,indexing,and retrieval of massive video *** propose a framework for static video summary based on a Binary Robust Invariant Scalable Keypoint(BRISK)and bisecting K-means clustering *** current method effectively recognizes relevant frames using BRISK by extracting keypoints and the descriptors from video *** video frames’BRISK features are clustered using a bisecting K-means,and the keyframe is determined by selecting the frame that is most near the cluster *** applying any clustering parameters,the appropriate clusters number is determined using the silhouette *** were carried out on a publicly available open video project(OVP)dataset that contained videos of different *** proposed method’s effectiveness is compared to existing methods using a variety of evaluation metrics,and the proposed method achieves a trade-off between computational cost and quality.

Road transport is currently one of the most important sectors affecting sustainable development and the improvement of the population’s standard of living. In some sub-Saharan African countries, including Burundi, the transport structure is vulnerable, under attack, or even damaged or destroyed. This is prompting decision-makers to look for every possible way to enable dynamic management of the road system, as well as the collection of tax revenues attributable to this sector. To reach this stage, we postulate that the introduction of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) into the road tax and fee collection process would make a significant contribution (road safety, zero cash on silk Safety Officers, payment of a fine, eradication of road corruption etc.) to the digitization of the various transport sectors. As far as the city of Bujumbura is concerned (our field of intervention), the applicability of the present System could thus meet the expectations of the decision-maker, certain drivers and, by the same token, contribute to the promotion of Digital Technology in Burundi.

Heterocyclic compounds are the promising biological compounds as nature-friendly for the corrosion protection of metallic *** this work,three heterocyclic compounds such as 1-azanaphthalene-8-ol(8-AN),2-methylquinoline-8-ol(8-MQ),and 8-quinolinol-5-sulfonic acid(8-QSA)were used as green compounds,and their anti-corrosion performance for AZ31 Mg in saline water was discussed on the basis of impedance interpretation and surface *** found that the electrochemical performance was improved in the order of 8-AN>8-MQ>8-QSA,demonstrating the electron donor effect of N-heterocycles to form coordination complexes on the magnesium *** the electrochemical performance,the protective layer constructed at the optimal concentration reinforces the barrier against aggressive environments,with potential inhibition efficiency of 87.4%,99.0%,and 99.9%for 8-QSA,8-MQ,and 8-AN,*** chemical parameters and electron density distribution for free organic species in the absence and presence of Mg^(2+)cation were evaluated using density functional theory(DFT).Upon the formation of coordination complexes between organic compound and Mg^(2+),energy gap underwent change about ΔE=5.7 eV in the 8-AN/Mg^(2+)***,the adsorption of heterocyclic compounds on Mg surface reveals the formation of strong covalent bonds with Mg atoms,which further confirmed by the electron density difference and projected density of states *** on theoretical calculations,three inhibitors can adsorb on the metal surface in both parallel and perpendicular orientations via C,O and N *** the parallel configuration,the C-Mg,N-Mg and O-Mg bond distances are between 2.11 and 2.25˚A,whereas the distances in the case of perpendicular adsorption are between 2.20 and 2.40˚A(covalent bonds via O and N atoms).The results indicated that parallel configurations are energetically more stable,in which the adsorption energies are-4.48 eV(8-AN),-4.28 eV(8-MQ)and-3.82 e

Desalination is considered a viable method to overcome the issue of water scarcity either from waste water or seawater. For this purpose, this study employed a facile approach to develop surface immobilized oxidized-MWCNTs(o-MWCNTs) onto crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) membrane. Firstly, modified polysulphone substrate was synthesized on to which crosslinked PVA layer was spread onto it. PVA layer act as active layer for surface immobilization of o-MWCNTs in varying concentration. The functional group analysis, morphology and roughness of membranes surface was conducted out using FTIR, SEM and AFM respectively. The results showed that modified membranes, immobilized o-MWCNTs enhanced the salt rejection(Na_(2)SO_(4)) upto 99.8%. After contacting with Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus for 2.5 h the bacteria mortalities of the fabricated membrane could reach 96.9%. Furthermore, the antibiofouling tests showed that OP-MWCNTs(1-5) modified membranes have higher anti-biofouling property than the control membrane.

Control of chemical composition and incorporation of multiple metallic elements into a single metal nanoparticle(NP)in an alloyed or a phase-segregated state hold potential scientific merit;however,developing libraries of such structures using effective strategies is challenging owing to the thermodynamic immiscibility of repelling constituent metallic ***,we present a one-pot interfacial plasma-discharge-driven(IP-D)synthesis strategy for fabricating stable high-entropy-alloy(HEA)NPs exhibiting ultrasmall size on a porous support ***,an electric field was applied for 120 s to enhance the incorporation of multiple metallic elements(i.e.,CuAgFe,CuAgNi,and CuAgNiFe)into ally ***,NPs were attached to a porous magnesium oxide surface via rapid *** solar light as the sole energy input,the CuAgNiFe catalyst was investigated as a reusable and sustainable material exhibiting excellent catalytic performance(100%conversion and 99% selectivity within1 min for a hydrogenation reaction)and consistent activity even after 20 cycles for a reduction reaction,considerably outperforming the majority of the conventional ***,the proposed strategy establishes a novel method for designing and synthesizing highly efficient and stable catalysts for the convertion of nitroarenes to anilines via chemical reduction.

This study pursues the objective of analyzing and verifying the knowledge of the agents of the Institut Supérieur Pédagogique/ISP-Bukavu (TTC = Teachers’ training College) in relation to the practical flaws resulting from the lack of knowledge of the observable rules in information system security. In a clearer way, it aims to verify the level of knowledge of the vulnerabilities, to verify the level of use of the antivirus software, to analyze the frequency of use of Windows update, the use of an anti-spyware software as well as a firewall software on the computer. Through a survey conducted on a sample of 100 agents of the Institut Supérieur Pédagogique/ISP-Bukavu (TTC = Teachers’ training College), the results revealed that 48% of the sample has no knowledge on computer vulnerabilities;for the use of antivirus software: 47% do not use the antivirus;for Windows update: 29% never update the Windows operating system;for anti-spyware: 48% never use;for the firewall: 50% are not informed. In fine, our results proposed a protection model VMAUSP (Vulnerability Measurability Measures Antivirus, Update, Spyware and Firewall) to users based on the behavioral approach, learning how the model works.

The Arabian Gulf Countries(AGC)are strongly reliant on the economic export of fossil fuels,while being vulnerable to climate change that is resulting in temperature increase,air pollution and sea-level rise,and threatening the health of the population and *** agreement with the Paris Accords,most of the AGC have published short-term goals to reduce their carbon emissions in the coming *** relation to these goals,this study explores the potential CO_(2)reduction,avoidance and removal in the region,by comparing a business-as-usual(BAU)scenario to three decarbonization scenarios for the power *** 2018,the total greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions in the AGC were~1333 MtCO_(2)/yr and are expected to rise to 1568 MtCO_(2)/yr in 2030 following a BAU scenario,which is likely to be reduced to 1522 MtCO_(2)/yr in 2030 by following the countries’*** issued plans for the coming decades that focus on increasing the share of renewable energy in their grid *** three decarbonization scenarios presented in this study focus on supply-side technological *** retirement of the oldest natural-gas and oil power plants could lead to a total emissions reduction of~75 MtCO_(2)/yr,without accounting for the embodied carbon emissions associated with renewable *** addition,the implementation of point-source capture at power plants expected to retire in>10 years’time could avoid emissions of~240 MtCO_(2)/yr,provided the CO_(2)is permanently sequestered in appropriate geological *** region also shows high-quality solar resources and large CO_(2)-storage potential that could couple to direct air-capture plants to offset difficult-to-avoid *** last scenario has the potential to ultimately result in net negative emissions.
