Radar-based Characteristics and Formation Environment of Supercells in the Landfalling Typhoon Mujigae in 2015

This study presents the radar-based characteristics and formation environment of supercells spawned by the tornadic landfalling Typhoon Mujigae(2015)in October *** than 100 supercells were identified within a 24-hour period around the time of the typhoon’s landfall,of which three were tornadic with a rotational intensity clearly stronger than those of non-tornadic *** identified supercells were concentrated within a relatively small area in the northeast quadrant beyond 140 km from the typhoon *** supercells were found more likely to form over flat topography and were difficult to maintain in mountainous *** the study period,more supercells formed offshore than *** mesocyclones of the identified supercells were characterized by a small diameter generally less than 5 km and a shallow depth generally less than 4 km above ground *** environmental analysis revealed that the northeast quadrant had the most favorable conditions for the genesis of supercell in this typhoon *** nondimensional supercell composite parameter(SCP)and entraining-SCP(E-SCP)were effective in separating supercell from non-supercell *** though the atmosphere in the typhoon’s northeast quadrant was characterized by an E-SCP/SCP value supportive of supercell organization,orography was an impeditive factor for the supercell *** findings support the use of traditional parameters obtained from midlatitude supercells to assess the supercell potential in a tropical cyclone envelope.

Good toilet hygiene can reduce the risk of pathogenic *** flushing,pathogenic bacteria can be spread by the water droplets,especially in the toilet *** coli(***)is one of the frequently occurring Gram-negative bacterial pathogens found in the toilet *** this study,we investigated the potential *** activity of some azobenzene *** them,compound 2,with the heterocyclic nitrogen in both phenyl rings,showed the strongest antibacterial effect on ***,with the minimum inhibitory concentration of 80μg/mL and the minimum bactericidal concentration of 320μg/*** 2 displayed a comparative zone of clearance[(14.50±2.29)mm]to that of ampicillin[(13.17±1.76)mm].The reactive oxygen species(ROS)assay suggested that compound 2 might induce the loss of bacteria via the oxidative stress by eliciting the generation of intracellular *** further examined the potential cytotoxicity of compound 2 to the human skin HaCaT *** 2-treated skin cells showed a good maintenance of cellular morphology and a clear definition of cell nuclei,with a satisfactory cell viability(ca.90%)at 80μg/***,compound 2 would be a possible antibacterial coating agent for the surface sanitizer of the toilet seats to inhibit the growth of ***.

A fuzzy risk assessment model used for assessing the introduction of African swine fever into Australia from overseas

African swine fever(ASF)is a contagious and lethal hemorrhagic disease with a high case fatality *** 2007,ASF has been spreading into many countries,especially in Europe and *** that there is no effective vaccine and treatment to deal with ASF,prevention is an important way for a country to avoid the effects of the *** is currently ASF-free but the disease has been reported in many neighboring countries,such as Indonesia,Timor-Leste,and Papua New ***,it is necessary for Australia to maintain hypervigilance to prevent the ASF *** this paper,we propose the use of fuzzy concepts to establish a fuzzy risk assessment model to predict the ASF introduction risk in *** the analysis,the international passengers(IP)and international import trade(IIT)are concluded as the two main ASF introduction factors based on transmission features and past *** the established fuzzy risk assessment model based on the analysis of the 2019 and 2020 data,the risks of ASF introduction into Australia are considered to be *** model further deduced that the Asian region was the major source of potential ***,in order to validate the effectiveness of the established fuzzy risk assessment model,the qualitative data from the Department for Environment,Food&Rural Affairs of the United Kingdom was *** the validation results,it has shown that the results were consistent when the same data is adopted,and thus proved that the functionality of the established fuzzy risk assessment model for assessing the risk in Australia.

Comparison of vegetable oils on the uptake of lutein and zeaxanthin by ARPE-19 cells

AIM:To compare the effect of vegetable oils on the uptake of lutein and zeaxanthin by adult retinal pigment epithelial(ARPE)-19 cells in ***:ARPE-19 cells were cultured in Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium-F-12 supplemented with 10%foetal bovine serum and 1%penicillin–streptomycin in a humidified 5%CO_(2) incubator maintained at 37℃.Cells were treated with 247μmol/L lutein,49μmol/L zeaxanthin and 1%(v/v)of either coconut oil,corn oil,peanut oil,olive oil,sunflower oil,soybean oil,castor oil,or linseed oil for *** and zeaxanthin concentration in the cells were quantified by high performance liquid ***:Among the oils tested,the highest lutein and zeaxanthin uptake was observed with coconut oil while the lowest was observed with linseed ***:ARPE-19 uptake of lutein and zeaxanthin are found to be dependent on the type of oils.

Histone methyltransferase enzyme SET7 and mixed-lineage leukemia protein(MLL)complex are crucial co-activators of androgen receptor(AR)and have recently emerged as potential therapeutic targets for advanced castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC).In this study,we described the identification of a rhodium-based hybrid complex(SM_1)as a potent blocker of AR activity via simultaneously inhibiting SET7 and MLL complex activity,which makes it a potential lead scaffold for CPRC drug development.

We propose an end-to-end dehazing model based on deep learning(CNN network)and uses the dehazing model re-proposed by AOD-Net based on the atmospheric scattering model for *** to the previously proposed dehazing network,the dehazing model proposed in this paper make use of the FPN network structure in the field of target detection,and uses five feature maps of different sizes to better obtain features of different proportions and different sub-regions.A large amount of experimental data proves that the dehazing model proposed in this paper is superior to previous dehazing technologies in terms of PSNR,SSIM,and subjective visual *** addition,it achieved a good performance in speed by using EfficientNet B0 as a feature *** find that only using high-level semantic features can not effectively obtain all the information in the *** FPN structure used in this paper can effectively integrate the high-level semantics and the low-level semantics,and can better take into account the global and local *** five feature maps with different sizes are not simply weighted and *** order to keep all their information,we put them all together and get the final features through decode *** the same time,we have done a comparative experiment between ResNet with FPN and EfficientNet with *** is proved that EfficientNet with BiFPN can obtain image features more ***,EfficientNet with BiFPN is chosen as our network feature extraction.

Viral integration detection strategies and a technical update on Virus-Clip

Oncovirus infection is crucial in human *** oncoviruses can lead to structural variations in the human genome known as viral genomic integration,which can contribute to *** viral integration detection tools differ in their underlying algorithms pinpointing different aspects or features of viral integration *** discuss about major procedures in performing viral integration *** importantly,we provide a technical update on Virus-Clip to facilitate its usage on the latest human genome builds(hg19 and hg38)and the adoption of multi-thread mode for faster initial read *** comparing the execution of Virus-Clip using single-thread and multi-thread modes of read alignment on targeted-panel sequencing data of HBV-associated hepatocellular carcinoma patients,we demonstrate the marked improvement of multi-thread mode in terms of significantly reduced execution time,while there is negligible difference in memory *** together,with the current update of Virus-Clip,it will continue supporting the in silico detection of oncoviral integration for better understanding of various human malignancies.
