Numerical investigation on the effects of current headings on vortex induced motions of a semi-submersible

In this paper,numerical simulations on vortex-induced motions(VIM)of a semi-submersible at two different current headings are conducted over a wide range of current *** simulations are performed with the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)solver VIM-FOAM-SJTU which is an in-house solver developed based on the OpenFOAM *** turbulent flows are resolved with a shear stress transport-delayed detached eddy simulation(SST-DDES)*** decay tests for transverse and yaw motion are performed in calm still water to make sure the equivalent stiffness is setup *** the results of VIM,including motion response,forces and moments,and flow patterns are presented and analyzed *** including transverse,in-line and yaw motion at different current headings and velocities are *** vorticity in the wake regions at different time stamps are also illustrated for different current headings and velocities.

Spherical Li-rich lithium manganese oxide（LMO） spinel material was synthesized by an ion implanted method assisted by polyalcohol doped with Niobium and Phosphate *** material was characterized by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction and BET specific surface area *** electrochemical performances were investigated with galvanostatic techniques and cyclic *** synthesis process was investigated with Tg/*** results show that the lithium ion can be immersed into the pore of manganese dioxide at a low temperature with the ion implanted *** prepared materials have a higher discharge capacity and better crystallization than those prepared by solid phase *** doped Nb can improve the capacity of the Li-rich LMO spinel and reinforce the crystal growth along（111） and（400） *** crystal grains show circular and smooth morphology,which makes the specific surface area greatly ***-doped LMO spinel exhibits good high-rate capacity and structure *** prepared Li（1.09）Mn（1.87）Nb（0.031）O（3.99）（PO4）（0.021）delivers a discharge capacity of 119mAhg^-1 at 0.2C（1C=148mAg^-1） and 112.8 mAhg^-1 at 10 C,the discharge capacity retention reaches 98% at 1 ℃ after 50 cycles at 25 ℃ and 94% at 55 ℃.

The effect of Al and Zn additives on the grain size of Mg-3Ni-2MnO_(2) alloy was *** nanostructured Mg-3Ni-2MnO_(2) and Mg-3Ni-2MnO_(2)-3Al-Zn were made by ball milling process under hydrogen *** XRD results and TEM analysis reveal that Al and Zn additives almost have no effect on the grain size of Mg-3Ni-2MnO_(2) *** present study provides us a feasibility of producing nano-structured magnesium alloys,based on hydrogenation,disproportionation,desorption and recombination(HDDR),by adding beneficial elements to hydrogen storage materials.

Nanostructured Mg-3Ni-2MnO_(2) was synthesized by ball milling elemental powders of Mg,Ni and MnO_(2) in hydrogen *** microstructures of the powder prepared at different milling time were analyzed by X-ray diffractometry(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and high resolution electron microscopy(HREM).The milling time is the most key parameter impacting on the grain size and the microstructure of *** prolonging the milling time,particle size becomes smaller and *** after the ball milling time reaches about 20 h,reduction of grain size becomes *** the milling time is more than 50 h,nanocrystalline fully *** the milling time is more than 80 h,there are more amorphous phases in *** average particle diameter of material is about 1μm and the grain size is 10-30 nm.

AIM:To evaluate whether desferrioxamine decreases ischemia and perfusion injury aggravated by cold storage(CS)in a rat liver perfusion model. METHODS:Isolated rat livers were kept in CS in University of Wisconsin Solution for 20 h at 4℃,then exposed to 25 min of warm ischemia(WI)at 37℃ followed by 2 h of warm perfusion(WP)at 37℃with oxygenated(95%oxygen and 5%carbon dioxide) Krebs-Henseleit ***(DFO),an iron chelator,was added at different stages of storage,ischemia and perfusion:in CS only,in WI only,in WP only, in WI and perfusion,or in all *** samples were collected after CS and after *** samples and bile were collected every 30 min(0,0.5,1,1.5 and 2 h)during liver *** injury was assessed by the determination of lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)in the effluent and perfusate *** iron was analysed in the perfusate *** WP,the liver was collected for the determination of liver swelling(wet to dry ratio) and liver morphological examination(hematoxylin and eosin staining). AIM: To study the effect of 5-Aza-2’-deoxycytidine (5-Aza-CdR) on heat shock protein 70 (HSP70), human leucocyte antigen-Ⅰ (HLA-Ⅰ) and NY-ESO-1 proteins in exosomes produced by hepatoma cells, Hepg2 and Hep3B. METHODS: Exosomes derived from Hepg2 and Hep3B cells treated with or without 5-aza-CdR were isolated and purified by ultrafiltration centrifugation and sucrose gradient ultracentrifugation. The number of exosomes was counted under electron microscope. Concentration of proteins in exosomes was measured by bicinchoninic acid protein assay. Expression of HSP70, HLA-Ⅰ and NY-ESO-1 proteins in exosomes was detected by Western blotting and immunoelectron microscopy. mRNA expression of p53 gene was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain ***: The mRNA expression of p53 gene was increased in both hepatoma cell lines after treatment with 5-Aza-CdR. The number of exosomes and the concentration of total proteins in exosomes were increased signifi cantly after treatment with 5-aza-CdR (P g showed that the HSP70, HLA-Ⅰ and NY-ESO-1 proteins were increased in exosomes produced by both hepatoma cell lines. CONCLUsiON: 5-aza-CdR, an inhibitor of DNA methyltransferase, can increase exosomes produced by hepatoma cells and immune-associated protein component of exosomes, which may be mediated by p53 gene upregulation and 5-Aza-CdR demethylation.

The expanding cost of ordinary fuel in urban zones requires the investigation of other vitality *** exploitation of agricultural wastes for biogas production could protect our environment and can also solve emerging energy crises *** chrysosporium,Trichoderma virdie and Trichoderma harzianum were used to ferment rice straw and cattle dung for production of compost and *** yield was determined using displacement technique,using acidified water(1 N H_(2)SO_(4))to prevent solubilization of carbon dioxide contained in the *** results showed that the highest rate of biogas and methane were recorded with treated rice straw mixed with cattle dung where the amount of production from the total gas was 51.84 of biogas and 37.86 of methane per Liter(L)/Kilogram(Kg)of fermented ***,the results showed that the consumed biogas and methane related to volatile solids gave the highest amount with untreated rice straw(86.32 and 56.72 L/Kg respectively)followed by treated rice straw and untreated and treated mixtures of rice straw and cattle dung *** results also showed that the highest bacterial count was obtained from fungi treated rice straw mixed with cattle dung(125×10^(3)cells/g)followed by treated rice straw(32×10^(3)cells/g).This study confirms that ***,*** and *** significantly speed up the process of aerobic and anaerobic fermentation of rice straw in respect to biogas and methane production.
