Effect of Eu^(3+),Bi^(3+),and Li^(+) doping on luminescent property of GdNbO_(4)

we investigated the emission properties of Eu^(3+)-doped GdNbO_(4)-based oxide phosphors,aiming at improving the Eu^(3+)emission by codoping of Bi^(3+)and Li^(+).Eu^(3+)singly doped,Eu^(3+)and Bi^(3+)doubly doped,and Eu^(3+),Bi^(3+),and Li^(+)triply doped GdNbO_(4)were prepared using a high-temperature solid-state reaction *** red-orange emissions from Eu^(3+)in the singly doped samples are significantly improved by the codoping of Bi^(3+),mainly due to the energy transfer from Bi^(3+)to Eu^(3+).The additional codoping of Li^(+)is found to increase the Eu^(3+)emission *** improvement might be attributed to the increase in the photoluminescent quantum yield originating from larger grain sizes and better crystallinity.A detailed analysis of the X-ray diffraction pattern and the asymmetric ratio estimated from the photoluminescence spectra show that the local lattice environment around Eu^(3+)in GdNbO_(4)does not change significantly with the codoping of Bi^(3+)and Li^(+).Our results indicate that Li^(+)doping is a promising way to improve the emission properties of rare-earth ion-doped GdNbO_(4)phosphors.

A 12-week feeding trial with juvenile red drum ( Sciaenops ocellatus ) fed high-soybean meal (SBM) diets was conducted to investigate a putative biomarker of nutritional imbalance, N-formimino-L-glutamate (FIGLU). Three fishmeal-free, 60% SBM pelleted diets (named B12, Fol, and Met, respectively) were tested to evaluate the effects on growth performance and tissue metabolite profiles of supplementation of vitamin B 12 (0.012 mg/kg), folate (10 mg/kg), methionine (1 g/kg) respectively, above basal supplementation levels. A fourth SBM-based diet (named B12/Fol/Met) was formulated with a combination of B 12 , folate, and methionine to attain the above-mentioned target concentrations. A fifth 60% SBM diet (named FwS) with methionine supplementation (1 g/kg above basal supplementation levels), enriched with taurine, lysine and threonine as well as minerals, was also tested. This diet contained formulation targets and additives which have allowed for replacing fishmeal with plant proteins in rainbow trout feeds. Control diets included a fishmeal-based diet (named FM), an unsupplemented basal 60% SBM diet (named SBM60), and a “natural” diet (named N) made up of equal parts of fish (cigar minnows), squid and shrimp as a positive reference for growth performance. Formulated feeds contained approximately 37% total crude protein, approximately 14% total crude lipid and were energetically balanced. Standard growth performance metrics were measured, and tissues (liver, muscle) were collected at week 12 to evaluate diet-induced metabolic changes using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based metabolomics. Our results show that the FwS diet outperformed all other SBM diets and the FM diet under all performance metrics ( P was not detected in fish fed the N diet but was detected in those fed the SBM diets and the FM diet. In situ digital testing method for quality assessment of soft soil improvement with polyurethane

Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1 (TREM-1) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. As an amplifier of the inflammatory response, TREM-1 is mainly involved in the production of inflammatory mediators and the regulation of cell survival. TREM-1 has been studied in infectious diseases and more recently in non-infectious disorders. More and more studies have shown that TREM-1 plays an important pathogenic role in kidney diseases. There is evidence that TREM-1 can not only be used as a biomarker for diagnosis of disease but also as a potential therapeutic target to guide the development of novel therapeutic agents for kidney disease. This review summarized molecular biology of TREM-1 and its signaling pathways as well as immune response in the progress of acute kidney injury, renal fibrosis, diabetic nephropathy, immune nephropathy, and renal cell carcinoma.

Macrocyclic trichothecenes from Myrothecium verrucaria PA 57 and their cytotoxic activity

Four novel macrocyclic trichothecenes, termed mytoxins D−G (1−4), along with four known analogs (5−8), were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of fermented rice inoculated with the fungus Myrothecium verrucaria PA57. Each compound features a tricyclic 12,13-epoxytrichothec-9-ene (EPT) core. Notably, mytoxin G (4) represents the first instance of a macrocyclic trichothecene incorporating a glucosyl unit within the trichothecene structure. The structures of the newly identified compounds were elucidated through comprehensive spectroscopic analysis combined with quantum chemical calculations. All isolated compounds demonstrated cytotoxic activity against the CAL27 and hCT116 cell lines, which are models for human oral squamous cell carcinoma and colorectal cancer, respectively. Specifically, mytoxin D (1) and mytoxin F (3) exhibited pronounced cytotoxic effects against both cancer cell lines, with IC50 values ranging from 3 to 6 nmol·L−1. Moreover, compounds 1 and 3 were found to induce apoptosis in hCT116 cells by activating caspase-3. © 2024 China Pharmaceutical University
