Low-rank matrix recovery with total generalized variation for defending adversarial examples

Low-rank matrix decomposition with first-order total variation(TV)regularization exhibits excellent performance in exploration of image *** advantage of its excellent performance in image denoising,we apply it to improve the robustness of deep neural ***,although TV regularization can improve the robustness of the model,it reduces the accuracy of normal samples due to its *** our work,we develop a new low-rank matrix recovery model,called LRTGV,which incorporates total generalized variation(TGV)regularization into the reweighted low-rank matrix recovery *** the proposed model,TGV is used to better reconstruct texture information without *** reweighted nuclear norm and Li-norm can enhance the global structure ***,the proposed LRTGV can destroy the structure of adversarial noise while re-enhancing the global structure and local texture of the *** solve the challenging optimal model issue,we propose an algorithm based on the alternating direction method of *** results show that the proposed algorithm has a certain defense capability against black-box attacks,and outperforms state-of-the-art low-rank matrix recovery methods in image restoration.

Proper Holomorphic Mappings among Bounded Symmetric Domains and Related Hartogs Domains

The classical Alexander’s Theorem states that every proper holomorphic self-mapping of a complex unit ball of dimension at least 2 is an automorphism. Since then, the study of proper holomorphic mappings has become an important topic in several complex variables. Bounded symmetric domains, which include the complex unit balls, are among the most important domains in complex Euclidean spaces, due to the fact that they possess a lot of symmetries and are the universal covering spaces of various important mathematical objects. Henkin and Novikov proved that the analogue of Alexander’s Theorem is also true for irreducible bounded symmetric domains of higher rank. These rigidity results for proper holomorphic mappings among bounded symmetric domains have been, by the efforts of a lot of people, extended to the cases with positive co-dimension or rank difference. The purpose of this article is to give a survey for these developments. In addition, we also include a section discussing some generalizations to the Hartogs domains over irreducible bounded symmetric domains.

An update on hormonal regulation of early embryo-fallopian tube interactions: insights for improvements of assisted reproductive technology outcomes

Human fallopian tubes (FTs) play important roles in the whole reproductive process. FTs are the site for the final maturation of gametes, fertilization, transport of preimplantation embryos, and early embryonic development before entering the uterus. All these functions are critical in the establishment of a successful pregnancy. when the embryo is in transit through the FT, the FT microenvironment changes through endocrine, paracrine, autocrine, and juxtacrine mechanisms which involve various hormones and bioactive substances mainly from the neighboring cells. Therefore, the interactions between the embryo and the FT may be the earliest embryo-maternal communications that are essential for the establishment of pregnancy. This review critically discusses the evidence of various hormonal and bioactive mediated control of the microenvironment in the FTs during the earliest embryo-maternal communications. Moreover, we highlight existing gaps in the knowledge and the importance of exploring more of the physiology of FTs which will hold the key to producing high-quality embryos for patients seekingin vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.

The commercial viability of thermoelectric(TE)devices relies heavily on two factors:cost reduction and efficiency *** this study,we first produce p-type Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(16-x)(x=0,3,4)using a low-temperature bottom-up approach and demonstrate Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)to show the best TE performance among the three tested ***,the TE energy conversion efficiency of Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)is further enhanced by optimizing its electronic band structure through the incorporation of small amounts of *** an optimal Te content of 5 mol%,more than a twofold increase in the TE figure of merit(zT)is *** gain insight into the mechanism of improvement on the transport properties of the mate-rial,we compare the interphase transport mechanism by incorporating nanodomains of different metals(Ag and Cu)into the Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)*** improved electrical conductivity obtained with Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)-Te nanocomposites is attributed to a charge flooding of the Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)*** contrast,excessive down-ward band-bending at the interphases of Ag/Cu metal-semiconductor drastically reduces the electrical ***,a weighted mobility(μw)analysis shows a dominant thermal activation of carri-ers in Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)-Te *** this material,a strong decrease in lattice thermal conductivity is also found,which is associated with a phonon-carrier scattering *** work shows the impor-tance of proper band-engineering in TE nanocomposites to decouple electrical and thermal transport to enhance TE performance,and the efficacy ofμw for electrical and thermal transport analysis.

Master equation,design equations and runaway speed of the Kaplan turbine

To make the Kaplan turbine technology comparable to both the Pelton and the Francis turbine,the master equation for the Kaplan turbine has been established by analyses similar to that-for the Francis *** analysis begins with the descriptions of free vortex flows at the runner inlet and the swirl flow at the impeller *** considering the Euler equation for specific work and by further evaluating the most significant shock and swirling losses,the first and the second energy equations in the form of hydraulic efficiency were *** master equation is then established by combining both energy *** addition,three design equations and a new design parameter are *** master equation relates the turbine hydromechanics to the geometrical design of both the runner and the guide-vane *** enables the complete hydraulic characteristics of a given Kaplan turbine to be analytically and simply computed.A computation example demonstrates the functionality and applicability of the *** the reconstructed master equation,the runaway speed of the Kaplan turbine and its dependence on the guide-vane setting can be easily and precisely *** bulb turbines with guide vanes directly ahead of the turbine runner in the same tube,all computations are also applicable using another equivalent control parameter.

Simultaneous optimization of phononic and electronic transport in two-dimensional Bi2O2Se by defect engineering

Defect engineering represents one degree of freedom to tune the physical and chemical properties of two-dimensional (2D)***,we demonstrate that the thermal and electronic properties of 2D Bi2O2Se can be optimized simultaneously by introducing oxygen defects.2D Bi2O2Se and its oxygendeficient counterpart (Bi2Ox Se,xng oxygen defects,the thermal conductivity of 2D Bi2O2Se is reduced by nearly three times,achieving an extremely low thermal conductivity of 0.68±0.06 w/mK at room temperature via the thermal bridge *** low thermal conductivity is enabled by the scattering of phonons by targeting of high-,mid-,and low-frequency phonons due to oxygen defects,strong anharmonicity,and nanostructure boundaries,***,the mobility is also improved to 260–500 cm2·V-1·s-1and the usual polar optical phonon scattering in 2D Bi2O2Se is weakened owing to the introduction of oxygen *** results promise potential applications for thermoelectric design,nanoelectronics,and thermal barrier coating devices based on emerging 2D materials.
