This paper aimed to investigate the correlation between carbon emissions, fuel consumption, and speed limit. A theoretical model was derived based on the energy conservation law, w.ich expresses the relationship between vehicle's fuel consumption and speed. Subsequently, a total of 40 sets of fuel consumption data were collected through field tests to verify the accuracy of the theoretical model at different speeds and different road longitudinal slope combinations. The fuel consumption was then converted to carbon emissions according to the carbon emission factors specified by intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(iPCC). in the field experiment, two types of cars and trucks, w.ich are most common on the expressways in China, were selected. Finally, the travel speed under different posted speed limits was obtained through the previously established model, and the carbon emission changes of different vehicle types at different limited speeds are calculated. The results show that the speed limit has a significant impact on fuel consumption and carbon emissions. when the speed limit increased from 80 to 120 km/h,average vehicle speeds increased about 21%-27%, and fuel consumption and carbon emissions increased from approximately 33%-38%. Another interesting result was that the vehicle's fuel consumption and carbon emissions are only affected by speed. The results of the study explore the effect of speed limits on carbon emissions and provide evidence for road managers to set reasonable speed limits.

Off-farm employment,agriculture production activities,and household dietary diversity in environmentally and economically vulnerable areas of Asia

Access to off-farm employment has been expected to be a critical approach to ending hunger and all forms of malnutrition,two important targets of achieving Zero *** study aims to investigate the role of off-farm employment in improving dietary diversity through substitution effect and complementary effect with agricultural production activities and income *** study adopts Poisson/Tobit/Probit/OLS regressions and the instrument variable method based on the primary survey data collected among 1,282 households at 12 sites in environmentally and economically vulnerable areas of China,Nepal,Cambodia,Thailand,and Myanmar in *** results show that off-farm employment is positively associated with household dietary diversity and the consumption of flesh meat,fish and other aquatic animals,fruits,and milk and dairy products,w.ich are rich in protein and *** results of mechanism analysis show that off-farm employment contributes to household dietary diversity by improving crop diversity,especially for poor households,boosting the probability of livestock raising for households with the middle one-third disposal income,and increasing household *** positive association between off-farm employment and household dietary diversity is much higher for households with the bottom one-third disposal income,low.illiteracy,and from upper-middle income *** findings imply that off-farm employment does play a vital role in achieving multiple benefits of poverty alleviation,malnutrition reduction,and agrobiodiversity conservation in environmentally and economically vulnerable ***,it may enlarge the gaps in dietary diversity between households with low human capital and from low and lower-middle income countries and those with high human capital and from middle-high countries.

Herein, the effect of fluoropolymer binders on the properties of polymer-bonded explosives(PBXs) was comprehensively investigated. To this end, fluorinated semi-interpenetrating polymer networks(semiiPNs) were prepared using different catalyst amounts(denoted as F23-CLF-30-D). The involved curing and phase separation processes were monitored using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, a haze meter and a rheometer. Curing rate constant and activation energy were calculated using a theoretical model and numerical method, respectively. Results revealed that owing to its co-continuous micro-phase separation structure, the F23-CLF-30-D3 semi-iPN exhibited considerably higher tensile strength and elongation at break than pure fluororubber F2314 and the F23-CLF-30-D0 semi-iPN because the phase separation and curing rates matched in the initial stage of *** arc Brazilian test revealed that F23-CLF-30-D-based composites used as mock materials for PBXs exhibited excellent mechanical performance and storage stability. Thus, the matched curing and phase separation rates play a crucial role during the fabrication of high-performance semi-iPNs;these factors can be feasibly controlled using an appropriate catalyst amount.

Braking energy recovery(BER)aims to recover the vehicle's kinetic energy by coordinating the motor and mechanical braking torque to extend the driving range of the electric vehicle(EV).To achieve this goal,the motor/generator mode requires frequent switching and prolonged operation during *** this case,the motor temperature will unavoidably rise,potentially triggering motor thermal protection(MTP).Activating MTP increases the risk of motor component failure,and the EV typically disables the BER ***,maximizing BER w.ile reducing the risk of motor overheating is a challenging *** address this issue,this article proposes a predictive BER strategy with MTP using the non-smooth Pontryagin Minimum Principle(NSPMP)for ***,a Markov long short-term memory(MLSTM)model is designed to obtain future velocity ***,the BER problem with MTP in the studied EV is embedded in a model predictive control(MPC)***,under the MPC framework,the NSPMP strategy is proposed to resolve the problem of ***,the performance of the proposed strategy is verified through simulation and a hardware-in-loop *** results show that in two real-world driving cycles,compared to the rule-based strategy,the proposed strategy reduced power consumption by 1.24%and0.96%,respectively,and effectively limited motor ***,under global cycle conditions,this strategy demonstrated better MTP control performance compared to other benchmark strategies.

in order to investigate the fatigue performance of orthotropic anisotropic steel bridge decks,this study realizes the simulation of the welding process through elastic-plastic finite element theory,thermal-structural sequential coupling,and the birth-death element *** simulated welding residual stresses are introduced into the multiscale finite element model of the bridge as the initial ***,the study explores the impact of residual stress on crack propagation in the fatigue-vulnerable components of the corroded steel box *** results indicate that fatigue cracks at the weld toe of the top deck,the weld root of the top deck,and the opening of the transverse diaphragm will not propagate under the action of a standard vehicle ***,the inclusion of residual stress leads to the propagation of these *** considering residual stress,the fatigue crack propagation paths at the weld toe of the transverse diaphragm and the U-rib weld toe align with those observed in actual *** the absence of residual stress,the cracks at the toe of the transverse diaphragm with a 15%mass loss rate are categorized as type i ***,when residual stress is considered,these cracks become i-ii composite *** stress significantly alters the cumulative energy release rate of the three ***,incorporating the influence of residual stress is essential when assessing the fatigue performance of corroded steel box girders in long-span bridges.

The moisture generated by the ageing of the oil-paper insulating system can easily lead to the deterioration of the performance of the insulating *** order to alleviate the impact of moisture on the performance of the insulating paper,we developed a kind of lipophilic hydrophobic self-repairing cellulose insulating paper(new.insulating paper)based on the ternary system of polytetrafluoroethylene,fluorocarbon surfactant and fluorinated alkyl silane,and accelerated thermal ageing test for 45 days at 130°C was carried *** experimental results show that the new.insulating paper with excellent lipophilic property can realise hydrophobic self-repairing through heat treatment after physical *** tensile strength and elongation at break of the new.insulating paper increased by 5%–8%and 6.25%–27%respectively compared with the original cellulose insulating *** the end of ageing,the relative dielectric constant and dielectric loss factor of new.insulating paper are 10.4%and 9.9%lower than that of the original cel-lulose insulating paper,w.ile the breakdown voltage is 6.8%*** acid and moisture content produced during the ageing process of the insulating oil impregnated with new.insulating paper are also less,indicating that the coating can delay the ageing of the insulating paper.

inter-satellite link(iSL)plays an essential role in current and future Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS).in this study,we investigate the impact of iSL observations on precise orbit determination for BeiDou-3 Navigation Satellite System(BDS-3)Medium Earth Orbit(MEO)satellites based on different Extended CODE Orbit Models(ECOM).Thanks to the better observation geometry of the Ka-band iSL data compared to the L-band data for BDS-3 MEO satellites,the iSL solution substantially reduces Orbit Boundary Discontinuity(OBD)errors,except for C30,w.ich suffers from unstable Ka-band hardware *** the external quality analysis,iSL significantly enhances the reliability of the orbit of MEO satellites manufactured by the China Academy of Space Technology(CAST).The standard deviation(STD)of the satellite laser ranging(SLR)residuals is approximately 2.5 cm,and the root mean square(RMS)is reduced by 10–23%compared to L-band ***,the Sun-elongation angle dependent systematic error in SLR residuals nearly vanishes based on the reduced 5-parameter ECOM(ECOM1)or extended 7-parameter ECOM(ECOM2)with iSL *** is because the iSL reduces the correlation between state parameters and solar radiation pressure(SRP)parameters as well as those among SRP parameters,leading to a more accurate estimation of both orbit and SRP perturbations,particularly those along B *** confirms that the deficiency of the SRP models for BDS-3 CAST satellites can be compensated by using better observation geometry from iSL *** the other hand,for the satellite manufactured by Shanghai Engineering Center for Microsatellites(SECM),the iSL allows for a more accurate estimation of the Bc_(1)parameter in the ECOM1 *** only reduces linear systematic error,possibly because the impact generated by the satellite bus cannot be entirely absorbed by the B-direction parameters.
