Porous materials offer unique possibilities for the production of plasmas with controlled density profiles for experiments on laser–matter interaction.they are of growing relevance to many applications,such as inertial confinement fusion,fundamental research,and secondary sources.Understanding the processes of transformation of a porous solid into a plasma is of fundamental interest and is needed for producing materials with desired properties.

A single-server queueing system with preemptive access is considered.Each customer has one attempt to enter the system at its working interval[0,t].As soon as the customer request enters the system,the server immediately starts the service.But when the next request arrives in the system,the previous one leaves the system even he has not finished his service yet.We study a non-cooperative game in which the customers wish to maximize their probability of obtaining service within a certain period of time.We characterize the Nash equilibrium and the price of anarchy,which is defined as the ratio between the optimal and equilibrium social utility.two models are considered.In the first model the number of players is fixed,while in the second it is random and obeys the Poisson distribution.We demonstrate that there exists a unique symmetric equilibrium for both models.Finally,we calculate the price of anarchy for both models and show that the price of anarchy is not monotone with respect to the number of customers.

High-energy-density lithium metal batteries are the next-generation battery systems of choice,and replacing the flammable liquid electrolyte with a polymer solid-state electrolyte is a prominent conduct towards realizing the goal of high-safety and high-specific-energy devices.Unfortunately,the inherent intractable problems of poor solid-solid contacts between the electrode/electrolyte and the growth of Li dendrites hinder their practical applications.the in-situ solidification has demonstrated a variety of advantages in the application of polymer electrolytes and artificial interphase,including the design of integrated polymer electrolytes and asymmetric polymer electrolytes to enhance the compatibility of solid–solid contact and compatibility between various electrolytes,and the construction of artificial interphase between the Li anode and cathode to suppress the formation of Li dendrites and to enhance the high-voltage stability of polymer electrolytes.this review firstly elaborates the history of in-situ solidification for solid-state batteries,and then focuses on the synthetic methods of solidified electrolytes.Furthermore,the recent progress of in-situ solidification technology from both the design of polymer electrolytes and the construction of artificial interphase is summarized,and the importance of in-situ solidification technology in enhancing safety is emphasized.Finally,prospects,emerging challenges,and practical applications of in-situ solidification are envisioned.

the recent achievement of fusion ignition with laser-driven technologies at the National Ignition Facility sets a historic accomplishment in fusion energy research.this accomplishment paves the way for using laser inertial fusion as a viable approach for future energy production.Europe has a unique opportunity to empower research in this field internationally,and the scientific community is eager to engage in this journey.We propose establishing a European programme on inertial-fusion energy with the mission to demonstrate laser-driven ignition in the direct-drive scheme and to develop pathway technologies for the commercial fusion reactor.the proposed roadmap is based on four complementary axes:(ⅰ)the physics of laser-plasma interaction and burning plasmas;(ⅱ)high-energy high repetition rate laser technology;(ⅲ)fusion reactor technology and materials;and(ⅳ)reinforcement of the laser fusion community by international education and training programmes.We foresee collaboration with universities,research centres and industry and establishing joint activities with the private sector involved in laser fusion.this project aims to stimulate a broad range of high-profile industrial developments in laser,plasma and radiation technologies along with the expected high-level socio-economic impact.

the hidden Z2 symmetry of the asymmetric quantum Rabi model(AQRM)has recently been revealed via a systematic construction of the underlying symmetry operator.Based on the AQRM result,we propose an ansatz for the general form of the symmetry operators for AQRM-related models.Applying this ansatz we obtain the symmetry operator for three models:the anisotropic AQRM,the asymmetric Rabi–Stark model(ARSM),and the anisotropic ARSM.

Quantifying the actual sediment load flux into Lake Baikal:A case study of the main tributary——the Selenga River(Russia)

the significant reduction of sediment load flux into Lake Baikal from its main tributary-the Selenga River began in the mid-1970 s,and can be explained by climate change and socio-economic activities.Integrated analysis was done of changes in hydro-meteorological parameters(water discharge,sediment load,air temperature,and precipitation) and their tendencies over periods of 1946-1975(baseline) and1976-2017(warming).Changes in natural processes and human activity were negligible during the baseline period.In the warming period,against the background of an increase in temperature,the water discharge had a slight decreasing trend(-13%) whereas the sediment load has significantly decreased(-53%) these are consist with the precipitation change(-9.4%).Analysis of hydro-climatic data using statistical methods showed that in the warming period the greatest reduction in river sediment runoff occurred in the interval 1996-2017.In this period the sediment load was 768 × 10～3 t/yr,which is less than the average value during the warming period-1048 × 10～3 t/yr.Considering sedimentation in the Selenga River delta,the actual sediment load flux from the Selenga River into Lake Baikal amounted to 515 × 10～3 t/yr,which is three times less than the average multiyear value 1535 × 10～3 t/yr for observation period(1946-2017).

the retinoblastoma gene product(pRb)is a chromatin-associated protein that can either suppress or promote activity of key regulators of tissue-specific differentiation.We found that twelve weeks after transfection of the exogenous active(ΔB/X andΔр34)or inactive(ΔS/N)forms of RB into the 10t1/2 mesenchymal stem cells and clonal selection not a single cell line did contain exogenous RB,despite being G-418 resistant.However,the consequences of the transient production of exogenous RB had different effects on the cell fate.theΔB/X andΔр34 cells transfected with active form of RB showed elevated levels of inducible adipocyte differentiation(AD).On the contrary,theΔS/N cells transfected with inactive RB mutant were insensitive to induction of AD associated with abolishing of expression of the PPARγ2.Additionally,the PPARγ2 promoter in undifferentiatedΔS/N cells was hypermethylated,but all except−60 position CpG became mostly demethylated after cells exposure to AD.We conclude that while transient expression of inactive exogenous RB induces long term epigenetic alterations that prevent adipogenesis,production of active exogenous RBs results in an AD-promoting epigenetic state.these results indicate that pRb is involved in the establishment of hereditary epigenetic memory at least by creating a methylation pattern of PPARγ2.

Deuterium retention in chemically vapor deposited tungsten carbide coatings and hot-rolled tungsten exposed to low-energy deuterium plasma

Samples of chemically vapor deposited(CVD)coatings of tungsten carbides W_(45)C_(55)and W_(60)C_(40)and samples of hot-rolled tungsten were exposed to deuterium(D)plasma at sample temperatures ranging from 323 to 813 K,as a result of which the samples were irradiated with D ions with an energy of about 200 eV per D particle at a flux of D particles of about1.1×10^(21)D·m^(-2)·s^(-1)to a fluence of about 2×10^(24)D·m^(-2).the concentration of deuterium in these samples was examined by the D(3 He,p)4 He nuclear reaction.Based on the measured deuterium depth profiles and assuming that these profiles are determined by diffusing D atoms,the diffusion coefficients of deuterium in the CVD tungsten carbide coatings were determined.Using these diffusion coefficients,an estimate of the Arrhenius relation for the diffusion coefficients of deuterium in CVD tungsten carbide coatings was obtained:D=2.5×10^(-3)exp(-1.12 eV/kt)m~2·s^(-1),where t is temperature expressed in Kelvin,and k is the Boltzmann constant.the concentration of trapped deuterium in the bulk of CVD tungsten carbide coatings is practically independent of the stoichiometry of the coatings.It decreases from about 5×10^(-2)to about 7×10^(-4)D/(W+C)with an increase in the deuterium plasma exposure temperature from 373 to 813 K.the concentration of trapped deuterium in hot-rolled tungsten,expressed in units of the D/W atomic ratio,is more than an order of magnitude lower than the concentration of deuterium in tungsten carbides,and also decreases with increasing plasma exposure temperature.
