Objective To study the influence of carcinogenic factors on tissues and organs of the maxillofacial region(MFR)by measuring the expression of biomarkers in the oral *** We recruited 421 patients who were divided into 2 groups:356 patients with a tumour of the MFR and 65 healthy people without somatic pathology in medical *** The effects of carcinogenic factors on the expression of biomarkers in the oral fluid in patients with a tumour of the MFR revealed a significant increase in the levels of biomarkers of tobacco use-MMP-8,TIMP-1,TIMP-2,and CA 72-4,CEA and CA 125;frequent use or abuse of alcohol-MMP-8,TIMP-1,TIMP-2,AFP and nSE;use of narcotics-TIMP-1 and TIMP-2;presence of occupational hazards in the medical history-MMP-8,MMP-9,TIMP-1 and TIMP-2;with a diagnostic sensitivity(DS)of over 60%.Also our analysis showed that the use of tobacco was significantly affecting the expression of TIMP-1and CA 125;frequent use or abuse of alcohol-CA 19-9,AFP and CEA;use of drugs had an impact on ***,the occupational hazards in the medical history did not show a statistically significant *** Factors of carcinogenesis affect the expression of biomarkers in the oral *** expression of the biomarkers of the MFR should be compared with that in the control group of patients with no carcinogenic factors.

BACKGROUnD Optimal physical activity is known to reduce cardiovascular,respiratory and endocrine system diseases and,as a consequence,improve quality of *** important risk factor for reinjuries during normal exercise is the initial connective tissue *** variety of clinical dysplastic manifestations significantly complicate the timely diagnosis of this *** To establish pathognomonic sex-specific dysplasia phenotypes that indicate a particular sensitivity to physical *** The study involved 117 participants with recurrent musculoskeletal injuries that occurred during normal *** were 67 women(57.26%)and 50 men(42.74%),which made it possible to compare the presence of the identified signs between sexes.A validated questionnaire was used to screen their connective tissue *** Ranking the most commonly revealed dysplasia signs depending on their clinical significance made it possible to establish pathognomonic sex-specific phenotypes that indicated a particular susceptibility to *** programs of optimal physical activity are necessary for men with chest deformities,flat-valgus feet,dolichostenomelia,arachnodactylia,hemorrhoids,abdominal muscle diastasis and recurrent *** women,special sensitivity to physical exertion was associated with a combination of signs such as asthenic body,joint hypermobility,overly soft auricles,thin hyperelastic skin,atrophic striae,telangiectasias and varicose *** particular importance were universal signs such as gothic palate,scoliosis,kyphosis,leg deformities,temporomandibular joint crunching,and moderate to high *** Participants’connective tissue condition should be considered when designing optimal physical activity *** the established sex-specific dysplasia phenotypes will allow timely optimization of training loads,thus reducing the risk of injury.

BACKGROUnD Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)is causing a high mortality rate due to the lack of efficient early prognosis markers and suitable therapeutic *** prognostic role of genes responsible for the acquisition of radioresistance in ESCC has not been fully *** To establish a prognostic model by studying gene expression patterns pertinent to radioresistance in ESCC *** Datasets were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus and The Cancer Genome Atlas *** edgeR,a Bioconductor package,was used to analyze mRnA expression between different *** screened genes specifically responsible for radioresistance to estimate overall *** correlation analysis was performed to confirm whether the expression of those genes correlated with each *** contributing to radioresistance and overall survival were assessed by the multivariate Cox regression model through the calculation ofβi and risk score using the following formula:∑^(n)_(i=1)βi×*** We identified three prognostic mRnAs(cathepsin S[CTSS],cluster of differentiation 180[CD180],and SLP adapter and CSK-interacting membrane protein[SCIMP])indicative of *** expression of the three identified mRnAs was related to each other(r>0.70 and Pnd 3-year overall survival prediction,the area under the time-dependent receiver operating characteristic curve of the signature consisting of the three mRnAs was 0.716 and 0.841,*** stratifying patients based on the risk score derived from the signature,the high-risk group exhibited a higher death risk and shorter survival time than the low-risk group(Pnts was significantly better than that of the highrisk patients(P=0.018).COnCLUSIOn We have developed a novel three-gene prognostic signature consisting of CTSS,CD180,and SCIMO for ESCC,which may facilitate the prediction of early prognosis of this malignancy.

Kleiber’s Law or E = M3/4 is a mathematical expression known since 1932 that outlines the relationship between mass (biomass) and the use of energy. It is compelling because it supports a long standing observation that larger animals appear to use energy more efficiently than smaller ones. For example, an elephant’s weight is 200,000 times of a mouse, but uses only about 10,000 fold energy;thus a cat, having a mass of about 100 times of a mouse, only spends roughly 33 fold energy. In other words, the bigger you are, the less energy per gram of tissue you actually need to stay alive. Many facts pertaining to animal size call for a rational explanation. This paper takes into account that the fascinating relationship between mass and energy use for any living thing is governed strictly by a mathematical universal formula across all living species, operating in the tiniest of bacteria to the biggest of whales and sequoia tress. For the first time, we report a capacity for the mammal eukaryotic cell to split, break or dissociate water molecules through melanin. Even though E = M3/4 was discovered eight decades ago, no proper satisfactory explanation exists. nevertheless, our multiyear detailed study on the “Human Photosynthesis” or first found in the human retina and later in all eukaryotic cells, may finally unravel this mystery, namely, the bigger you are the more surface area you have to absorb electromagnetic radiation and the more potential exists to use that electromagnetic radiation spectra to perform work. We propose a future application of this theory in the context of human diseases, especially age-related disorders, such as retinopathy, cerebrovascular and Alzheimer disease and these implications may not only foster a better understanding of the pathobiology of these devastating diseases but also develop much more effective therapies in the foreseeable future.

The sanitary and environmental challenges posed by an ever growing economically and geographically diverse human population include the need for sustainable, inexpensive, scalable, and decentralized water treatment technologies that can supplement or replace conventional treatment methods. These challenges can be met by semiconductor photocatalysis, especially if the process is driven by visible light energy. Visible-light active (vla) photocatalysis, as opposed to traditional energy-intensive and chemically driven disinfection methods such as ozonation, UV irradiation and chlorination, has the potential for achieving high disinfection efficiency with low energy consumption and no harmful by-products. This technology generates in-situ reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as H2O2, and?, without the need for chemicals addition. In turn, ROS are capable of penetrating cell walls and membranes of microorganisms, effectively inactivating them. Although multiple types of vla photocatalysts have been used experimentally for disinfection of water, noble-metal-based photocatalysts have gained the most interest due to their surface plasma resonance (SPR) effect, which acts synergistically to increase the disinfection potential of the photocatalytic process. This paper is a review of the different types of noble-metal-based vla photocatalysts used for water disinfection in different experimental settings, their synthesis procedures and disinfection mechanisms. It also discusses innovative approaches to overcome a major hurdle in photocatalysis, that is, the rapid recombination of the electron and hole pair, by including specific dopants into the structure of the photocatalyst.
