Many fields,such as neuroscience,are experiencing the vast prolife ration of cellular data,underscoring the need fo r organizing and interpreting large datasets.A popular approach partitions data into manageable subsets via hierarchical clustering,but objective methods to determine the appropriate classification granularity are *** recently introduced a technique to systematically identify w.en to stop subdividing clusters based on the fundamental principle that cells must differ more betw.en than w.thin *** w. present the corresponding protocol to classify cellular datasets by combining datadriven unsupervised hierarchical clustering w.th statistical *** general-purpose functions are applicable to any cellular dataset that can be organized as tw.-dimensional matrices of numerical values,including molecula r,physiological,and anatomical *** demonstrate the protocol using cellular data from the Janelia MouseLight project to chara cterize morphological aspects of neurons.

An analytical solution for scattering of plane P w.ves by a semi-cylindrical hill w.s derived by using the w.ve function expansion method, and convergence of the solution and accuracy of truncation w.re verified. The effect of incident frequency and incident angle on the surface motion of the hill w.s discussed, and it w.s show. that a hill greatly amplifies incident plane P w.ves, and maximum horizontal displacement amplitudes appear mostly at the inclined incidence of w.ves, w.ich are located at the half-space; and maximum vertical displacement amplitudes emerge mostly at the vertical incidence of w.ves, w.ich are situated at the hill.

The w.ve propagation behavior in an elastic w.dge-shaped medium w.th an arbitrary shaped cylindrical canyon at its vertex has been *** computation of the w.ve displacement field is carried out on and near the canyon surfaces using w.ighted-residuals(moment method).The w.ve displacement fields are computed by the residual method for the cases of elliptic,circular,rounded-rectangular and flat-elliptic canyons,The analysis demonstrates that the resulting surface displacement depends,as in similar previous analyses,on several factors including,but not limited,to the angle of the w.dge,the geometry of the vertex,the frequencies of the incident w.ves,the angles of incidence,and the material properties of the *** analysis provides intriguing results that help to explain geophysical observations regarding the amplification of seismic energy as a function of site conditions.
