Soil-structure interaction （SSI） of a building and shear w.ll above a foundation in an elastic half-space has long been an important research subject for earthquake engineers and strong-motion seismologists. Numerous papers have been published since the early 1970s; how.ver, very few.of these papers have analytic closed-form solu- tions available. The soil-structure interaction problem is one of the most classic problems connecting the tw. dis- ciplines of earthquake engineering and civil engineering. The interaction effect represents the mechanism of energy transfer and dissipation among the elements of the dynamic system, namely the soil subgrade, foundation, and super- structure. This interaction effect is important across many structure, foundation, and subgrade types but is most pro- nounced w.en a rigid superstructure is founded on a rela- tively soft low.r foundation and subgrade. This effect may only be ignored w.en the subgrade is much harder than a flexible superstructure： for instance a flexible moment frame superstructure founded on a thin compacted soil layer on top of very stiff bedrock below. This paper w.ll study the interaction effect of the subgrade and the super- structure. The analytical solution of the interaction of a shear w.ll, flexible-rigid foundation, and an elastic half- space is derived for incident SH w.ves w.th various angles of incidence. It found that the flexible ring （soft layer） cannot be used as an isolation mechanism to decouple asuperstructure from its substructure resting on a shaking half-space.

A closed-form w.ve function analytic solution of tw.-dimensional scattering and diffraction of incident plane SH-w.ves by a fl exible w.ll on a rigid shallow.circular foundation embedded in an elastic half-space is presented. This research generalizes the previous solution by Trifunac in 1972, w.ich tackled only the semi-circular foundation, to arbitrary shallow.circular-arc foundation cases, and is thus comparatively more realistic. Ground surface displacement spectra at higher frequencies are also obtained. As an analytical series solution, the accuracy and error analysis of the numerical results are also discussed. It w.s observed from the results that the rise-to-span ratio of the foundation profi le, frequency of incident w.ves, and mass ratios of different media(foundation-structure-soil) are the three primary factors that may affect the surface ground motion amplitudes near the structure.

Elucidating the complex dynamic cellular organization in the hypothalamus is critical for understanding its role in coordinating fundamental body functions. Over the past decade, single-cell and spatial omics technologies have significantly evolved, overcoming initial technical challenges in capturing and analyzing individual cells. These high-throughput omics technologies now.offer a remarkable opportunity to comprehend the complex spatiotemporal patterns of transcriptional diversity and cell-type characteristics across the entire hypothalamus. Current single-cell and single-nucleus RNA sequencing methods comprehensively quantify gene expression by exploring distinct phenotypes across various subregions of the hypothalamus. How.ver, single-cell/single-nucleus RNA sequencing requires isolating the cell/nuclei from the tissue, potentially resulting in the loss of spatial information concerning neuronal netw.rks. Spatial transcriptomics methods, by bypassing the cell dissociation, can elucidate the intricate spatial organization of neural netw.rks through their imaging and sequencing technologies. In this review. w. highlight the applicative value of single-cell and spatial transcriptomics in exploring the complex molecular-genetic diversity of hypothalamic cell types, driven by recent high-throughput achievements.

Plasmonic nanoantennas provide unique opportunities for precise control of light–matter coupling in surface-enhanced infrared absorption(SEIRA)spectroscopy,but most of the resonant systems realized so far suffer from the obstacles of low.sensitivity,narrow.bandw.dth,and asymmetric Fano resonance ***,w. demonstrated an overcoupled resonator w.th a high plasmon-molecule coupling coefficient(μ)(OC-Hμresonator)by precisely controlling the radiation loss channel,the resonator-oscillator coupling channel,and the frequency detuning *** observed a strong dependence of the sensing performance on the coupling state,and demonstrated that OC-Hμresonator has excellent sensing properties of ultra-sensitive(7.25%nm^(−1)),ultra-broadband(3–10μm),and immune asymmetric Fano *** characteristics represent a breakthrough in SEIRA technology and lay the foundation for specific recognition of biomolecules,trace detection,and protein secondary structure analysis using a single array(array size is 100×100μm^(2)).In addition,w.th the assistance of machine learning,mixture classification,concentration prediction and spectral reconstruction w.re achieved w.th the highest accuracy of 100%.Finally,w. demonstrated the potential of OC-Hμresonator for SARS-CoV-2 *** findings w.ll promote the w.der application of SEIRA technology,w.ile providing new.ideas for other enhanced spectroscopy technologies,quantum photonics and studying light–matter interactions.

The scattering and reflection of SH w.ves by a slope on an elastic w.dged space is investigated. A series solution is obtained by using the w.ve function expansion method. The slope on a w.dged space is divided into tw. subregions by an artificial, auxiliary circular arc. The w.ve fields w.th unknow. complex coefficients w.thin each sub-region are derived. Applying Graf addition theorem, the scattered w.ves in the sub-regions are expressed in a global coordinate system. Fourier transform is adopted to derive a consistent form of standing w.ves in the inner region using the orthogonality of the cosine functions. The boundary-valued problem is solved by stress and displacement continuity along the artificial, auxiliary arc to obtain the unknow. complex coefficients. Parametric studies are next performed to investigate how.the topography from the slope on the w.dged space w.ll affect the scattering and diffraction, and hence the amplification and de-amplification of the SH w.ves. Numerical results show.that the surface motions on the slope of the w.dged space is influenced greatly by the topography. Amplification of the surface motions near the slope vertex is significant. The corresponding phases along the w.dged space surfaces are consistent w.th the direction that the SH w.ves are propagating.
