Biochar is a waste-derived material that can sequester carbon at a large *** development of low-carbon and sustainable biochar-enhanced construction materials has attracted extensive ***,having a porous nature and highly functionalised surface,can provide nucleation sites for chemical reactions and exhibit compatibility with cement,asphalt,and polymer *** study critically reviewed the state-of-the-art biochar-enhanced construction materials,including biochar-cement composites,biochar-asphalt composites,biochar-plastic composites,*** efficacies and mechanisms of biochar as construction materials were articulated to improve their functional *** critical review highlighted the roles of biochar in cement hydration,surface functional groups of engineered biochar for promoting chemical reactions,and value-added merits of biochar-enhanced construction materials(such as humidity regulation,thermal insulation,noise reduction,air/water purification,electromagnetic shielding,and self-sensing).The major properties of biochar are correlated to the features and functionalities of biochar-enhanced construction *** advances in our understanding of biochar’s roles in various composites can foster the next-generation design of carbon-neutral construction materials.

sorghum’s natural adaptation to a wide range of abiotic stresses provides diverse genetic reserves for potential improvement in crop stress tolerance. Growing interest in sorghum research has led to the expansion of genetic resources though establishment of the sorghum association panel (sAP), generation of mutagenized populations, and recombinant inbred line (RIL) populationsspan>,span style="font-family:Verdana;"> etc. Despite rapid improvement in biotechnological tools, lack of efficient phenotyping platforms remains one of the major obstacles in utilizing these genetic resources. scarcity of efforts in root system phenotyping hinders identification and integration of the superior root traits advantageous to stress tolerance. Here, we explored multiple approaches in root phenotyping of an ethyl methanesulfonate (EMs)-mutagenized sorghum population. Paper-based growth pouches (PGP) and hydroponics were employed to analyze root system architecture (RsA) variations induced by mutations and to test root development flexibility in response to phosphorus deficiency in early growing stages. PGP method had improved capabilities compared to hydroponics providing inexpensive, space-saving, and high-throughput phenotyping of sorghum roots. Preliminary observation revealed distinct phenotypic variations which were qualitatively and quantitatively systemized for association analysis. Phenotypes/ideotypes with root architecture variations potentially correlated with Pi acquisition were selected to evaluate their contribution to P-efficiency (PE). sand mixed with P-loaded activated alumina substrate (sAs) provided closely to natural but still controlled single-variable conditions with regulated Pi availability. This discussion paper is an attempt to consider new ideas about the nature of explosive phenomena of the meteorite bodies in the Earth＇s atmosphere. Authors attract approaches, based on the concepts of physics of combustion, explosion and detonation in order to explain the explosive collapse of the meteorite. Authors believe that the meteorite explosion may be the result of gas-detonation mechanism of overheated meteoric bodies explosive boiling-up （the ＂vapor explosion＂）, accompanied by the formation of a supersonic front of shock wave. The considered hypothesis regarding the role of the ＂vapor explosion＂ in geological disasters can be used to explain the mechanisms of explosive phenomena in Volcanology：（1） With respect to the description of nature of phreatic eruptions; （2） for interpretation of dynamic regularities of the volcano crater opening and the subsequent shock-wave emission of steam-gas ＂fountain＂ to a height of several kilometers with fragments of magma and rocks as a result of the ＂vapor explosion＂ of overheated magma mass under the dome of the volcano.

The reasons for introducing the concept of the entrostat in statistical physics are examined. The introduction of the entrostat has allowed researchers to show the possibility of self-organization in open systems within the understanding of entropy as a measure of disorder. The application of the laws written down for the entrostat has also allowed us to formulate the “synergetic open system” concept. A nonlinear model of the activity of a medium-sized company in the market is presented. In the course of the development of this model, the concept of the entrostat was used. This model includes the equation of a firm’s market activity and condition of its stability. It is shown that this stability depends on the income of the average buyers of the firm’s goods and furthermore that the equation estimating the firm’s market activity includes the scenario of a subharmonic cascade, which ends in chaos for the majority of market participants, i.e., in an economic crisis. The feature of this paper is that the decision containing the scenario of the subharmonic cascade is found analytically (instead of numerically, as is customary in the current scientific literature).

地球内部水和铁的反应可以生成铁-氢合金.研究铁-氢合金可以增进对地球内部氢传输的认知.我们通过高压实验和第一性原理计算的方法,对高温高压下具有面心立方结构(fcc)FeH_(x)(x≤1)的相稳定性、密度、氢的输运性质和熔点进行了系统研究,证实了FeH_(x)在165 GPa时的稳定性.通过高温的分子动力学模拟,发现FeH_(x)在下地幔温压下转变为超离子态.在超离子态FeH_(x)中,氢离子快速扩散表现出类似流体的性质,扩散系数高达3.710^(-4)cm~2s^(-1).与超离子态冰类似,氢离子的快速扩散可以导致体系的熵增,使其的熔化温度增加.FeH_(x)可以将氢从地幔传输到外地核,使得外核成为H的潜在储库,并在核-幔边界上方留下了富氧的块状结构.

Divacancy spins implement qubits with outstanding characteristics and capabilities in an industrial semiconductor host On the other hand,there are still numerous open questions about the physics of these important defects,for instance,spin relaxation has not been thoroughly studied ***,we carry out a theoretical study on environmental spin-induced spin relaxation processes of divacancy qubits in the 4H polytype of silicon carbide(4H-siC).We reveal all the relevant magnetic field values where the longitudinal spin relaxation time T,drops resonantly due to the coupling to either nuclear spins or electron *** quantitatively analyze the dependence of the T,time on the concentration of point defect spins and the applied magnetic field and provide ananalytical *** demonstrate that dipolar spin relaxation plays a significant role both in as-grown and ion-implanted samples and it often limits the coherence time of divacancy qubits in 4H-siC.

This paper uses a new statistical method for studying self-organization in order to explain the origins of global catastrophes, namely the exceeding of the critical level of the planet’s organization. This method differs from traditional methods, because it uses specific notions such as the “entrostat” and “critical level of the organization of the open system”.

Alloy nanoparticles(nanoalloys)are widely applied in heterogeneous catalysts,advanced electrodes,biomaterials,and other *** properties of nanoalloys can be tuned to a significant extent by their structures and compositions,which are governed by the employed synthetic *** such synthesis occurs in nonequilibrium conditions and yields nanoalloys with structures and properties that are different from those obtained in thermodynamic *** this work,we characterize how the non-equilibrium conditions during the synthesis of Cu-Au alloys via physical vapor deposition(PVD)affect their morphology,composition,electronic structure,and reactivity in CO *** used molecular dynamics to simulate the PVD synthesis of Cu-Au nanoalloys through the non-isothermal aggregation of Cu and Au atoms at a 3:1 ratio in the Ar atmosphere to obtain realistic structures of Cu-Au *** to the different aggregation kinetics of Au and Cu atoms,the average Au concentration in the obtained Cu-Au particles varied between 14% and 50% depending on the nanoparticle size and the aggregation *** functional simulations revealed that the reactivity of the obtained Cu-Au clusters toward CO and oxygen as well as Brønsted-Evans-Polanyi relations for CO oxidation significantly depend on whether the clusters had fcc,icosahedral,or amorphous structures and do not strongly correlate with the d-band centers of the adsorption *** study highlights the importance of the non-equilibrium character of nanoalloy structure and composition for their electronic structure and catalytic *** performed analysis of the reactivity of Cu-Au clusters with realistic structures in CO oxidation will help the optimization of Cu-Au catalysts for this societally important reaction.
