Using hybrid models to predict blood pressure reactivity to unsupported back based on anthropometric characteristics

Accurate blood pressure （BP） measurement is essential in epidemiological studies, screening programmes, and research studies as well as in clinical practice for the early detection and prevention of high BP-related risks such as coronary heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure. Posture of the participant plays a vital role in accurate measurement of BP. Guidelines on measurement of BP contain recommendations on the position of the back of the participants by advising that they should sit with supported back to avoid spuriously high readings. In this work, principal component analysis （PCA） is fused with forward stepwise regression （SWR）, artificial neural network （ANN）, adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system （ANFIS）, and the least squares support vector machine （LS-SVM） model for the prediction of BP reactivity to an unsupported back in norrnotensive and hypertensive participants. PCA is used to remove multi-collinearity among anthropometric predictor variables and to select a subset of components, termed ＇principal components＇（PCs）, from the original dataset. The selected PCs are fed into the proposed models for modeling and testing. The evaluation of the performance of the constructed models, using appropriate statistical indices, shows clearly that a PCA-based LS-SVM （PCA-LS-SVM） model is a promising approach for the prediction of BP reactivity in comparison to others. This assessment demonstrates the importance and advantages posed by hybrid models for the prediction of variables in biomedical research studies.

Evaluation of anti-inflammatory potential of leaf extracts of Skimmia anquetilia

Objective:To evaluate anti-inflammatory potential of leaf extract of Skimmia anquetilia by invitro and in-vivo anti-inflammatory ***:Acute toxicity study was carried out to determine the toxicity level of different extract using acute toxic class method as described in Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development Guidelines ***(1% w/w) was administered and inflammation was induced in rat *** leaf extracts of Skimmia anquetilia were evaluated for anti-inflammatory activity by in-vitro human red blood cell(HRBC) membrane stabilization method and in-vivo carrangeenan-induced rat paw edema method. Results:The in-vitro membrane stabilizing test showed petroleum ether(PE),chloroform(CE), ethyl acetate(EE),methanol(ME) and aqueous extracts(AE) showed 49.44%,59.39%,60.15%,68.40% and 52.18%protection,respectively as compared to control *** in-vivo results of CE,EE and ME showed 58.20%.60.17%and 67.53%inhibition of inflammation after 6h administration of test drugs in albino *** potency of the leaf extracts of Skimmia anquetilia were compared with standard diclofenac(10 mg/kg) which showed 74.18%protection in in-vitro HRBC membrane stabilization test and 71.64%inhibition in in-vivo carrangeenan-induced rat paw edema model. The ME showed a dose dependent significant(P< 0.01) anti-inflammatory activity in human red blood cell membrane stabilization test and reduction of edema in carrageenan induced rat paw ***:The present investigation has confirmed the anti-inflammatory activity of Skimmia anquetilia due to presence of bioactive phytoconstitutes for the first lime and provide the pharmacological evidence in favor of traditional claim of Skimmia anquetilia as an antiinflammatory agent.

This work brings all new and advanced technology which is proposed for refinement and improvement in the existing electrification system at domestic as well as commercial levels including hotels, commercial complexes, apartments, rented floors and rooms. This advanced module will not only convey means of luxury but will also accomplish real-time energy monitoring and cost es-timation. This developed module will rule out entire re-wiring and will be fruitful at places where installation of a new meter was a problem. The new system after installation will offer means of comfort to the consumer, elderly as well as handicapped and disabled people in operating electric load with ease and comfort. Apart from this, it would also benefit the apartment/hotel owner’s and business personnel who have rented their property or portion of property and face problems in calculating energy bill.
