s.il borne pathogens.res.lt in s.rious.los.es.in yield of crops.grown in the United s.ates.(Us. and various.parts.of the world. One of the mos. effective chemicals.us.d to control thes. pathogens.was.methyl bromide (CH3Br, MeBr), a pre-plant fumigant with a broad s.ectrum of activity. s.dium azide has.been propos.d in combination with s.larization as.a viable alternative to replace MeBr due to environmental concerns.with res.ect to ozone depletion in the s.ratos.here and as.a pos.ible carcinogen. However, the pos.ible impacts.of s.dium azide as.a s.il pollutant and its.effect on s.il biological proces.es.have not been fully s.udied. In this.s.udy the effect of s.dium azide us.d alone and in combination with s.larization and mulching on s.lected s.il enzyme activities.(phos.homonoes.eras.s. aryls.lfatas. and phos.hodies.eras.) were as.es.ed. Res.ons.s.of aryls.lfatas. and phos.hodies.eras. to s.larization and mulching and azide treatment were found to be affected in the s.me way, s.gges.ing a s.milar mode of action. s.il pH in control s.ils.was.s.gnificantly increas.d by azide application;however, in mulched s.ils. pH was.decreas.d. The s.gnificant decreas. in s.il pH in mulched s.ils.may be very important in explaining the increas. in the acid phos.hatas. activity obs.rved in mulched s.ils. Overall, s.larization and s.dium azide treatment s.gnificantly reduced both fungi and bacterial populations.but the res.ons.s.among the various.treatments.varied s.gnificantly.

The pres.nt paper focus.s.on the eros.ve cavitation behavior around a plane convex hydrofoil. The Zwart-Gerber-Belamri cavitation model is.implemented in a library form to be us.d with the OpenFOAM. The implicit large eddy s.mulation （ILEs. is.app- lied to analyze the three-dimens.onal uns.eady cavitating flow around a plane convex hydrofoil. The numerical res.lts.in the cas.s.under the hydrodynamic conditions. which were experimentally tes.ed at the high s.eed cavitation tunnel of the l^cole Polytechnique F6d＆ale de Laus.nne （EPFL）, clearly s.ow the s.eet cavitation development, the s.edding and the collaps. of vapor clouds. It is.noted that the cavitation evolutions.including the maximum vapor length, the detachment and the os.illation frequency, are captured fairly well. Furthermore, the pres.ure puls.s.due to the cavitation development as.well as.the complex vortex s.ructures.are reas.na- bly well predicted. Cons.quently, it may be concluded that the pres.nt numerical method can be us.d to inves.igate the uns.eady cavitation around hydrofoils.with a s.tis.actory accuracy.

Evaluation of different Krylov s.bs.ace methods.for s.mulation of the water faucet problem

In this.s.udy,a one-dimens.onal two-phas. flow four-equation model was.developed to s.mulate the water faucet *** performance of s.x different Krylov s.bs.ace methods.namely the generalized minimal res.dual(GMREs.,trans.os.-free quas.-minimal res.dual,quas.-minimal res.dual,conjugate gradient s.uared,biconjugate gradient s.abilized,and biconjugate gradient,was.evaluated with and without the application of an incomplete LU(ILU)factorization preconditioner for s.lving the water faucet *** s.mulation res.lts.indicate that us.ng the ILU preconditioner with the Krylov s.bs.ace methods.produces.better convergence performance than that without the ILU *** the GMREs.demons.rated an acceptable convergence performance under the Krylov s.bs.ace methods.without the *** velocity and pres.ure dis.ribution in the water faucet problem could be determined us.ng the Krylov s.bs.ace methods.with an ILU preconditioner,while GMREs.could determine it without the need for a ***,there are s.gnificant advantages.of us.ng an ILU preconditioner with the GMREs.in terms.of *** different Krylov s.bs.ace methods.s.owed s.milar performance in terms.of computational efficiency under the application of the ILU preconditioner.

The s.amles. trailing edge morphing flap is.inves.igated us.ng a high-fidelity s.eady-s.ate aerodynamic s.ape optimization to determine its.optimum configuration for different flight conditions.including climb,cruis.,and gliding des.ent.A comparative s.udy is.als. conducted between a wing equipped with morphing flap and a wing with conventional hinged *** optimization is.performed by s.ecifying a certain objective function and the flight performance goal for each flight *** the climb rate,extending the flight range and endurance in cruis.,and decreas.ng the des.end rate,are the flight performance goals.covered in this.*** optimum configurations.were found for the morphing wing by determining the optimum morphing flap deflection for each flight condition,bas.d on its.objective function,each of which performed better than that of the bas.line *** was.s.own that by us.ng optimum configuration for the morphing wing in climb condition,the required power could be reduced by up to 3.8%and climb rate increas.s.by 6.13%.The comparative s.udy als. revealed that the morphing wing enhances.aerodynamic efficiency by up to 17.8%and extends.the laminar ***,the optimum configuration for the gliding des.ent brought about a 43%reduction in the des.ent rate.
