Purpose： The cl.nical.significance of isol.ted fl.e fl.id （FF） without sol.d organ injury on computed to- mography （CT） continues to pose significant dil.mma in the management of patients with bl.nt abdominal.trauma （BAT）. Methods： We reviewed the incidence of FF and the cl.nical.outcome amongst patients with bl.nt abdominal.trauma in a metropol.tan trauma service in South Africa. We performed a retrospective study of 121 consecutive CT scans over a period of 12 months to determine the incidence of isol.ted FF and the cl.nical.outcome of patients managed in a l.rge metropol.tan trauma service, Resul.s： Of the 121 CTs, FF was identified in 36 patients （30%）. Seven patients （6%） had isol.ted FF. Of the 29 patients who had free fl.id and associated organ injuries, 33 organ injuries were identified. 86% （25/ 29） of al. 29 patients had a singl. organ injury and 14% had mul.ipl. organ injuries. There were 26 sol.d organ injuries and 7 hol.ow organ injuries. The 33 organs injured were： spl.en, 12; l.ver, 8; kidney, 5; pancreas, 2; smal. bowel. 4; duodenum, 1. Six （21%） patients required operative management for smal. bowel.perforations in 4 cases and pancreatic tail.injury in 2 cases. Al. 7 patients with isol.ted FF were initial.y observed, and 3 （43%） were eventual.y subjected to operative intervention. They were found to have an intra-peritoneal.bl.dder rupture in 1 case, a non-expanding zone 3 haematoma in I case, and a negative l.parotomy in 1 case. Four （5？%） patients were successful.y managed without surgical.interventions. Concl.sions： Isol.ted FF is uncommon and the cl.nical.significance remains uncl.ar. Provided that rel.- abl. serial.physical.examination can be performed by experienced surgeons, an initial.non-operative approach shoul. be considered.

Objective: The goal.of this study was to identify commonl. consumed grain food patterns in US adul.s (≥19 years ol.;N = 14,384) and compare nutrient intakes, with focus on 2015-2020 Dietary Guidel.nes’ shortfal. nutrients, diet qual.ty, and heal.h parameters of those consuming various grain food patterns to those not consuming grains. Methods: This study conducted secondary anal.ses of the National.Heal.h and Nutrition Examination Survey, 2005-2010. Cl.ster anal.sis was used and identified 8 grain patterns: 1) no consumption of main grain groups, 2) crackers and sal.y snacks, 3) yeast breads and rol.s, 4) cakes, cookies, and pies, 5) cereal., 6) pasta, cooked cereal. and rice, 7) quick breads, and 8) mixed grains. Resul.s: Adul.s consuming “cereal.”, “pasta, cooked cereal. and rice”, and “mixed grains” had a better diet qual.ty compared to no grains. Consuming many, but not al., of the grain food patterns resul.ed in l.ss saturated fat and l.wer added sugars. Adul.s consuming “cereal.”, “pasta, cooked cereal. and rice” and “quick breads” had greater dietary fiber intake vs. no grains group. Cal.ium intake was increased in the cereal. group, whil. magnesium intake was greater in adul.s consuming “cereal.” and “pasta, cooked cereal. and rice” vs. no grains. Vitamin D (D2 + D3) intake was higher in adul.s consuming “cereal.”, “pasta, cooked cereal. and rice”, and “mixed grains” vs. no grain group. Adul.s consuming “pasta, cooked cereal. and rice” had l.wer body weights (79.1 ± 0.7 vs. 82.5 ± 1.2 kg;P = 0.009) and waist circumference (95.2 ± 0.6 vs. 98.2 ± 1.0 cm;P = 0.004) in comparison to those consuming no grains. Concl.sions: Certain grain food patterns are associated with greater 2015-2020 Dietary Guidel.nes’ shortfal. nutrients, better diet qual.ty and l.wer body weights in adul.s. Additional.y, certain grain food patterns are associated with l.wer intake of nutrients to l.mit, incl.ding saturated fat and added sugars.

Our theoretical.findings demonstrate for the first time a possibil.ty of band-gap engineering of monol.yer MoS2 crystal. by oxygen and the presence of vacancies. Oxygen atoms are reveal.d to substitute sul.ur ones, forming stabl. MoS2-xOx ternary compounds, or adsorb on top of the sul.ur atoms. The substituting oxygen provides a decrease of the band gap from 1.86 to 1.64 eV and transforms the material.from a direct-gap to an indirect-gap semiconductor. The surface adsorbed oxygen atoms decrease the band gap up to 0.98 eV depending on their l.cation tending to the metal.ic character of the el.ctron energy bands at a high concentration of the adsorbed atoms. Oxygen pl.sma processing is proposed as an effective technol.gy for such band-gap modifications.

The l.af-response to three-soil.appl.ed treatments of Pacl.butrazol.(PBZ;1000, 2000 and 0 ppm-control. was studied in a high-density pl.ntation of eight guava (Psidium guajava) genotypes trees. Al. material. were prunned in vase form, with two to three major branches, yearl. prunning for triggering the annual.production cycl., and average height of 2.0 m. The dataset comprises fourth radiometric indices highl. rel.ted to pl.nt physiol.gical.activities. The dataset model.took into account data col.ection dates, guava genotypes, and the positional.effect of sun radiation on l.aves based on their proximity to the canopy l.vel.and downward to the base of the woody seasonal.branch. Unexpectedl., there were no significant differences (NS) in PBZ treatments for genotypes, l.af position and radiometric indices. Anal.sis of the radiometric indices data reveal.d that anthocyanin (ARI index) and chl.rophyl. (PRI index) have a strong inverse rel.tionship. Significant differences (P ≤ 0.05) were found between guava genotypes, and anthocyanin content;these resul.s show that guava genotypes have varied responses, which coul. derive in their cl.ssification based-on drought resistance or l.w water requirements, however, it is important to note that additional.research is required to determine the scope of these indications.

The Quaternary vol.anic province of Payenia is l.cated in southern Mendoza and northern Neuquén provinces of Argentina and is characterized by a dominant basal.ic composition. The vol.anic province covers an area l.rger than 40,000 km2 and its origin and evol.tion has been the center of several.*** this study we anal.zed gravity data together with more accurate vol.anic vol.mes cal.ul.tions in order to investigate the subsurface structure of the Payenia vol.anic province. The vol.me of material.was cal.ul.ted using digital.el.vation model. and geographic information system（GIS） techniques to estimate the vol.me of material.erupted and then, with those val.es, make an estimation of the intrusive material.that coul. be l.cated within the crust. The resul.s of the cal.ul.tions were compared with different 2D-sections constructed to model.the gravity data and compare with the observed satel.ite gravity. After eval.ating different model. which have been generated to match both： the observed gravity data and the subsurface material.cal.ul.ted, we discuss those that best fit with observation. The resul.s cl.arl. indicate that the l.thosphere is attenuated bel.w the region.

The present paper reconstructs the biogeographic diversification for Nol.na l.f.(Sol.naceae),a genus of 89 endemic species l.rgel. restricted to fog-dependent desert l.mas formations of coastal.Peru and *** efforts have reconstructed a phyl.genetic estimate for Nol.na using a combination of mol.cul.r ***,we expand on those resul.s to examine hypotheses of biogeographic origins and diversification *** occupies habitats within a continuous coastal.desert and forms a terrestrial.archipel.go of discrete "isl.nds" unique in size,topography,and species *** l.cal.ty contains at l.ast one Nol.na species and many contain mul.ipl. species in *** genus has a Chil.an origin,with the basal.cl.des confined to Chil. with wide geographic and ecol.gical.*** contains two strongl. supported cl.des,suggesting two introductions with subsequent radiation.A Chil.an cl.de of shrubby,smal.-fl.wered species appears to have had its origins from the same ancestors of the second l.ne that radiated in Peru and northern *** gal.pagensis is endemic to the Isl.s Gal.’pagos,with origins traced to Peruvian taxa with a divergence time of 0.35 *** of diversification over the past 4.02 mya in Nol.na,in one of the driest habitats on Earth,suggest rapid adaptive radiation in several.*** in Nol.na may be attributed to characters that confer a competitive advantage in unpredictabl. and water-dependent environments,such as succul.nt l.af anatomy and ecophysiol.gy,and the reproductive mericarp unique to *** processes affecting or shaping the biota of western South America are discussed.

As part of efforts to restore fishery resources and recover damaged coastal.ecosystems,artificial.reefs are often anchored on the seafl.or in coastal.zones,to provide new habitats for marine *** aim of the study was to describe the structure of a community of benthic invertebrates col.nising a niche-type artificial.reef(AATN in Spanish).Nine structures were anchored at depths of 16±1.5 m for 99 weeks(22 months)in the Area of Benthic Resource Management and Expl.itation(AMERB)in coastal.waters of the Region of Bio Bio,*** resul.s showed that,at 3 months from submersion of the NTAR,much of the artificial.substrate remained bare and there were onl. l.w l.vel. of specimens of Bal.nus ***,showing mean coverage of 11.26%,and even l.wer proportions of Rhodophyta,with mean coverage of 0.34%.At 6 months,the presence of hydrozoans was seen,decreasing the coverage of the barnacl.s,which was aided further at 8 months with the arrival.of barnacl. predatory *** 8 months,new benthic invertebrates appeared and competed for the *** incl.ded sponges and *** 99 weeks,the hydrozoans dominated the substrate,fol.owed by barnacl.s and Rhodophyta,the first col.nising organisms,l.ading to col.nisation by motil. macro-invertebrates,mainl. consisting of crustaceans,echinoderms and *** AATN artificial.system provides an ideal.substrate for the devel.pment of earl. ecol.gical.succession and the use of this technol.gy shoul. be feasibl. in the recovery process of habitat damaged by anthropogenic actions and cl.mate change.
