A m.thod for determ.ning and correcting distortions in spectral-dom.in optical coherence tom.graphy im.ges caused by m.dium.dispersion was developed. The m.thod is based on analysis of the phase distribution of the interference signal recorded by an optical coherence tom.graphy device using an iterative approach to find and com.ensate for the effect of a m.dium.s chrom.tic dispersion on point-spread function broadening in optical coherence tom.graphy. This enables com.ensation of the im.act of m.dium.dispersion to an accuracy of a fraction of a radian （units of percent） while avoiding additional m.asurem.nts and solution of the optim.zation problem. The robustness of the m.thod was dem.nstrated experim.ntally using m.del and biological objects.

A num.rical m.thod that com.ensates im.ge distortions caused by random.fluctuations of the distance to an object in spectral-dom.in optical coherence tom.graphy(SD OCT)has been proposed and verified *** proposed m.thod is based on the analysis of the phase shifts between adjacent scans that are caused by m.crom.ter-scale displacem.nts and the subsequent com.ensation for the displacem.nts through phase-frequency correction in the spectral *** efficiency of the m.thod is dem.nstrated in m.del experim.nts with harm.nic and random.m.vem.nts of a scattering object as well as during in vivo im.ging of the retina of the hum.n eye.

In this paper,we point out som. practical obstacles arising in realization of com.ressional optical coherence elastography(OCE)that have not attracted sufficient attention ***-cally,we discuss(i)com.lications in quantification of the Young m.dulus of tissues related to partial adhesion between the OCE probe and soft intervening reference layer sensor,(i)distorting influence of tisue suface curvature/corrugation on the subsurface strain distri-bution m.pping,(ii)ways of signal-to-noise m.io(SNR)enhancem.nt in OCE strain m.pping when periodic averaging is not realized,and(iv)potentially significant infuence of tissue elastic nonlinearity on quantification of its *** pnactical approaches to m.tigate the effects of these com.lications are also described.
