The crystal and molecular structure of 2-Amino-3-ethyl carboxamido-4-methyl-5-carboxy ethyl thiophene (C11H16N2O3S) has been investigated from single crystal X-ray diffraction data. The primary focus is to investigate the molecular geometry of this compound in the solid state along with the associated inter and intra-molecular hydrogen bonding and related weak interactions present in this molecule. This compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with cell parameters, a = 8.1344(3) , b = 13.7392(4) , c = 11.4704(4) , β = 100.769(2), v = 1259.36 (7) 3, D = 1.352 g·cm–3, Z = 4. The molecular geometry is stabilized by intra-molecular N-H…O=C and C-H…O interactions along with intramolecular C-H…N and C-H…O interactions which contribute towards the stability of the crystal packing.

Stability-indicating assay method for determination of actarit,its process related impurities and degradation products:Insight into stability profile and degradation pathways

The stability of the drug actarit was studied under different stress conditions like hydrolysis（acid,alkaline and neutral）,oxidation,photolysis and thermal degradation as recommended hy International Conference on Harmonization（ICH） *** was found to be unstable in acidic,basic and photolytic conditions and produced a common degradation product while oxidative stress condition produced three additional degradation *** was impassive to neutral hydrolysis,dry thermal and accelerated stability *** products were identified,isolated and characterized by different spectroscopic *** and the degradation products were synthesized by a new route using green *** chromatographic separation of the drug and its impurities was achieved in a phenomenex luna C18 column employing a step gradient elution by high performance liquid chromatography coupled to photodiode array and mass spectrometry detectors（HPLC-PDAMS）.A specilic and sensitive stability-indicating assay method for the simultaneous determination of the drug *** process related impurities and degradation products was developed and validated.

Improvement of Plasma Performance with Lithium Wall Conditioning in Aditya Tokamak

Lithiumization of the vacuum vessel wall of the Aditya tokamak using a lithium rod exposed to glow discharge cleaning plasma has been done to understand its effect on plasma performance. After the Li-coating, an increment of ~100 ev in plasma electron temperature has been observed in most of the discharges compared to discharges without Li coating, and the shot reproducibility is considerably improved. Detailed studies of impurity behaviour and hydrogen recycling are made in the Li coated discharges by observing spectral lines of hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen in the visible region using optical fiber, an interference filter, and PMT based systems. A large reduction in O I signal （up to ~40% to 50%） and a 20% to 30% decrease of Ha signal indicate significant reduction of wall recycling. Furthermore, vUv emissions from O v and Fe Xv monitored by a grazing incidence monochromator also show the reduction. Lower Fe Xv emission indicates the declined impurity penetration to the core plasma in the Li coated discharges. Significant increase of the particle and energy confinement times and the reduction of Zeff of the plasma certainly indicate the improved plasma parameters in the Aditya tokamak after lithium wall conditioning.

Design of a robust PID-PSS for an uncertain power system with simplified stability conditions

In a deregulated power system uncertainty exists and lack of sufficient damping can lead to Low FrequencyOscillations (LFO). The problem can be addressed using robust Power System Stabilizers (PSS). In this paper, anoptimal procedure to design a robust PID-PSS using interval arithmetic for the Single Machine Infinite Bus (SMIB)power system is proposed. The interval modelling captures the wide variations of operating conditions in boundsof system coefficients. In the proposed design procedure, simple and new closed loop stability conditions for anSMIB interval system are developed and are used to design an optimum PID-PSS for improving the performance ofan SMIB system. The optimum PID-PSS is attained by tuning the parameters using the FMINCON tool provided inMATLAB. The robustness of the proposed PID-PSS design is validated and compared to other notable methods inthe literature when the system is subjected to different uncertainties. The simulation results and performance errorvalues show the effectiveness of the proposed robust PID-PSS controller.
