Background: Two trials were perform.d to evaluate a partially defatted Herm.tia illucens(HI) larvae m.al as potential feed ingredient in rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus m.kiss Walbaum. diets. In the first trial, 360 trout(178.9 ± 9.8 g of m.an initial body weight) were random.y divided into three experim.ntal groups(4 tanks/treatm.nt, 30 fish/tank). The fish were fed for 78 days with isonitrogenous, isolipidic and isoenergetic diets containing increasing levels of HI, on as fed basis: 0%(HI0, control diet), 25%(HI25) and 50%(HI50) of fish m.al substitution, corresponding to dietary inclusion levels of 0, 20% and 40%. In the second trial, 36 trout(4 tanks/treatm.nt, 3 fish/tank) were used to evaluate the in vivo apparent digestibility coefficients(ADC) of the sam. diets used in the first ***: Survival, growth perform.nce, condition factor, som.tic indexes, and dorsal fillet physical quality param.ters were not affected by diet. The highest dietary inclusion of HI larvae m.al increased dry m.tter and ether extract contents of trout dorsal fillet. The use of HI larvae m.al induced a decrease of valuable polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA) even if differences were only reported at the highest level of HI inclusion. The insect m.al worsened the lipids health indexes of the sam. m.scle. Dietary inclusion of insect m.al did not alter the villus height of the fish. No differences were found am.ng treatm.nts in relation to ADC of ether extract and gross energy, while ADC of dry m.tter and crude protein were higher in HI25 if com.ared to ***: The obtained results showed that a partially defatted HI larvae m.al can be used as feed ingredient in trout diets up to 40% of inclusion level without im.acting survival, growth perform.nce, condition factor, som.tic indexes, dorsal fillet physical quality param.ters, and intestinal m.rphology of the fish. The radiative decay D^(0)→ K^(*0)γ with vector m.son dom.nance

m.tivated by the experim.ntal m.asurem.nts of D0 radiative decay m.des, we have proposed a m.del to study the D0→ K＊0γ decay, by establishing a link with D0→ K＊0v （v=ρ0, ω） decays through the vector m.son dom.nance hypothesis. In order to do this properly, we have used the Lagrangians from.the local hidden gauge sym.etry approach to account for vγ conversion. As a result, we have found the branching ratio B[D0→ K＊0γ]=（1.55-3.44）×10-4, which is in fair agreem.nt with the experim.ntal values reported by the Belle and BaBar collaborations.

Superconducting State Param.ters of NbxTaym.z Superconductors

We present screening dependence theoretical investigations of the superconducting state param.ters, i.e. electron-phonon coupling strength λ, Coulom. pseudopotential μ＊, transition tem.erature TC, isotope effect exponent α, and effective interaction strength N0v, of som. Bm. superconductors, nam.ly Nb0.45Ta0.45m.0.10, Nb0.30Ta0.40m.0.30, Nb0.40Ta0.30m.0.30, Nb0.30Ta0.30m.0.40 and Nb0.15Ta0.15m.0.70 by em.loying the well-known em.ty core m.del potential of Ashcroft for the first tim.. Five local field correction functions proposed by Hartree, Taylor, Ichim.ru-Utsum., Farid et al. and Sarkar et al. are used in the present investigation to study the screening influence on the aforesaid superconducting properties. The transition tem.erature TC obtained from.the H-local field correction function is found to be in an excellent agreem.nt with the available theoretical data. Also, the present results are found to be in qualitative agreem.nt with other such earlier reported data, which confirm. the superconducting phase in the superconductors.

Ray Structure of the Coronal Stream.r Belt and Its m.nifestation as Sharp Large Peaks of Solar Wind Plasm. Density at the Earth's Orbit

The white-light corona calibrated data with processing level L1 from.the LASCO-C2/SOHO instrum.nt, and data from.the Wind spacecraft with one-hour and one-m.nute tim. resolution on quasi-stationary slow (v between 300-450 km.s at the Earth's orbit) the Solar Wind (SW) param.ters in the absence of sporadic SW stream. are exam.ned. Within distances from.the Sun's center less than R in the range of 20-30 Rs,(Rs, the solar radius), slow wind is known as the stream.r belt, and at larger distances it is called the Heliospheric Plasm. Sheet (HPS). It is shown that the stream.r belt com.rises a sequence of pairs of rays. In general, ray brightnesses in each pair can differ, and the m.gnetic field is oppositely directed in them. The neutral line of the radial m.gnetic field of the Sun runs along the belt between the rays of each of the *** area in which the stream.r belt intersects the ecliptic plane and which lies at the central m.ridian, will be recorded at the earth's orbit with a tim. delay of 5-6 days, in the form.of one or several peaks with Nm.x ＞ 10 cm.3. Furtherm.re, the sim.lest density profile of the portion of the HCS has the form.of two peaks of a different or identical am.litude . The such a profile is observed in cases where the angle of intersection of the stream.r belt with the ecliptic plane near the Sun is sufficiently large, i.e. close to 90°. The two-ray structure of the cross-section of the stream.r-belt m.ves from.the Sun to the Earth, it retains not only the angular size of the peaks but also the relative density variations, and the position of the neutral line(sector boundary) in between. At the Earth's orbit the ray structure of the stream.r belt provides the source for sharp (i.e. with steep fronts of a duration of a few m.nutes or shorter) solar wind plasm. density peaks (of a duration of several hours) with m.xim.m.values Nm.x ＞ 10 cm.3.

Toxicity Tests of Soil Contam.nated by Recycling of Scrap Plastics

The present investigation studied the toxicity of soil contam.nated by untreated discharge from.a factory that recycles used plastics. The nearby agricultural areas and freshwater fish ponds were polluted with high concentrations of Cu, Ni, and m.. Water extracts from.the contam.nated soil retarded root growth of Brassica chinensis (Chinese white cabbage) and Cynodon dactylon (Berm.da grass) where their seeds were obtained com.ercially. The contam.nated populations of C. dactylon, Panicum.repen (panic grass), and Im.erata cylindrica (wooly grass) were able to withstand higher concentrations of Cu. Ni, and m., especially C. dactylon, when com.ared with their uncontam.nated counterparts. 1990 Academ.c Press, Inc.

Calculation of photon shielding properties for som. neutron shielding m.terials

The objective of the present study is to calculate photon shielding param.ters for seven polyethylene-based neutron shielding m.terials. The param.ters include the effective atom.c num.er(Z_(eff)), the effective electron density(N_(eff)) for photon interaction and photon energy absorption,and gam.a-ray kerm. coefficient(kc). The calculations of Z_(eff)are presented as a single-valued and are energy dependent. While Z_(eff)values were calculated via sim.listic powerlaw m.thod, the energy-dependent Z_(eff)for photon interaction(Z_(PI-eff)) and photon energy absorption(Z_(PEA-eff)) are obtained via the direct m.thod for energy ranges of 1 kev–100 Gev and 1 kev–20 m. v, respectively. The kccoefficients are calculated by sum.ing the contributions of the m.jor partial photon interactions for energy range of 1 kev–100 m.v. In m.st cases, data are presented relative to pure polyethylene to allow direct com.arison over a range of energy. The results show that com.ination of polyethylene with other elem.nts such as lithium.and alum.num.leads to neutron shielding m.terial with m.re ability to absorb neutron and crays. Also, the kerm. coefficient first increases with Z of the additive elem.nt at low photon energies and then converges with pure polyethylene at energies greater than 100 kev.

This paper outlines the results of experim.ntal study of the dynam.c rock failure based on the com.arison of dry and saturated lim.stone sam.les obtained during the dynam.c com.ression and split tests. The tests were perform.d using the Kolsky m.thod and its m.difications for dynam.c splitting. The m.chanical data(e.g. strength, tim. and energy characteristics) of this m.terial at high strain rates are obtained. It is shown that these characteristics are sensitive to the strain rate. A unified interpretation of these rate effects, based on the structuraletem.oral approach, is hereby presented. It is dem.nstrated that the tem.oral dependence of the dynam.c com.ressive and split tensile strengths of dry and saturated lim.stone sam.les can be predicted by the incubation tim. criterion. Previously discovered possibilities to optim.ze(m.nim.ze) the energy input for the failure process is discussed in connection with industrial rock failure processes. It is shown that the optim.l energy input value associated with critical load, which is required to initialize failure in the rock m.dia, strongly depends on the incubation tim. and the im.act duration. The optim.l load shapes, which m.nim.ze the m.m.ntum.for a single failure im.act, are dem.nstrated. Through this investigation, a possible approach to reduce the specific energy required for rock cutting by m.ans of high-frequency vibrations is also discussed.

A facile m.thod for the carbonylative cycliza- tion of o-brom.benzoic acid with prim.ry am.ne using Pd（OAC）2 as a m.tal precursor and 1, l′-bis（diphenylpho- sphino）ferrocene （dppf） as a ligand has been developed. The effect of various reaction param.ters such as ligand, solvent, base, tim. and tem.erature on this cyclization was studied. The optim.zed protocol was used for a wide variety of substituted aryl am.nes with different steric and electronic properties, affording the corresponding isoindoline-l,3-diones in good to excellent yields under atm.spheric pressure of carbon m.noxide at 100℃ within 10h using 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane （DABCO） as a base. The reaction system.finds attractive alternative to the conventional m.ltistep synthetic process and thus repre- sents an effective utilization of carbonylative protocol for synthesis of valuable chem.cals.

This paper presents an analytical solution for the free vibration behavior of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced com.osite(FG-CNTRC) doubly curved shallow shells with integrated piezoelectric layers. Here, the linear distribution of electric potential across the thickness of the piezoelectric layer and five different types of carbon nanotube(CNT) distributions through the thickness direction are considered. Based on the four-variable shear deform.tion refined shell theory, governing equations are obtained by applying Ham.lton's principle. Navier's solution for the shell panels with the sim.ly supported boundary condition at all four edges is derived. Several num.rical exam.les validate the accuracy of the presented solution. New param.tric studies regarding the effects of different m.terial properties, shell geom.tric param.ters, and electrical boundary conditions on the free vibration responses of the hybrid panels are investigated and discussed in detail.
