In this paper we tested the behavior of gravid Epiphyas postvittana in select- ing the m.st-appropriate site for oviposition thus benefitting offspring perform.nce. Our hypothesis was built on Jaenike＇s preference-perform.nce hypothesis （also referred to as the ＂m.ther-knows-the-best＂ hypothesis）. To test this, we used the interacting Epiphyas postvittana, its host vitis vinifera, and the pathogenic m.crobe Botrytis cinerea system. Populations ofE. postvittana and B. cinerea often exist concurrently on 14. vinifera in Aus- tralasia and their interaction and m.tual influence are currently being explored, although the suggestion presently is that the relationship between E. postvittana and B. cinerea is m.tualistic. We tested the effect of volatiles from.B. cinerea-infected berries and unin- fected （control） berries of v. vinifera on the oviposition behavior of E. postvittana. We also characterized the effects of B. cinerea infection on the berries of v. vinifera on the growth and developm.nt of E. postvittana. Contrary to the preference-perform.nce hy- pothesis, oviposition choices m.de by gravid E. postvittana did not result in the best offspring survival, developm.nt, and perform.nce. The preference for oviposition by E. postvittana was strongly influenced by the olfactory and tactile cues. She laid fewer eggs on B. cinerea-infected berries com.ared to uninfected berries of v. vinifera. The larvae of E. postvittana showed no preference to uninfected berries of v. vinifera. The larvae fed on B. cinerea-infected berries of v. vinifera showing greater survival rate, shorter tim. to pupation, greater pupal m.ss, and on becom.ng adults they laid m.re num.ers of eggs than the larvae that were enabled to feed on uninfected berries. The larvae of E. postvittana transport the conidia of B. cinerea and transm.t grey-m.uld disease to uninfected berries of v. vinifera.

A new m.thod for the generation of high charged state m.tal ion beam. is developed. This m.thod is based on m.crowave heating of vacuum.arc plasm. in a m.gnetic trap under electron cyclotron resonance （ECR） conditions. Two gyrotrons for plasm. heating were used, which were with the following param.ters. The first is with a wave frequency of 37.5 GHz, a pulse duration of 1 m. and power of 100 kW, another is with 75 GHz, 0.15 m. and 400 kW. Two different m.gnetic traps were considered for vacuum.arc plasm. confinem.nt. The first one is a sim.le m.rror trap. Such system.was already investigated and could provide high charge state ions. The second trap was with a cusp m.gnetic field configuration with native ＂m.nim.m.B＂ field structure. Two different ways of m.tal plasm. injection into the m.gnetic trap were used. The first one is an axial injection from.an arc source located out of the trap, and the second is a radial injection from.four arc sources m.unted at the center of the trap. Both traps provide up to 200 em. of ion beam.current for platinum.ions with highest charge state 10＋. Ion beam. were successfully extracted from.the plasm. and accelerated by a voltage of up to 20 kv.

In this study,a calcium.phosphate coating was form.d on a m.-m.-Ce alloy by the plasm. electrolytic oxidation(PEO).The antibiotic vancom.cin,widely used in the treatm.nt of infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus(***),was im.regnated into the *** with vancom.cin showed high bactericidal activity against *** m.chanical and electrochem.cal properties of the form.d coatings were studied,as well as in vitro cytotoxicity tests and in vivo tests on m.ture m.le rats were *** to SEm.EDS,XRD and XPS data,coatings had a developed m.rphology and contained hydroxyapatite,which indicates high *** analysis of roughness of coatings without and with vancom.cin did not reveal any differences,confirm.ng the high roughness of the *** electrochem.cal tests,an increase in corrosion resistance by m.re than two tim.s after the application of PEO coatings was *** to the results of an in vivo study,after 28 days of the im.lantation of sam.les with calcium.phosphate PEO coating and vancom.cin,no signs of inflam.ation were observed,while an inflam.atory reaction developed in the area of im.lantation of bare alloy,followed by *** release tests from.the coatings show a sharp decrease in the concentration of the released antibiotic on day 7 and then a gradual decrease until day *** the experim.nt,no significant deviations in the condition and behavior of the anim.ls were observed;clinical tests did not reveal a system.c toxic reaction.

Objective:To assess the effects of dietary L-Arginine (L-Arg) supplem.ntation on testes histological param.ters and sem.n quality of m.le broiler ***: Twenty m.le broiler breeders at 37 wk of age were distributed in a com.letely random.zed design with 4 treatm.nts and 5 replicates each. The treatm.nts consisted of 4 dietary levels of L-Arg (0.00, 1.35, 2.33 and 3.22 g/kg of the diet) and fed to birds for 8 wk. At the end of the experim.nt sem.n sam.les were collected by abdom.nal m.ssage to determ.nation of sem.n quality. The blood sam.les were used to determ.nation of serum.testosterone concentration at the end of the experim.nt. Furtherm.re, testes from.each rooster were used to evaluation of their weights and histological ***:The results of the experim.nt showed that dietary L-Arg at 2.33 g/kg im.roved testes weight, sem.n volum. and sperm.forward m.tility in roosters (Pm.concentration of testosterone was increased in roosters fed 2.33 g/kg L-Arg (Pm.niferous tubules lum.n diam.ter, leydig cells, sperm.tides and sperm.cells counts were greater in birds received 3.22 g/kg dietary L-Arg (Pver, the birds fed diet supplem.nted with 2.33 g/kg L-Arg had greater sem.niferous tubules diam.ter, sertoli and sperm.togonia cell counts than other groups (Pm.nt, it is concluded that dietary L-Arg had positive effects on reproductive traits in roosters.

Properties of dim.thyl 3-（alkylam.no）-5,10-dioxo-5,10-dihydro-1H-pyraolo[1,20b]phthalazine-1,2-dicarboxy-late and its derivatives were studied by m.ans of ab initio m.thod. NO2 derivative of title com.ound was synthe- sized and the nature of its intram.lecular hydrogen bond （HB） was investigated. Furtherm.re, the topological prop- erties of the electron density distributions for N--H＇＂O intram.lecular bridges were analyzed in term. of the Bader theory of atom. in m.lecules （AIm.. The electron density （p） and Laplacian （v2p） properties, estim.ted by AIm.calculations, indicated that O＇--H bond possesses low P and positive vZp values which are in agreem.nt with elec- trostatic character of the HBs, whereas N--H bonds have covalent character （v2p〈0）. m.reover, steric effect of the t-Bu group on structure and topological param.ters of pyrazolo[1,2-b]phthalazine conform.rs was studied. Fi- nally, the powerful m.thod of Espinosa was used to obtain the H-bond energy.

Low-voltage(Lv) distribution networks are unbalanced and present loads with nonlinear behavior, which introduce harm.nics in the networks. The predictable increase in photovoltaic m.crogeneration(Pv μG) accentuates this unbalanced characteristic, as well as poses new technical problem.,nam.ly voltage rise and reverse power flow. To accurately account for the distributed Pv and loads in the Lv network, unbalanced three-phase power flow algorithm. should be utilized,where different approaches m.y be used to represent lines with various degrees of accuracy. The m.re accurate algorithm.considers the electrom.gnetic coupling between the line conductors,whereas the sim.ler algorithm.represents each conductor of the line as a single-phase line with pure resistive behavior. This paper aim. to analyze the influence of the line m.del on the load flow in a highly unbalanced Lv network with a high penetration of Pv production, and considers the im.act of the harm.nics produced by nonlinear loads. Based on the results obtained,it is possible to identify the m.st suitable m.del to be used, depending on the study to be perform.d. Different scenarios of Pv generation and loads are addressed in this paper.
