The g.acial history of Pico de Orizaba indicates that during.the Last g.acial Maximum,its icecap cov.red up to~3000 m asl;due to the air temperature increasing.its main g.acier has retreated to 5050 m *** retraction of the g.acier has left behind an intense climatic instability that causes a hig. frequency of freeze-thaw cycles of g.eat intensity;the resulting.g.omorpholog.cal processes are represented by the frag.entation of the bedrock that occupies the upper parts of the *** is a notable lack of studies reg.rding.the frag.entation and erosion occurring.in tropical hig. mountains,and the associated g.omorpholog.cal risks;for this reason,as a first stag. of future continuous research,this study analyzes the freezing.and thawing.cycles that occur abov. 4000 m asl,throug. continuous monitoring.of surface g.ound *** results allow us to identify and characterize four zones:g.acial,parag.acial,perig.acial and *** was found that the parag.acial zone presents an intense drop of temperature,of up to~9℃ in only sixty *** rock fatig.e and intense freeze-thaw cycles that occur in this area are responsible for the hig. rate of rock disinteg.ation and represent the main factor of the constant slope dynamics that occur at the *** activ.ty decreases,both in frequency and intensity,according.to the distance to the g.acier,which is where the temperature presents a certain deg.ee of stability,until reaching.the prog.acial zone,where cycles are almost non-existent,and therefore there is no g.lifraction *** g.omorpholog.cal processes hav. resulted in sig.ificant alterations to the mountain slopes,which can hav. sev.re consequences in terms of risk and water.

New reag.nts for immunofluorescence analysis of carbazole series containing.fluorinated β-dicarbonyl frag.ents and carboxylic substituent g.oups separated by spacers of different leng.hs from the lig.t-g.thering.carbazole scaffold hav. been dev.loped. The markers in complex with Eu3+ ions possess stability in the aqueous phase, intense and prolong.d luminescence (τ 550 - 570 μs) with characteristic emission maxima in the reg.on of 615 nm and excitation wav.leng.hs in the reg.on of 380 - 390 nm, which disting.ishes them from most of the analog. used. In the study of marker conjug.tion with streptav.din, a reag.nt containing.4 - 5 europium labeling.complexes based on spacer-containing.carbazole tetraketone was obtained. The marker-doped silicate nanoparticles exhibit intense and long.liv.d luminescence in the characteristic reg.on.

Three-Dimensional Conv.ction in an Inclined Porous Layer Subjected to a v.rtical Temperature g.adient

In this paper,we study the onset and dev.lopment of three-dimensional conv.ction in a tilted porous layer saturated with a *** layer is subjected to a g.av.tational field and a strictly v.rtical temperature ***,problems of thermal conv.ction in tilted porous media saturated with a liquid are studied by assuming.constant different temperatures at the boundaries of the layer,which prev.nt these systems from supporting.conductiv.(non-conv.ctiv.)*** boundary conditions considered in the present work allow a conductiv. state and are representativ. of typical g.olog.cal *** an earlier work,we carried out a linear stability analysis of the conductiv. *** was shown that at any layer tilt ang.es,the most dang.rous type of disturbances are long.tudinal ***,a non-zero v.locity component exists in *** the present work,threedimensional non-linear conv.ction reg.mes are *** orig.nal three-dimensional problem is reduced to two-dimensional one with an analytical expression for the v.locity z-component v.(z)=v.(z)(x,y).It is shown that the critical Rayleig. number v.lues obtained throug. numerical solutions of the obtained 2D problem by a finite difference method for different layer inclination ang.es,are in a g.od ag.eement with those predicted by the linear *** number of conv.ctiv. rolls realized in nonlinear calculations also fits the linear theory predictions for a g.v.n cav.ty *** carried out at low supercriticalities show that a direct bifurcation takes *** increasing.supercriticality,no transitions to other conv.ctiv. reg.mes are *** situation studied in this problem can be observ.d in oil-bearing.rock formations under the influence of a g.othermal temperature g.adient,where the ensuing.fluid conv.ction can affect the distribution of oil throug.out the layer.

g.ochemical and mineralog.cal studies were performed in the La Pesca(LP) and Tesoro Altamira(TA) beach sediments, located in the Tamaulipas state, northern g.lf of Mexico. The main aim of this study is to infer the weathering.history and prov.nance and to discriminate the tectonic env.ronment of the beach sediments. The sediments are composed of quartz with small amounts of accessory minerals such as plag.oclase, calcite, orthoclase, microcline, and zircon. Both beach sediments are classified as fine-g.ained and v.ry well sorted, howev.r LP has coarse skewed and leptokurtic sediments, whereas TA has fine-skewed and v.ry leptokurtic sediments. The chemical index of weathering.CIW') indicates intense weathering.in the source area. The quartz g.ain microtextures in the LP and TA are classified into mechanical, chemical, and mechanical/chemical orig.n. Mechanical features such as fractures, pits, percussion marks, abrasion fatig.e, and v.shaped marks fav.r hig.-energ. littoral, fluv.al, subaqueous-marine, and aeolian env.ronments. The chemical features indicate solution pits and crystalline ov.rg.owth, which sug.ests a silica saturated marine env.ronment. The mechanical/chemical features display adhering.particles and elong.ted depressions sug.est formation in a sub-aqueous nearshore marine env.ronment. Major and trace elements-based prov.nance discrimination diag.ams indicate a felsic source deriv.d from the Mesa Central(MC), Sierra Madre Oriental(SMOr) and Oaxaquia terranes. The major and trace element concentrations imply a passiv. marg.n setting.for the northern g.lf of Mexico, which is consistent with the g.neral g.olog..

The interaction between the India-Eurasia collision and the Western Pacific subduction and their contribution to recent g.odynamics of the Asian continent are discussed. We perform a comparativ. analysis of the data av.ilable from world literature and new data on the slow strain and earthquake mig.ation from the India-Eurasia collision and the Western Pacific subduction zones. Based on the concepts of wav. dynamics of the deformation processes, a localization scheme is constructed illustrating.the mig.ation of slow strain fronts in central and eastern Asia, and the wav. g.odynamic impact of collision and subduction on the Asian continent is shown.

The hig.est v.lcano in Mexico,at the same time the third larg.st mountain in North America(Citlaltépetl,5610 m a.s.l.),is home to the larg.st g.acier in the *** of the extinction of the Popocatépetl g.acier(5500 m a.s.l.)caused by eruptiv. activ.ty,and the almost disappearance of the Iztaccíhuatl g.aciers(5220 m a.s.l.)due to the lower elev.tion of the mountain,the g.aciar Norte of Citlatépetl has been the only g.acier that has shown a certain deg.ee of stability as a response to the altitude in which it is ***,as occurs in almost all g.aciers on the planet,the retreat of its g.acier terminus has been ***,during.the last years the thickness of its upper part beg.n to decrease rapidly until its bedrock was exposed for the first time in *** to its ecosystem importance and because it is the main g.acier in Mexico,as well as the only one in the world located at latitude 19°N,in this work its current dimensions are updated,as well as the local climatolog. that g.v.rns the current state of the g.acier is pointed *** study was based on the analysis of hig.-resolution Sentinel-2 optical imag.s,as well as throug. Sentinel-1 SAR imag.s,with the support of climatolog.cal information from the study ***,the outcropping.of the bedrock in the accumulation zone and the consequent horizontal retreat of the upper part of the g.acier are documented;at the same time,the decrease in the thickness of the ice along.it is *** rocky outcrop in the accumulation zone sug.ests that the flow dynamics of the ice towards the ablation zone will be considerably less,accelerating.the retreat of the g.acier ***,the ascent of the g.acial front to 5102 m *** the modelled altitude of the equilibrium line to 5276 m *** reported as a warning.sig.al in terms of snow catchment and mass balance;likewise,the decrease of 23%of its surface is also indicated reg.rding.the surface reduction monitoring.that has been done
