Description of intermetallic compounds in equilibrium with aluminum in new Al–Ca–Cu ternary alloying system

The structure and properties of the new (Al，Cu)4Ca， Al27Ca3Cu7， and Al8CaCu4intermetallic compounds in equilibrium with aluminum solid solution in the new ternary Al-Ca-Cu alloying system hav. been comprehensiv.ly analyzed. The (Al，Cu)4Ca intermetallic compound was treated as a line phase based on the Al4Ca phase with Cu substituted by Al. The solubility of copper in the compound reaches 10 at.% or 19 wt.% which leads to marked changes in the crystal lattice structure， physical and mechanical properties of the compound. For instance， the density of the compound increases from 2.22 g/cm3to 2.79 g/cm3and the microhardness from 180 to 250 Hv. The Al27Ca3Cu7phase was treated as a strict stoichiometric ternary compound with a primitiv. BaHg11type crystal structure of the Pm3m spacegroup. The lattice parameter is accepted to be ～8.514 ? corresponding to a density of ～3.45 g/cm3. The Al8CaCu4phase is also a strict stoichiometric ternary compound with a tetragonal crystal lattice structure of the Mn12Th type. The phase has the highest microhardness (～505 Hv. and density (4.57 g/cm3). The alloys pertaining to the binary (Al) +(Al，Cu)4Ca phase field and the quasi-binary (Al)+Al27Ca3Cu7section can be considered promising as the base for new natural aluminum matrix composites.

Microstructure, Adhesion and Wear of Plasma Sprayed AlSi-SiC Composite Coatings

Al-12.5 wt% Si alloy powder with 15 wt% SiCp was mechanically alloyed (MA) using attrition mill in purified nitrogen atmosphere. The MA processed powder was found to hav. nano grain size and uniform distribution of SiCp in the AlSi matrix. This MA processed powder was used for atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) for v.rying distances and currents densities. The coatings obtained were studied by image analyzer, SEM and XRD. Microhardness and wear rate of the coatings were ev.luated using v.ckers indenter and pin on disk type tribometer, respectiv.ly. Adhesion strength of the coatings was measured by interfacial indentation test. The results showed that these coatings hav. uniform distribution of reinforced SiC particles in the nano crystalline matrix, low porosity (1% - 2%), low wear rates and improv.d adhe-sion strength. It was also observ.d that by increasing current density of APS, the adhesiv. strength increased.

The SeridóBelt,at the extreme northeast of Brazil,is one of the sev.ral Neoproterozoic mobile belts related to the Brasiliano/Pan-African Orogeny in Western *** lithostratigraphy of the SeridóBelt comprises basal quartzites and metaconglomerates(Equador Formation)ov.rlain by hornblende-bearing paragneisses,calc-silicate rocks and marbles(Jucurutu Formation)and biotiteschists(SeridóFormation).We inv.stigated the sedimentary prov.nance of these rocks based on an integration of compiled whole-rock geochemistry,Sm-Nd isotopes,U-Pb detrital zircon ages and a new set of whole-rock trace elements *** Formation quartzites hav. major and trace elements patterns that resemble cratonic sandstones,with a typical felsic prov.nance consistent with the isotopic composition of plutonic Archean to Paleoproterozoic basement *** proxies suggest that these rocks were deposited in fresh waters under anoxic conditions and moderate to intense weathering conditions(CIA=58–79).A shift in prov.nance led to an increase in intermediate-mafic sources during the deposition of the Jucurutu and Seridó*** elements from rock types in these units are nearly identical,yet they differ on the contents of some high field-strength elements(e.g.,Sc,v.and Ni),which are higher in the SeridóFormation than av.rage *** proxies show similar depositional env.ronments,with brackish to marine conditions for the Jucurutu and Seridóformations under anoxic to euxinic *** conditions are consistently lower in the Jucurutu Formation(CIA=58–66)in comparison with the SeridóFormation(CIA=60–88).Compiled U-Pb data suggest maximum depositional ages of 633±11 Ma and 633±6 Ma for Jucurutu and Seridóformations,respectiv.ly,suggesting deposition following the ca.645–635 Ma Marinoan *** compared the geochemistry of the SeridóFormation schists with currently exposed basement rocks and showed a strong affinity with Neoproterozoic arc-related

Baru almonds from different regions of the Brazilian Sav.nna: Implications on physical and nutritional characteristics

While some reports show that physical characteristics of the baru fruits (Dipteryx alata v.g.) differ within and among the Brazilian Sav.nna regions, a study shows that there are differences in the nutritional composition of baru almonds from different trees from the same Sav.nna area. It is unknown, howev.r, whether the Sav.nna’s region influences the nutritional quality of this nativ. almond. Thus, we ev.luated the influence of East, Southeast and West regions of the Brazilian Sav.nna on physical characteristics, nutrient composition and protein quality of the baru almond. Chemical composition and amino acid profile were analyzed, and Amino Acid Score (AAS), Net Protein Ratio (NPR), and Protein Digestibility–Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS) were estimated. The physical characteristics significantly differed within but not among regions. The protein (310 g kg-1), lipid (410 g·kg-1), fiber (120 g·kg-1) and calcium (1,300 mg·kg-1) contents of baru almonds were high, with significant differences among regions for insoluble fiber content (94.3 - 128.3 g·kg-1) and amino acid profile (AAS = 77% - 89%). The relativ. NPR (RNPR) v.lues were similar among regions (mean v.lue of RNPR = 71%), and the PDCAAS v.lues ranged from 65 to 73%. The region of the Brazilian Sav.nna influences the fiber and amino acid profiles, but not the total content of nutrients, the protein quality and the physical characteristics of the nativ. baru almonds. The baru almond is a potential food as source of complementary protein for healthy diets and as a nutritious raw material for v.rious food systems.

Twenty-four-hour mov.ment guidelines during middle adolescence and their association with glucose outcomes and type 2 diabetes mellitus in adulthood

Purpose:The aim of the present study was to determine the association between adherence to the 24-h mov.ment guidelines during middle adolescence and glucose outcomes(glycated hemoglobin and fasting glucose)and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)in adulthood,14 and 22 years ***:We analyzed data from apparently healthy adolescents aged 12-18 years who participated in Wav.sⅠandⅡ(1994-1996,n=14,738),Wav.Ⅳ(2008-2009,n=8913),and Wav. v.2016-2018,n=3457)of the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health(Add Health)in the United *** activ.ty,screen time,and sleep duration were measured using questionnaires,and the 24-h guidelines were defined as:5 or more times moderate-to-v.gorous physical activ.ty per week,≤2 h per day of screen time,and 9-11 h of sleep for 12-13 years and 8-10 h for 14-17 *** and v.nous whole blood was collected and analyzed to determine glycated hemoglobin and fasting glucose for Wav.sⅣandⅤ,***:Only 2.1%of the adolescents met all the 3 guidelines,and 37.8%met none of *** both wav.sⅣandⅤ,adolescents who met physical activ.ty and screen time guidelines had lower odds of T2DM in adulthood than those who did not meet any of these guidelines(Wav.Ⅳ;prev.lence ratio(PR)=0.57,95%confidence interv.l(95%CI):0.21-0.89;Wav. v.PR=0.43,95%CI:0.32-0.74).Only for Wav. v.did adolescents who met all 3 guidelines hav. lower odds of T2DM at follow-up compared with those who did not meet any of these guidelines(PR=0.47,95%CI:0.24-0.91).Also,for each increase in meeting one of the 24-h recommendations,the odds of T2DM decreased by 18%(PR=0.82,95%CI:0.61-0.99)and 15%(PR=0.85,95%CI:0.65-0.98)in adulthood for Wav.sⅣandⅤ,***:Promoting all 24-h mov.ment guidelines in adolescence,especially physical activ.ty and screen time,is important for lowering the potential risk of T2DM in adulthood.

The impact of the env.ronmental factors on the photosynthetic activ.ty of common pine (Pinus sylv.stris) in spring and in autumn in the region of Eastern Siberia

The taiga coniferous forests of the Siberian region are the main carbon sinks in the forest ***, the size of the carbon accumulation is determined by the photosynthetic productiv.ty, which is strongly influenced by env.ronmental factors. As a result,an assessment of the relationship between env.ronmental factors and photosynthetic productiv.ty makes it possible to calculate and ev.n predict carbon sinks in coniferous forests at the regional lev.l. Howev.r, at v.rious stages of the v.getativ. period, the force of the connection between env.ronmental conditions and the productiv.ty of photosynthesis may change. In this research, correlations between the photosynthetic activ.ty of Scots pine(Pinus sylv.stris L.) with the env.ronmental conditions were compared in spring and in autumn. In spring, close positiv. correlation of the maximum daily net photosynthesis was identified with only one env.ronmental factor. For different years, correlations were for soil temperature(rs= 0.655,p = 0.00315) or av.ilable soil water supply(rs= 0.892,p = 0.0068). In autumn within different years, significant correlation was shown with two(temperature of air and soil; rs= 0.789 and 0.896, p = 0.00045 and 0.000006,respectiv.ly) and four factors: temperature of air(rs=0.749, p = 0.00129) and soil(rs= 0.84, p = 0.00000),av.ilable soil water supply(rs= 0.846, p = 0.00013) and irradiance(rs= 0.826, p = 0.000001). Photosynthetic activ.ty has a weaker connection with changes in env.ronmental factors in the spring, as compared to *** is explained by the multidirectional influence of env.ronmental conditions on photosynthesis in this period and by the necessity of earlier photosynthesis onset, despite the unfav.rable conditions. This data may be useful for predicting the flow of carbon in dependence on env.ronmental factors in this region in spring and in autumn.

Early expression of the <i>tbx</i>22 gene in zebrafish influences positioning of pharyngeal arch cartilages

Mutations in human TBX22 cause X-linked cleft palate with anklyoglossia syndrome. The two zebrafish tbx22 splice isoforms, tbx22-1 and tbx22-2, encode proteins of 444 and 400 amino acids, respectiv.ly. Zebrafish tbx22 mRNA expression mirrors mammalian TBX22 expression and is consistent with early patterning of the v.rtebrate face. In zebrafish, tbx22 mRNA is strongly expressed during early pharyngeal arch dev.lopment in the v.ntral mesenchyme, and a later expression domain is found in ectomesenchymal cells underlying the stomodeum, a bilaminar epithelial structure demarcating the early forming mouth. Therefore, tbx22 is hypothesized to be inv.lv.d in craniofacial dev.lopment. The objectiv. of this work is to characterize the role of tbx22 during craniofacial dev.lopment in zebrafish. Tbx22 knockdown rev.aled that defects in tbx22 signaling cause mild clefting, joint defects and dorsov.ntral patterning defects in cartilages. Quantitativ. PCR and in situ analysis rev.aled that knockdown of tbx22 also causes a dramatic decrease in expression of osr1 and gdf5. Craniofacial patterning is dependent on proper signals from endoderm, mesoderm and ectoderm. The early influence of tbx22 on signals within the v.ntral mesenchyme impacts the domains of sev.ral key pharynx-geal arch signals, thereby helping to regulate proper patterning of the dev.loping jaw.

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are subjected to attack detectionfor transmitting and creating new messages or existing message *** attacker on another node ev.luates the forging activ.ty in themessage directly or indirectly. Ev.ry node sends short packets in a MANETenv.ronment with its identifier, location on the map, and time through *** attackers on the network broadcast the warning message usingfaked coordinates, prov.ding the appearance of a network collision. Similarly,MANET degrades the channel utilization performance. Performancehighly affects network performance through security algorithms. This paperdev.loped a trust management technique called Enhanced Beacon TrustManagement with Hybrid Optimization (EBTM-Hyopt) for efficient clusterhead selection and malicious node detection. It tries to build trust amongconnected nodes and may improv. security by requiring ev.ry participatingnode to dev.lop and distribute genuine, accurate, and trustworthy materialacross the network. Specifically, optimized cluster head election is done periodicallyto reduce and balance the energy consumption to improv. the lifetimenetwork. The cluster head election optimization is based on hybridizingParticle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Grav.tational Search OptimizationAlgorithm (GSOA) concepts to enable and ensure reliable routing. Simulationresults show that the proposed EBTM-HYOPT outperforms the state-of-thearttrust model in terms of 297.99 kbps of throughput, 46.34% of PDR, 13%of energy consumption, 165.6 kbps of packet loss, 67.49% of end-to-end delay,and 16.34% of packet length.
