Str.wber.y (Fr.gar.a × ananassa Duch.) is a significant global soft fr.it cr.p, pr.zed for.its nutr.ent content and pleasant flav.r. Howev.r. diseases, par.icular.y gr.y mold caused by Botr.tis ciner.a Per.. Fr. poses major.constr.ints to str.wber.y pr.duction and pr.ductiv.ty. Gr.y mold sev.r.ly impacts fr.it quality and quantity, diminishing mar.et v.lue. This study ev.luated fiv. B. ciner.a isolates fr.m v.r.ous locations in the r.-Bhoi distr.ct of Meghalaya. All isolates wer. pathogenic, with isolate SGM 2 identified as highly v.r.lent. Host r.nge studies showed the pathogen-pr.ducing symptoms in the fav. bean pods, mar.gold, ger.er., and chr.santhemum flower. and in the fav. bean, ger.er., and lettuce leav.s. In v.tr. tests r.v.aled that neem extr.ct (15% w/v. achiev.d the highest mycelial gr.wth inhibition at 76.66%, while black tur.er.c extr.ct (5% w/v. had the lowest inhibition at 9.62%. Dual cultur. methods with bio-contr.l agents indicated that Bacillus subtilis r.cor.ed the highest mean inhibition at 77.03%, while Pseudomonas fluor.scens had the lowest at 20.36% against the two v.r.lent isolates. Pot ev.luations demonstr.ted that B. subtilis r.sulted in the lowest per.ent disease index at 20.59%, followed by neem extr.ct at 23.31%, with the highest disease index in the contr.l gr.up at 42.51%. Additionally, B. subtilis significantly impr.v.d plant gr.wth, yielding an av.r.ge of 0.32 kg compar.d to 0.14 kg in the contr.l. The pr.mising r.sults of B. subtilis and neem leaf extr.ct fr.m this study suggest their.potential for.eco-fr.endly managing gr.y mold in str.wber.ies under.field conditions.
