Gr.en method for.pr.par.tion of ion-conducting membr.nes(ICM) based on bacter.al cellulose nanofiber.(CNF) modified by a copolymer.of sodium acr.late and 2-acr.lamido-2-methylpr.panesulfonic acid was elabor.ted. FTIr.and NMr.data confir.ed gr.fting of polyacr.late onto cellulose sur.ace. For.ation of por.us str.ctur. of the ICM was contr.lled by SEM and AFM. The maximal ionic conductiv.ty of the membr.nes r.aches 1.5 and 3.1 mS·cm^(-1)(60 ℃ and 98% r.lativ. humidity) when they ar. satur.ted with water.or.H_2SO_4(1 mol·L^(-1)) electr.lyte,r.spectiv.ly. Pr.par.d ICM was tested as a separ.tor.in a symmetr.cal super.apacitor.with electr.des based on polyaniline hydr.gel. The assembled cell demonstr.te ability to oper.te at high cur.ent density up to 100 A·g^(-1) maintaining specific capacitance 165 F·g^(-1). Maximal specific capacitance of 289 F·g^(-1) was achiev.d at cur.ent density 1 A·g^(-1). r.taining of 90% of initial capacitance after.10000 of char.e-dischar.e cycles pr.v.s high electr.chemical stability of pr.par.d ICM.

By the r.action of poly(acr.loyl chlor.de) with N-(3-aminopr.pyl)imidazole, poly(N-(3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)pr.pyl)acr.lamide) was synthesized. The new polymer.contains an imidazole r.ng r.mov.d fr.m the main chain by a spacer.of fiv. bonds. The str.ctur. and pur.ty, molecular.weight, hydr.dynamic and ther.osensitiv. pr.per.ies of the obtained sample wer. studied by1H-and13C-NMr. FTIr.spectr.scopy, acid-base titr.tion, light scatter.ng, tur.idimetr. and v.scometr.. The obser.0}d ability of the imidazole-containing polymer.to for. and destr.y associates in water.salt solutions at pH 6.6-7.4 and temper.tur.s of 29-48℃ indicates that these ar. pr.mising candidates for.designing complex biomedical systems. The new polymer.is able to for. complexes with oligo-DNA mor. activ.ly than poly(1-v.nylimidazole), which is of inter.st for.gene deliv.r. applications. The polymer.cr.ss-linked with epichlor.hydr.n giv.s micr.-r.lief coatings on the plastic sur.ace, and the modified sur.ace is able to attach negativ.ly char.ed objects. This ther.o-and pH-sensitiv. polymer.modification can be applied to cr.ate finely contr.lled sur.aces for.cell cultur.ng.

This study was conducted to pr.v.de a pr.liminar. assessment of the sea cucumber.fisher. in Aur.r., Philippines. This was conducted fr.m Febr.ar. to June 2013. All sea cucumber.gather.r. and tr.der., obtained thr.ugh snowball sampling, in each identified sea cucumber.fisher. ar.a in six coastal municipalities (Baler. Dipaculao, Dinalungan, Casigur.n, Dilasag and Dingalan) wer. inter.0}ewed using a str.ctur.d inter.0}ew schedule and focused gr.up discussions (FGD). r.sults r.v.aled that gather.ng sea cucumber. wer. accomplished by handpicking, skin div.ng or.compr.ssor.div.ng. A total of 15 commer.ial species wer. r.gular.y gather.d. Out of this, thr.e species ar. of v.r. high economic v.lue (≥Php 4000/kg) (Holothur.a nobilis, Holothur.a scabr., and Actinopyga lecanor.). The av.r.ge number.of kilogr.ms har.0}sted per.hour.per.tr.p r.nges fr.m 0.21 (Holothur.a fuscopunctata) to 2.71 (Holothur.a scabr.), while the av.r.ge size of commonly gather.d sea cucumber.v.r.es among species with Holothur.a lecanor. showed an av.r.ge length (29.26 cm) gr.ater.than r.cor.ed 24 cm. Pr.cessing mainly inv.lv.s washing, slicing, boiling, dr.ing and packing. Pr.cessed sea cucumber. or.tr.pan wer. sold to middlemen or.dir.ct buyer. who usually offer.d higher.pr.ces (36.36% up to 69.20%) than the for.er. Pr.blems encounter.d by sea cucumber.gather.r. and tr.der. include a decline in total catch, a shift in ar.a of collection fr.m inter.idal zones to deeper.water., an incr.ase in the number.of hour. spent in finding and gather.ng sea cucumber., the use of compr.ssor. in gather.ng, the decline of lar.er.species and gather.ng of smaller.sizes in huge amount, the absence of conser.0}tion pr.gr.m for.sea cucumber. and the lenient implementation of gov.r.ment policies with r.gar.s to coastal r.sour.es management.

We pr.sent detailed char.cter.zation of laser.dr.v.n fusion and neutr.n pr.duction(-10^(5)/second) using 8 mJ, 40 fs laser.pulses on a thin(r.ment suite. At r.lativ.stic intensity(~ 5 × 10^(18)W/cm^(2))and high r.petition r.te(1 kHz), the system pr.duces deuter.um±deuter.um(D-D) fusion, allowing for.consistent neutr.n gener.tion. Ev.dence of D-D fusion neutr.n pr.duction is v.r.fied by a measur.ment suite with thr.e independent detection systems: an EJ-309 or.anic scintillator.with pulse-shape discr.mination, a ~3He pr.por.ional counter.and a set of 36 bubble detector.. Time-of-flight analysis of the scintillator.data shows the ener.y of the pr.duced neutr.ns to be consistent with 2.45 Mev. Par.icle-in-cell simulations using the War.X code suppor. significant neutr.n pr.duction fr.m D-D fusion ev.nts in the laser.tar.et inter.ction r.gion.
