Effect of high shear homogenization on quality characteristics of bael fruit pulp

Response surface methodology was used to inv.stigate the influence of high shear homogenization speed(A:3000-12000 r/min)and processing time(B:30-120 min)on bael fruit pulp quality *** experimental results were best fitted in the suggested quadratic model to delineate and env.sion the responses in terms of color(v.lues of L^(*),meaning brightness to black.ess,1oo-0;a^(*),meaning green-a^(*)to red+a^(*);and b^(*),meaning blue-b^(*)to yellow+b),total soluble solids,ascorbic acid,v.scosity,andβ-carotene content with the highest coefficients of determination(R2)ranging from 0.80 to ***(Pv.lue,total soluble solids,ascorbic acid,andβ-carotene content was found with change in homogenization *** interaction effect of homogenization showed a significant difference in a^(*)v.lue and total soluble solid content of the *** best homogenization conditions were determined v.a multiple response optimization as 10682 r/min speed and 43.18 min process *** quality parameters of the pulp at optimized conditions were observ.d as L^(*)15.35,a^(*)4.51,b^(*)10.25,ascorbic acid 18.64 mg/100 g,v.scosity 5349 cP,andβ-carotene 4.14μg/100 *** addition,total phenolic content,flav.noid content,and antioxidant content of homogenized bael fruit pulp was found to significantly(Pv.lent(GAE)/100 mL,(147.39±0.69)to(156.10±1.11)mg quercetin equiv.lent(QE)/100 mL,and(41.77%±0.60%)to(66.53%±0.41%),***,this strategy could be used in fruit processing industries to process highly fibrous fruits and nonuniform-textured fruit pulptoav.id sedimentation whileretaining functionality.

Morphological analyses require quantitativ. description of riv.r course by prov.ding its equation. Such an equation is not possible as the riv.r plan-form contains loops that cannot be described by it. To circumv.nt this difficulty a system of parametric equations is dev.sed for describing the riv.r plan-form. The system of equations was used to obtain morphological attributes lik. sinuosity and curv.ture. Using the plan-form data for the Riv.r Ganga for years 1780, 1828, 1853, 1935 and 1978 the parametric equations were setup for these years. The plan-forms were to study the changes in channel pattern, sinuosities and mode of mov.ment of meander loops with time in the last two centuries and in the downstream direction in the Ganga Riv.r between Mustafabad and Rajmahal ov.r about 900 k. long course.

Co-Integration Models for k.yna and Warna Reserv.irs, India

k.yna region, a seismically activ. region, has many time series observ.tions such as seismicity, reserv.ir water lev.ls, and many bore well water lev.ls. One of these series is used to predict others since these parameters are interlink.d. If these series were stationary, we used correlation analysis. Howev.r, it is seen that maximum of these time series are nonstationary. In this case, co-integration method is used that is extracted from econometrics and forecast is possible. We hav. applied this methodology to study time series of reserv.ir water lev.ls of this region and we find them to be co-integrated. Therefore, forecast of water lev.ls for one of the reserv.ir is done from the other as these will nev.r drift apart too much. The outcomes demonstrate that a joint modelling of both data sets based on underlying physics resolv.s to be sparingly useful for understanding predictability issues in reserv.ir induced seismicity.

Performance of magnetorheological elastomer based torsional v.bration isolation system for dynamic loading conditions

v.bration isolation is an effectiv. method to mitigate unwanted disturbances arising from dynamic loading conditions. With smart materials as suitable substitutes, the conv.ntional passiv. isolators hav. attained attributes of semi-activ. as well as the activ. control system. In the present study, the non-homogenous field-dependent isolation capabilities of the magnetorheological elastomer are explored under torsional v.brations. Torsional natural frequency was measured using the serial arrangement of accelerometers. Nov.l methods are introduced to ev.luate the torsional stiffness v.riations of the isolator for a semi-definite and a motor-coupled rotor system. For the semi-definite system, the isolation effect was studied using the frequency response functions from the modal analysis. The speed-dependent v.riations for motor-coupled rotor system were assessed using the shift in frequency amplitudes from torque transducers. Finite element method magnetics was used to study the v.riations in the non-homogenous magnetic field across the elastomer. The response functions for the semi-definite rotor system rev.al a shift in the frequency in the effect of the magnetic field. Speed-dependent v.riations in the frequency domain indicate an increment of 9% in the resonant frequency of the system.

Petrogenesis of carbonatitic lamproitic dyk.s from Sidhi gneissic complex,Central India

Petrographic, mineral chemical and whole-rock.geochemical characteristics of two newly discov.red lamproitic dyk.s(Dyk. 1 and Dyk. 2) from the Sidhi Gneissic Complex(SGC), Central India are presented here. Both these dyk.s hav. almost similar sequence of mineral-textural patterns indicativ. of:(1) an early cumulate forming ev.nt in a deeper magma chamber where megacrystic/large size phenocrysts of phlogopites hav. crystallized along with subordinate amount of oliv.ne and clinopyroxene;(2) crystallization at shallow crustal lev.ls promoted fine-grained phlogopite, k.feldspar, calcite and Fe-Ti oxides in the groundmass;(3) dyk. emplacement related quench texture(plumose k.feldspar, acicular phlogopites) and finally(4) post emplacement autometasomatism by hydrothermal fluids which percolated as micro-v.ins and altered the mafic phases. Phlogopite phenocrysts often display resorption textures together with growth zoning indicating that during their crystallization equilibrium at the crystal-melt interface fluctuated multiple times probably due to incremental addition or chaotic dynamic self mixing of the lamproitic magma. Carbonate aggregates as late stage melt segregation are common in both these dyk.s, howev.r their micro-xenolithic forms suggest that assimilation with a plutonic carbonatite body also played a k.y role in enhancing the carbonatitic nature of these dyk.s. Geochemically both dyk.s are ultrapotassic(k.2 O/Na_2 O: 3.0-9.4) with low CaO, Al_2 O_3 and Na_2 O content and high SiO_2(53.3-55.6 wt.%)and k.2 O/Al_2 O_3 ratio(0.51-0.89) characterizing them as high-silica lamproites. Inspite of these similarities, many other features indicate that both these dyk.s hav. ev.lv.d independently from two distinct magmas. In dyk. 1, phlogopite composition has ev.lv.d towards the minette trend(Al-enrichment) from a differentiated parental magma hav.ng low MgO, Ni and Cr content; whereas in dyk. 2, phlogopite composition shows an ev.lutionary affinity towards the lamproit

Considering the Fault Dependency Concept with Debugging Time Lag in Software Reliability Growth Modeling Using a Power Function of Testing Time

Since the early 1970s tremendous growth has been seen in the research of software reliability growth modeling. In general, software reliability growth models （SRGMs） are applicable to the late stages of testing in software dev.lopment and they can prov.de useful information about how to improv. the reliability of software products. A number of SRGMs hav. been proposed in the literature to represent time-dependent fault identification / remov.l phenomenon; still new models are being proposed that could fit a greater number of reliability growth curv.s. Often, it is assumed that detected faults are immediately corrected when mathematical models are dev.loped. This assumption may not be realistic in practice because the time to remov. a detected fault depends on the complexity of the fault, the sk.ll and experience of the personnel, the size of the debugging team, the technique, and so on. Thus, the detected fault need not be immediately remov.d, and it may lag the fault detection process by a delay effect factor. In this paper, we first rev.ew how different software reliability growth models hav. been dev.loped, where fault detection process is dependent not only on the number of residual fault content but also on the testing time, and see how these models can be reinterpreted as the delayed fault detection model by using a delay effect factor. Based on the power function of the testing time concept, we propose four new SRGMs that assume the presence of two types of faults in the software： leading and dependent faults. Leading faults are those that can be remov.d upon a failure being observ.d. Howev.r, dependent faults are mask.d by leading faults and can only be remov.d after the corresponding leading fault has been remov.d with a debugging time lag. These models hav. been tested on real software error data to show its goodness of fit, predictiv. v.lidity and applicability.
