The aim of present study was to use QbD approaches to ev.luate the effect of independent product v.riables and their interaction on particle size of sodium fluoride and then obtain the optimized experimental condition for predefined particle size of sodium fluoride. The sodium fluoride is mainly used in dental preparation for deliv.ring the fluoride ion to the tooth enamel for that nano-particle size is required. Nowadays the milling process is used to reduce the particle size. But that process has some limitations due to crystalline nature of sodium fluoride;for ov.rcoming those limitations, lyophilization method is used. A 43 lev.l full factorial design was used to study the significant influence of process and product v.riables i.e. 1) Concentration of sodium fluoride, 2) Concentration of Pv., 3) Sample v.lume, 4) Drying surface, on particle size of sodium fluoride. The experimental design result shows that independent product v.riables significantly modify the structure and improv. particle size reduction of sodium fluoride.

Back.round:k.asanur Forest disease(k.D)is a febrile illness characterized by hemorrhages,and is reported endemic in the Shimoga district in k.rnatak. state,*** is caused by the k.D v.rus(k.Dv.of the family Flav.v.ridae,and is transmitted to monk.ys and humans by Haemaphysalis ***:We inv.stigated a new focus of k.D among tribals in a reserv. forest in k.rala state,India.A suspected case was defined as a person presenting with acute fev.r,headache,or *** sera were collected and tested for k.Dv.RNA by real-time RT-PCR,RT-nPCR assay,and anti-k.Dv.IgM and IgG by *** index case was a tribal woman with febrile illness,sev.re myalgia,gum bleeding,and ***-k.Dv.IgM antibody was detected in acute and conv.lescent sera of the index case along with IgG in the second *** of her family members reported *** v.rbal autopsy,two more fatal cases were identified as probable primary *** serum from a case in the second cluster was detected positiv. for k.Dv.RNA by real time RT-PCR(Ct=32)and *** of E gene showed highest similarity of 98.0%with the k.Dv.W-377 isolate nucleotide and 100%identity with amino ***-k.Dv.IgM was detected in the serum of one family member of the index case,as well as in one out of 17 other ***:We confirmed a new focus of k.Dv.activ.ty among tribals in a reserv. forest in the Malappuram district of k.rala,India.

AIM: Intestinal ischemia (Ii) is an abdominal emergency due to block.de of the superior mesenteric artery resulting in 60-100% mortality if diagnosed late. Changes in sev.ral biochemical parameters such as D (-)-lactate, Creatinine k.nase isoenzymes and lactate dehydrogenase suggested for early diagnosis, lack.specificity and sensitiv.ty. Therefore a biochemical parameter with greater sensitiv.ty needs to be identified. METHODS: Wistar male rats were randomly assigned into two groups; control sham operated (n = 24) and ischemic test (n = 24) group. Superior mesenteric arterial occlusion was performed in the ischemic test group for 1 h. Alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) was estimated in blood from portal v.in, right v.ntricle of heart, dorsal aorta (DA) and inferior v.na cav. (Iv.). The Serum glutamic acid pyruv.te transaminase (SGPT) was also estimated in blood from portal v.in and right v.ntricle of heart. RESULTS: A significant increase (Pv.ls of ADH in both portal blood as well as heart blood of the test group (232.72±99.45 EU and 250.85±95.14 EU, respectiv.ly) as compared to the control group (46.39±21.69 EU and 65.389±30.55 EU, respectiv.ly) were observ.d. Similarly, increased lev.ls of ADH were observ.d in blood samples withdrawn from DA and Iv. in test animals (319.52±80.14 EU and 363.90±120.68 EU, respectiv.ly) as compared to the control group (67.68±63.22 EU and 72.50±58.45 EU, respectiv.ly). Howev.r, in test animals there was significant increase in SGPT in portal blood (P= 0.054) without much increase in heart blood. CONCLUSION: Significant increase in the lev.ls of ADH in portal and heart blood within 1 h of SMA occlusion without increase in SGPT in heart blood, suggests that the origin of ADH is from ischemic intestine and not from liv.r. Similarly, raised ADH lev.ls were found in DA and Iv. as well. Iv. blood does represent peripheral blood sample. A raised lev.l of ADH in test animals confirms it to be a potential mark.r in the early diagno
