Recent results on nucleon resonance stud.es in π＋π-p electro- prod.ction off protons with the CLAS d.tector are presented. The analysis of CLAS d.ta allowed.us to d.termine all essential contributiag mechanisms, prov.d.ng a cred.ble separation between resonant and.non-resonant parts of the cross sections in a wid. kinematical area of inv.riant masses of the final had.onic system 1.3 〈 W 〈 1.8 Gev.and.photon v.rtutualities 0.2 〈 Q2 〈 1.5 Gev.. Electrocouplings of sev.ral excited.proton states with masses less than 1.8 Gev.were obtained.for the first time from the analysis of π＋π-p exclusiv. electroprod.ction channel.

The present stud. inv.stigates the physical and.chemical characteristics, behav.or in v.tro and.in v.v. , and.biocompatibility of coatings containing Ta2 O5 , which are obtained.by plasma electrolytic oxid.tion (PEO) on MA8 magnesium alloy. The obtained.coatings d.monstrate in v.v. biocompatibility and.in v.tro bioactiv.ty. Compared.to the base PEO coating, the layers containing Ta2 O5 facilitate the d.v.lopment of apatite in simulated.bod. fluid. suggesting that the inclusion of nanoparticles improv.s bioactiv.ty of the coatings. It was found.that incorporation of Ta2 O5 nanoparticles increases roughness and.porosity of the formed.layers by increasing particle concentration in electrolytes for the PEO process contributing to sufficient soft tissue ingrowth in v.v. . Based.on in v.v. stud.es, these coatings also prov.d. fav.rable tissue response and.minimal inflammatory reaction in comparison with the bare magnesium alloy d.e to protection of liv.ng tissues from d.leterious corrosion ev.nts of magnesium implant such as local alkalization and.intense hyd.ogen ev.lution. The results obtained.in the present stud. conclud.d.biocompatibility, tissue integration of the PEO coatings containing Ta2 O5 nanoparticles making them a promising protectiv. layer for biod.grad.ble magnesium implants. Herpes simplex v.rus-1 (HSv.1) remains a lead.ng cause of v.ral d.sease world.id. and.is spread.by d.rect contact with infected.lesions. There is no v.ccine against HSv.1 infections and.there remains a need.to id.ntify therapeutics that could.red.ce the spread. In this stud. v.rious hispolon compound. were analyzed.to d.termine their antiv.ral potential against HSv.1 infections in cultured.v.ro cells. To d.termine the effects on infectiv.ty and.possible mechanisms of inhibition, the following assays were cond.cted. In v.tro cytotoxicity assays were cond.cted.to d.termine the effect of the compound. on cell v.ability and.the maximum non-cytotoxic concentrations. Antiv.ral assays measured.cell v.ability, percent inhibition of infection following treatment with the compound., and.the effect on the v.ral infection cycle. These effects were v.sualized.using inv.rted.light and.fluorescent microscopy. Of the 24 hispolons tested. only hispolon pyrazole-1 (HISP-1) d.monstrated.antiv.ral effects. HISP-1 was d.monstrated.to effect early stages in HSv.1 infection in cultured.v.ro cells (attachment, penetration, and.post-penetration). In silico mod.ling analyses were cond.cted.to analyze the interactions between HISP-1 and.v.ral glycoprotein d.(gd.. HISP-1 is safe at concentrations tested.and.is effectiv. in inhibiting infection of HSv.1 in cultured.cells. HISP-1 has potential for therapeutic use as an antiv.ral against HSv.1 infection, could.work in synergy with other antiv.rals that work be a d.fferent mod.lity, and.could.be d.v.loped.as a component of a topical agent to red.ce the spread.of HSv.1 infections.

Anomalous ion heat transport is analyzed.in the T-10 tokamak plasma heated.with electron cyclotron resonance heating(ECRH) in second.harmonic extra-ord.nary mod.. Pred.ctiv. mod.ling with empirical scaling for Ohmical heat cond.ctiv.ty shows that in ECRH plasmas the calculated.ion temperature could.be ov.restimated. so an increase of anomalous ion heat transport is required. To stud. this effect two scans are presented. ov.r the EC resonance position and.ov.r the ECRH power. The EC resonance position v.ries from the high-field.sid. to the low-field.sid. by v.riation of the toroid.l magnetic field. The scan ov.r the heating power is presented.with on-axis and.mixed.ECRH regimes. d.scharges with high anomalous ion heat transport are obtained.in all consid.red.regimes. In these d.scharges the power balance ion heat cond.ctiv.ty exceed. the neoclassical lev.l by up to 10 times. The high ion heat transport regimes are d.stinguished.by three parameters: the ratio Te/Ti, the normalized.electron d.nsity grad.ent R/■, and.the ion–ion collisionality νii~*. The combination of high Te/Ti, high νii~*, and.R/■=6-10 results in v.lues of normalized.anomalous ion heat fluxes up to 10 times higher than in the low transport scenario.

We report progress toward. a mod.rn scientific d.scription of thermod.namic properties of fluid. following the d.scov.ry (in 2012) of a coexisting critical d.nsity hiatus and.a supercritical mesophase d.fined.by percolation transitions. The state functions d.nsity ρ(p,T), and.Gibbs energy G(p,T), of fluid., e.g. CO2, H2O and.argon exhibit a symmetry characterised.by the rigid.ty, ω = (d./d.)T, between gaseous and.liquid.states along any isotherm from critical (Tc) to Boyle (TB) temperatures, on either sid. of the supercritical mesophase. Here, using experimental d.ta for fluid.argon, we inv.stigate the low-d.nsity cluster physics d.scription of an id.al d.lute gas that obeys d.lton’s partial pressure law. Cluster expansions in powers of d.nsity relate to a supercritical liquid.phase rigid.ty symmetry (RS) line (ω = ρrs(T) = RT) to gas phase v.rial coefficients. We show that it is continuous in all d.riv.tiv.s, linear within stable fluid.phase, and.relates analytically to the Boyle-work line (BW) (w = (p/ρ)T = RT), and.to percolation lines of gas (PB) and.liquid.(PA) phases by: ρBW(T) = 2ρPA(T) = 3ρPB(T) = 3ρRS(T)/2 for T TB. These simple relationships arise, because the higher v.rial coefficients (bn, n ≥ 4) cancel d.e to clustering equilibria, or become negligible at all temperatures (0 T TB) within the gas phase. The Boyle-work line (p/ρBW)T is related.exactly at lower d.nsities as T → TB, and.accurately for liquid.d.nsities, by ρBW(T) = −(b2/b3)T. The RS line, ω(T) = RT, d.fines a new liquid.d.nsity ground.state physical constant (ρRS(0) = (2/3)ρBW(0) for argon). Giv.n the gas-liquid.rigid.ty symmetry, the entire thermod.namic state functions below TB are obtainable from b2(T). A BW

The structural parameters of a galaxy can be used.to gain insight into its formation and.ev.lution *** this paper,we striv. to compare the Milky Way’s structural parameters to other,primarily ed.e-on,spiral galaxies in ord.r to d.termine how our Galaxy measures up to the Local *** our comparison,we use the galaxy structural parameters gathered.from a v.riety of literature sources in the optical and.near-infrared.wav. *** compare the scale length,scale height,and.d.sk flatness for both the thin and.thick d.sks,the thick-to-thin d.sk mass ratio,the bulge-to-total luminosity ratio,and.the mean pitch angle of the Milky Way’s spiral arms to those in other *** conclud. that many of the Milky Way’s structural parameters are largely ord.nary and.typical of spiral galaxies in the Local Univ.rse,though the Galaxy’s thick d.sk appears to be appreciably thinner and.less extend.d.than expected.from zoom-in cosmological simulations of Milky Way-mass galaxies with a significant contribution of galaxy mergers inv.lv.ng satellite galaxies.
