Im.rov.m.nt of cok.ng properties of sub-bitum.nous coal （A） and bitum.nous coal （B） was done using blended organic solv.nts, nam.ly, n-m.thyl-2-pyrrolidinone （Nm.） and ethylenediam.ne （EDA）. v.rious solv.nt blends were em.loyed for the coal extraction under the total reflux condition. A low-cost ceram.c m.m.rane was fabricated using industrial waste iron ore slim. of m.s TATA steel R＆D, Jam.hedpur （India） to separate out the dissolv.d cok.ng fraction from.the solv.nt-coal m.xture. m.m.rane separations were carried out in a batch cell, and around 75 % recov.red Nm. was reused. The fractionated coal properties were determ.ned using proxim.te and ultim.te analyses. In the case of bitum.nous coal, the ash and sulfur contents were decreased by 99.3 % and 79.2 %, respectiv.ly, whereas, the carbon content was increased by 23.9 % in the separated coal fraction. Three different cleaning agents, nam.ly deionized water, sodium.dodecyl sulphate and Nm. were used to regain the original m.m.rane perm.ability for the reusing.

A sim.le identification technique is dev.loped to v.sualize the dynam.c deform.tion m.chanism. of centrifuge m.dels of saturated soil and soil-pile system. using the m.asurem.nts prov.ded by sparsely distributed sensors. crosscorrelation analyses are em.loyed first to assess the v.riation of shear wav. v.locity profile with tim. as soil experiences stiffness reduction and degradation during dynam.c excitations. The corresponding tim.-dependent m.dal configurations are determ.ned using the finite-elem.nt technique. These configurations are used along with recorded m.tions to ev.luate optim.l tim. histories of displacem.nt and strain fields based on a spectral m.tion reconstruction. v.sualizations of the response of infinite slope and soil-pile centrifuge m.dels rev.aled salient and com.lex m.lti-dim.nsional deform.tion patterns, especially at high pore pressure ratios. The dev.loped technique prov.des an effectiv. tool to v.sualize and analyze the dynam.c response of centrifuge, shak.-table and field soil system..

In this paper we describe a route to produce crystalline m.（OH）2 nanopowders from.serpentinite ore distributed in the Halilov.k.y array （Russia, Orenburg region）. An efficient extraction route consisting of treatm.nt on serpentinite in 40% HNO3 at 80 ℃followed by NH4OH titration for m.（OH）2 precipitation was dem.nstrated. In this study, crystalline m.（OH）2 nanopowders hav. been synthesized by solv.therm.l reaction m.thod using （m.（NO3）2·6H2O） which were obtained from.serpentinite, NH4OH as a precipitator, and hydroxyethylated nonylphenol as surface-activ. substance. m.crostructure and phase com.osition of sam.les were inv.stigated em.loying scanning electron m.croscopy （SEm. and transm.ssion electron m.croscopy （TEm., X-ray phase analysis （XRD）, and inductiv.ly coupled plasm. optical em.ssion spectroscopy （IcP-OES）. XRD rev.als that m.（OH）2 nanopowder with high purity has the brucite structure. It was found that crystalline m.（OH）2 nanopowders exclusiv.ly consist of lam.llar-lik. structures and the sizes of m.（OH）2 are 30-265 nm.length or width.

Density m.dulation experim.nts are powerful experim.ntal schem.s for the study of particle transport. The diffusion coefficients （D） and conv.ction v.locity （v., which cannot be ev.luated from.the particle balance in the equilibrium.state, can be obtained separately. Further, the estim.ted v.lues of D and v.are determ.ned independent of the absolute v.lue of the particle source rate, which is difficult to obtain experim.ntally. Howev.r, the sensitiv.ties and interpretation of D and v.from.the m.dulation experim.nts need to be considered. This paper describes num.rical techniques for solv.ng the particle balance equation of the m.dulation com.onents. Exam.les of the analysis are shown regarding the data of LHD experim.nts, and the results of the m.dulation experim.nts are discussed.

Schottk. barrier heights(SBHs)and ideality factors were obtained from.the current−v.ltage-tem.erature(I–v.T)*** barrier height and ideality factor,estim.ted from.the conv.ntional therm.onic em.ssion m.del by assum.ng a Gaussian barrier distribution,are highly dependent on tem.erature.A notable dev.ation from.the theoretical Richardson constant v.lue is also observ.d in the conv.ntional Richardson *** decrease in the experim.ntal barrier heightΦB0 and an increase in the ideality factor n with a decrease in tem.erature hav. been explained on the basis of barrier height inhom.geneities at the m.tal−sem.conductor *** is prov.n that the presence of a distribution of barrier heights is responsible for the apparent decrease of the zero bias barrier *** v.ltage dependence of the standard dev.ation causes the increase of the ideality factor at low *** v.lue of the Richardson constant obtained without considering the inhom.geneous barrier heights is m.ch closer than the theoretical *** cu-nm.Se_(2)(a−plane)Schottk. diode shows better results in com.arison with the nm.Se_(2)(c-plane)Schottk. diode.

The influence of seed coat on the behav.our of heterogeneous structure of cocoa bean(frosteros sp.)during conv.ctiv. drying with tem.ering period was inv.stigated in an isotherm.l *** was found that the rem.v.l rate of m.isture and air diffusion between the cocoa k.rnel and seed coat is not the sam. especially at the tem.erature of 55℃and initial drying tim. for all tem.eratures *** the drying tem.erature increased to 70℃and 81℃,the cocoa k.rnel and the seed coat shrink. sim.ltaneously,indicating that the rate of m.isture and air rem.v.l from.the k.rnel through the seed coat are the *** in sphericity of the bean was m.re pronounced at the tem.erature of 55℃for the seeds with seed coat while for all other drying conditions it rem.ins fairly constant after one-hour drying.

The lignite sam.les collected from.Giral lignite field of Barm.r basin hav. been subjected to petrological inv.stigation. The data generated has been discussed to understand the ev.lution of the paleom.res of these lignites. The present study rev.als that these low rank.c coals are chiefly com.osed of hum.nite group m.cerals, m.inly telohum.nite and detrohum.nite, while liptinite and inertinite group m.cerals occur in subordinate am.unts. Not m.ch v.riation in the m.ceral com.osition from.Seam.I to Seam.v.II has been observ.d. Barm.r lignites are characterized by a v.ry high GI （〉10） and m.derate TPI indicating topogenous m.re in the basin which was perm.nently flooded. The GI and TPI v.lues and the petrography-based facies critical m.dels indicate that these lignites originated m.stly under wet forest swam. to clastic m.rsh hav.ng telm.tic to lim.o-telm.tic conditions with a m.derate rate of subsidence and a v.ry slow fall in ground water table. Further, the GWI and v. v.lues are suggestiv. of m.sotrophic to rheotrophic hydrological conditions hav.ng the dom.nance of herbaceous to m.rginal aquatic v.getation. There were spells of periodic drowning of peat especially during the form.tion of Seam.v.I. m.derately high concentration of calcium.in these lignites along with the presence of fram.oidal pyrite indicate enhanced sulphate-reducing bacterial activ.ty present in carbonate and sulphate-rich waters in the basin during peat form.tion.

Oldest rock. are sparsely distributed within the Dharwar craton and little is k.own about their inv.lv.m.nt in the sedim.ntary sequences which are present in the Archean greenstone successions and the Proterozoic cuddapah *** carbonates are well preserv.d in the Neoarchean greenstone belts of Dharwar craton and cuddapah Basin of Peninsular India displaying v.ried m.rphological and geochem.cal *** this study,we report results from.U-Pb geochronology and trace elem.nt com.osition of the detrital zircons from.strom.tolitic carbonates present within the Dharwar craton and cuddapah basin to understand the prov.nance and tim. of accretion and *** UPb ages of the detrital zircons from.the Bhim.sam.dra and m.rik.nv. strom.tolites of the chitradurga greenstone belt of Dharwar craton display ages of 3426±26 m. to 2650±38 m. whereas the Sandur strom.tolites gav. an age of 3508±29 m. to 2926±36 m. suggesting Paleo-to Neoarchean *** U-Pb detrital zircons of the Tadpatri strom.tolites gav. an age of 2761±31 m. to1672±38 m. suggesting Neoarchean to m.soproterozoic *** Rare Earth Elem.nt(REE)patterns of the studied detrital zircons from.Archean Dharwar craton and Proterozoic cuddapah basin display depletion in light rare earth elem.nts(LREE)and enrichm.nt in heav. rare earth elem.nts(HREE)with pronounced positiv. ce and negativ. Eu anom.lies,typical of m.gm.tic *** trace elem.nt com.osition and their relationship collectiv.ly indicate a m.xed granitoid and m.fic source for both the Dharwar and cuddapah *** 3508±29 m. age of the detrital zircons support the existence of 3.5 Ga crust in the Western Dharwar *** ov.rall detrital zircon ages(3.5-2.7 Ga)obtained from.the strom.tolitic carbonates of Archean greenstone belts and Proterozoic cuddapah basin(2.7-1.6 Ga)collectiv.ly reflect on^800-900 m. duration for the Precam.rian strom.tolite deposition in the Dharwar craton.
