In the present investigation, composites with silicon carbide particle （siCp） as reinforcement and AZ91 magnesium alloy as matrix have been synthesized using liquid metal stir-casting technique with optimized processing conditions. the composites with good particle distribution in the matrix, and better grain refinement and good interfacial bonding between the matrix and reinforcement have been obtained. the effect of siCp content on the physical, mechanical, and tribological properties of Mg-based metal matrix composite （MMC） is studied with respect to particle distribution, grain refinement, and particle/matrix interfacial reactions. the electrical conductivity, coefficient of thermal expansion, microas well as macro-hardness, tensile and compressive properties, and the fracture behavior of the composites along with dry sliding wear of the composites have been evaluated and compared with the base alloy.

Fuel is a very important factor and has considerable inﬂuence on the air quality in the environment,which is the heart of the *** increase of vehi-cles in lived-in areas results in greater emission of carbon particles in the *** fuel causes more contaminated particles to mix with breathing air and becomes the main source of dangerous *** is the mixing of foreign substances in fuel,which damages vehicles and causes more health problems in living beings such as humans,birds,aquatic life,and even water resources by emitting high levels of hydrocarbons,nitrogen oxides,and carbon *** frequent blending liquids are lubricants and kerosene in the petrol,and its adulteration is a considerable problem that adds to environ-mental *** study focuses on detecting the adulteration in petrol using sensors and machine learning algorithms.A modiﬁed evanescent wave opticalﬁber sensor with discrete wavelet transform is proposed for classiﬁcation of adult-erated data from the ***,support vector machine classiﬁer is used for accurate *** sensor isﬁrst tested with fuel and numerical data is classiﬁed based on machine learning ***,the result is eval-uated with less error and high accuracy of 99.9%,which is higher than all existing techniques.

the tight focusing properties of a radially polarized Gaussian beam with a nested pair of vortices having a radial wave front distribution are investigated theoretically by the vector diffraction theory. the results show that the optical intensity in the focal region can be altered considerably by changing the location of the vortices nested in a radially polarized Gaussian beam. It is noted that focal evolution from one annular focal pattern to a highly confined focal spot in the transverse direction is observed corresponding to the change in the location of the optical vortices in the input plane. It is also observed that the generated focal hole or spot lead to a focal shift along the optical axis remarkably under proper radial phase modulation. Hence the proposed system may be applied to construct tunable optical traps for both high and low refractive index particles.

the room temperature mechanical properties and high temperature creep behavior of AZ91 alloy reinforced with siC_(p) synthesized via stir casting have been *** mechanical properties showed improvement with respect to the amount of reinforcement *** creep testing of the composites carried out at a temperature of 175 ℃ under constant stress of 80,100 and 120 MPa reveals different creep characteristics depending upon the reinforcement content and the applied *** true stress exponents of different composites calculated from minimum creep rate indicate the possible mechanisms of creep deformation.

A hybrid numerical flux scheme is proposed by adapting the carbunclefree modified Harten-Lax-van Leer contact(HLLCM) scheme to smoothly revert to the Harten-Lax-van Leer contact(HLLC) scheme in regions of shear. this hybrid scheme, referred to as the HLLCt scheme, employs a novel, velocity-based shear sensor. In contrast to the non-local pressure-based shock sensors often used in carbuncle cures, the proposed shear sensor can be computed in a localized manner meaning that the HLLCt scheme can be easily introduced into existing codes without having to implement additional data structures. through numerical experiments, it is shown that the HLLCt scheme is able to resolve shear layers accurately without succumbing to the shock instability.

Results of inelastic neutron scattering experinients and ab initio molecular dynamics simulations for Gete 一 the parent compound of phase-change materials are reported. the inelastic neutron spectra of Gete powder samples have been determined in the temperature range extending from 300 to 700 K. the phonon peaks undergo thermal shifts resulting from anharmonic effects being weaker for acoustic than optic modes. A small concentration of free charge carries arising from the presence of Ge-vacancies was found not to affect significantly the neutron weighted phonon densities of states of Gete. the spectral pattern changes qualitatively across the structural phase transition, but the local structure of Gete remains hardly affected, as confirmed by the analysis of temperature dependence of the pairdistribution function obtained from ab initio molecular dynamics investigations. the present theoretical studies support in a wide extent our experimental observations and also those provided by local probe methods.

For the long-term fortification of warehoused crops, the insecticidal impact of cold plasma treated wheat seeds against red flour beetles are *** this study, the gain weight loss,mortality and repellency tests of cold plasma treated seeds are investigated and statistical analysis is carried out by sPss *** plasma treatment is carried out at 800 V for 1 and 4 *** results show that the minimum grain weight loss is observed in plasma treated seeds as compared to controlled *** is also observed that the mortality rate is minimum in the controlled seed while maximum at 4 min plasma ***, the repellent effect has a very small variation as compared to the controlled seed for tribolium ***, plasma treatment can be considered as a practical and effective method for seed protection against red floor beetles particularly during long-term storage by controlling the insecticidal effects.

the unsteady stagnation-point flow of a hybrid nanofluid over a stretching/shrinking sheet embedded in a porous medium with mass transpiration and chemical reactions is *** momentum and mass transfer problems are combined to form a system of partial differential equations,which is converted into a set of ordinary differential equations via similarity *** ordinary differential equations are solved analytically to obtain the solution for velocity and concentration profiles in exponential and hypergeometric forms,*** concentration profile is obtained for four different cases namely constant wall concentration,uniform mass flux,general power law wall con-centration and general power law mass *** effect of different physical parameters such as Darcy number Da^(1-1),mass transpiration parameter V_(C),stretching/shrinking parameter (d),chemical reaction parameter(β)and schmidt number (sc)on velocity and concentration profile is *** show that,the axial velocity will decreases as the shrinking sheet parameter increases,regardless of whether the suction or injection case is *** concentration decreases with an increase in the shrinking sheet parameter and the chemical reaction rate parameter.

the corrosion behaviour of the hard anodic coatings prepared by three different methods viz., conventional hard anodizing （C-HA）, pulse hard anodizing （P-HA） and low voltage room temperature pulse hard anodizing （LVP- HA） on AA 6061 was compared using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIs） and linear polarisation. scanning electron microscope （sEM） was used to study the surface morphology before and after corrosion. EIs data revealed that no significant difference in corrosion resistance was observed among three types. Rp, Icorr and Ecorr were found to be highly stable over the exposure period up to 72 h which confirms the excellent corrosion resistance. the studies indicate that the corrosion resistance of LVP-HA and P-HA, which are processed at lower voltage and at relatively higher temperatures, are comparable to that of C-HA which is processed at sub-zero temperatures and high operating voltages. the corrosion resistance of all coatings was found to be improved after hydrothermal sealing.
