Effect of Power and Nitrogen Content on the Deposition of CrN Films by using Pulsed DC Magnetron Sputtering Plasma

CrN thin films are deposited on stainless steel （AISI-304） substrate using pulsed DC magnetron sputtering in a mixture of nitrogen and argon plasma. Two set of samples are prepared. The first set of sample is treated at different powers （100 W to 200 W） in a mixture of argon （95%） and nitrogen （5%）. The second set of samples is treated at different nitrogen concentrations （5% to 20%） in argon （95% to 80%） for a constant power （150 W）. X-ray diffraction （XRD） analysis exhibits the development of new phases related to different compounds. The crystallinity of CrN varies by varying the applied power and nitrogen content. Crystallite size and residual stresses of the CrN （111） plane show similar variation for the applied power and nitrogen contents. Scanning electron microscopy （SEM） analysis shows the formation of a granular surface morphology that varies with the change of powers and nitrogen content. The thickness of the film is measured using SEM cross sectional images and using atomic force microscopy （AFM） scratch analysis. The maximum film thickness （about 755 nm） is obtained for the film deposited at 5% nitrogen in 95% argon at 150 W power. For these conditions, maximum hardness is also observed.

In this study,carbamazepine(CBZ)decay in solution has been studied by coupling electro-coagulation with electro-Fenton(EC-EF)with a novel P-rGO/carbon felt(CF)cathode,aiming to accelerate the in-situ generation of·OH,instead of adding Fe2+and ***,the fabri-cated P-rGO and its derived cathode were characterized by XRD,SEM,AFM,XPS and electro-chemical test(EIS,CV and LSV).Secondly,it was confirmed that the performance in removal efficiency and electric energy consumption(EEC)by EC-EF(kobs=0.124 min^(-1),EEC=43.98 kWh/kg CBZ)was better than EF(kobs=0.069 min^(-1),EEC=61.04 kWh/kg CBZ).Then,P-rGO/CF(kobs=0.248 min^(-1),EEC=29.47 kWh/kg CBZ,CE=61.04%)showed the best performance in EC-EF,among all studied heteroatom-doped graphene/*** superior performance may be associated with its largest layer spacing and richest C=C,which can promote the electron transfer rate and conductivity of the ***,more H2O2 and·OH could be produced to degrade CBZ,and almost 100%CBZ was removed with kobs being 0.337 min^(-1) and the EEC was only 24.18 kWh/kg CBZ,under the optimal conditions(P-rGO loading was 6.0 mg/cm^(2),the current density was 10.0 mA/cm^(2),the gap between electrode was 2.0 cm).Additionally,no matter the influent is acidic,neutral or alkaline,no additional pH adjustment is required for the effluent of *** last,an inconsecutive empirical kinetic model was firstly estab-lished to predict the effect of operating parameters on CBZ removal.

NiTi shape memory alloys（SMA） have many biomedical applications due to their excellent mechanical and biocompatible properties. However, nickel in the alloy may cause allergic and toxic reactions, which limit some applications. In this work, titanium oxynitride films were deposited on NiTi samples by high vacuum magnetron sputtering for various nitrogen and oxygen gas flow rates. The x-ray diffraction（XRD） and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS） results reveal the presence of different phases in the titanium oxynitride thin films. Energy dispersive spectroscopy（EDS） elemental mapping of samples after immersion in simulated body fluids（SBF） shows that Ni is depleted from the surface and cell cultures corroborate the enhanced biocompatibility in vitro.

Damping improvement in composite structures via introducing nanofillers generally has remarkable negative effects on the other mechanical properties. Therefore, in the present work, SiC and A1203 nanoparticles＇ infusion effects on the flexural, interracial and vibration properties of epoxy matrix and glass fiber reinforced epoxy （GFR/E） laminates were investigated. unidirectional （uD-GFR/E） and quasi-isotropic （QI-GFR/E） laminates with [0/± 45/90]s and [90/±45/0]s stack- ing sequences were hybridized by the optimum nanoparticles percentages. Results from off-axis flexural strengths of uD-GFR/E demonstrate good fiber/nanophased-matrix interracial bonding. The interlaminar shear stress between the adjacent layers with different orientations/strains of duc- tile QI-GFR/SiC/E laminates results in decreasing the flexural strengths respectively by 24.3% and 9.1% for [0/±45/90]s and [90/± 45/0]s stacking sequences and increasing the dissipated interfacial friction energy and thus the damping by 105.7% and 26.1%. The damping of QI-GFR/E, QI-GFR/SiC/E and QI-GFR/AI203/E laminates with [90/± 45/0]s stacking sequence was increased by 111.4%, 29.7% and 32.9% respectively compared to [0/± 45/90]s stacking sequence.

In this paper, the propagation of longitudinal stress waves under a longitu- dinal magnetic field is addressed using a unified nonlocal elasticity model with two scale coefficients. The analysis of wave motion is mainly based on the Love rod model. The effect of shear is also taken into account in the framework of Bishop＇s correction. This analysis shows that the classical theory is not sufficient for this subject. However, this unified nonlocal elasticity model solely used in the present study reflects in a manner fairly realistic for the effect of the longitudinal magnetic field on the longitudinal wave propagation.

This study investigated selected properties of soils affected by wastewater and its relationship with some heavy metals. A free survey technique involving target sampling was used in siting soil profile pits. Soil samples were collected based on horizon differentiation and analyzed using routine and special analytical techniques. Soil data were subjected to correlation analysis using SAS program. Results show that all heavy metals studied had values above critical limits in the polluted soils using known standards and that these biotoxic metals decreased with soil depths. Highly significant (P=0.01 and 0.05) relationships were established between investigated heavy metals and some soil properties, especially soil pH and organic matter. Further studies involving more edaphic properties, biotoxic metals and their bioaccessibility in crops growing on wastewater soils will surely enhance knowledge and management of these highly anthropogenically influenced soils of the study site.

In this paper, we consider the giving up smoking model. First, we present the giving up smoking model in fractional order. Then the homotopy analysis method (HAM) is employed to compute an approximate and analytical solution of the model in fractional order. The obtained results are compaired with those obtained by forth order Runge-Kutta method and nonstandard numerical method in the integer case. Finally, we present some numerical results.

Catalytic ozonation is an effective wastewater purification ***,the low ozone mass transfer in packed bubble columns leads to low ozone utilization efficiency(OuE),poor organic degradation performance,and high energy ***,there is an urgent need to develop efficient supported catalysts that can enhancemass transfer and ***,the reaction mechanism of the support on ozone mass transfer remains unclear,which hinders the development of catalytic ozonation *** this study,lava rocks(LR)-supported catalysts,specifically CuMn_(2)O_(4)@LR and MnO_(2)–Co_(3)O_(4)@LR,were proposed for catalytic ozonation of IBP degradation due to their superior catalytic activity,stability,and high *** of CuMn_(2)O_(4)@LR or MnO_(2)–Co_(3)O_(4)@LR increased IBP removal efficiency from 85%to 91%or 88%,and reduced energy consumption from 2.86 to 2.14 kWh/m^(3)or 2.60 kWh/m^(3),*** improvement was attributed to LRsupported catalysts enhancing mass transfer and promoting O3 decomposition to generate•OH and•O_(2)^(−),leading to IBP ***,this study investigated the effects of ozone dose,supporter sizes,and catalyst components on ozone-liquid mass *** results revealed that the size of the supporter influenced stacked porosity and consequently affected ozone mass ***-sized LR(kLa=0.172 min^(−1))exhibited better mass transfer compared to smaller-sized *** on these findings,it was concluded that both CuMn_(2)O_(4)@LR and MnO_(2)–Co_(3)O_(4)@LR are potential catalysts for catalytic ozonation in residual IBP degradation of pharmaceutical wastewater,and LR showed good credibility as a catalyst *** the effects of supporters and active components on ozone mass transfer provides a fundamental principle for designing supported catalysts in catalytic ozonation applications.

Flexibility of the CSIR-RCS, induction stirring with simultaneous air cooling process, in combination with high pressure die casting is successfully demonstrated by semi-solid rheocasting of plates performed on commercial 2024, 6082 and 7075 wrought aluminum alloys. Tensile properties were measured for the above mentioned rheocast wrought aluminum alloys in the T6 condition. The results showed that tensile properties were close to or even in some cases exceeded the minimum specifications. The yield strength and elongation of rheocast 2024-T6 exceeded the minimum requirements of the wrought alloy in the T6 condition but the ultimate tensile strength achieved only 90% of the specification because the Mg content of the starting alloy was below the commercial alloy specification. The strengths of rheocast 6082-T6 exceeded all of the wrought alloy T6 strength targets but the elongation only managed 36% of the required minimum due to porosity, caused by incipient melting during solution heat treatment, and the presence of fine intermetallie needles in the eutectic. The yield strength of rheocast 7075 exceeded the required one and the ultimate tensile strength also managed 97% of the specification; while the elongation only reached 46% of the minimum requirement also due to incipient melting porosity caused during the solution heat treatment process.
