In this article, I read different poems of London through the perspectives of time and the self. The city of London, as a physical space, a world in the Alfred Tennyson＇s Cleopatra＇s Nee history to Tennyson＇s Victorian Lo globe, is changing dle, the flow of tid ndon. The Needle through both inner time and outer time. Firstly, in Lord e symbolises the passing time, through the long Egyptian has been through different seas and places. The sense of history, a fusion of inner time and outer time, is claimed by the Needle＇s subjective self, seeing London as a ＂monster town＂. Secondly, Ahren Wamer＇s Greek titled poem is trying to locate the one in London, which cannot be localized, in the trend of globalization, as the gazer observed on the bus. Struggling between the self and the other, inner and outer existences, happiness and being unhappy, W. B. Yeats＇ from Vacillation comes to show the reader that through reflection and memory, the sense of one＇s own self can be reinforced and affirmed, while creating one＇s own personal history. Last but not the least, I read a part from T. S. Eliot＇s Four Quartets As the dialectic of light and shadow plays a sense of Beauty, the soul is aware of all fancy things, but only without any meanings. The question of the self and tradition, the poet and the world, somehow, is a timeless one

The purpose of this research is to see the image of New York and London in Charles Dickens＇s writings. In American Notes （1987）, on the surface, the city shows Dickens＇s eye of observation, revealing the dark side of the city. However, his writing expresses more than what he sees. In this paper, the author sees New York and London not only as realistic accounts of what things look like, but also a true realization of how Dickens feels about himself, and about the country in which he was situated in. In Oliver Twist （2003）, a New York prison can be linked to Dickens＇s London, representing the darkness of the city with the prison cell and its suggestiveness, including punishment, exclusion, and dehumanization. A New York Asylum reveals the dialectic of order and disorder, in a way which alienation brings out the crisis of humanity. This research shows that New York is an extension of London, in a way which the personal crisis is vividly revealed, as the reader can see in Charles Dickens. A Life （2012）. Through New York, Dickens is more conscious about his London childhood, as spatial representations of London have their own symbolic meanings

In this article,the author reads three literary texts—Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice,Harold Pinter’s The Birthday Party,and Edith Wharton’s The Age of Innocence,in order to theorise two aspects of realism in terms of visual and verbal *** first aspect of realism would be through physical events and *** second one is through the thinking process of a *** essential point of using realism to read a text is not to see how real the description of a figure or an object ***,as the author would argue,realism is to be understood as the way in which life is true to a character’s condition.

In this paper, the author read Henry James＇s The Awkward Age and Virginia Woolf＇s Mrs Dalloway＇s Party, in order to demonstrate the dialectical moment of London＇s age and ageless. The age of London is in the character of literary works, as Clarissa Dalloway comes to show the reader her feelings while walking on the London street. At the gate of St James Park, she has the dialectical moment of feeling ＂very young; at the same time unspeakably aged＂（Woolf, 2010）. That is a moment which represents a particular sense of personal history, when the past comes into one＇s own living present.

London in Love

In this paper, I read several literary texts, in order to demonstrate the relation between the viewing subject and the gazed object, in terms of love, illusion, and and aesthetic ecstasy. Walter Benjamin＇s untitled poem illuminates love and blessing through artistic images, as in Giorgio de Chirico＇s painting, The Song of Love （1914）. Love in London is somehow a dream-like image--a surreal illusion of love, which stays in the viewer＇s mind as a poem of colours, representing etemity. Virginia Woolf＇s Night andDay says it better, when Mary walks into the British Museum and gazes at the Elgin Marbles, thinking how much she is in love with Ralph. John Keats＇＂On Seeing the Elgin Marbles＂ also depicts the way in which a gaze of love could be an eternal moment of aesthetic ecstasy .

A writer＇s narrative style is about the way in which he or she comes to handle a subject--it can be a theme, a character, or a place, etc.. When someone tries to define Henry James＇s writing style, for instance, he or she is amazed by the sense of richness in Jamesian styles, because of the writer＇s own life experience and life style Travelling around different cities and going to art galleries and museums certainly construct James＇s unique way of seeing. In this article, the author wants to focus on Jamesian ways of seeing the relation between art and writing. Treating novel as a form of fine arts, the author would suggest, James uses techniques of painting and photography in the writing about the impressions of the cities.

Through reading Walter Benjamin＇s critical essay, Surrealism： The Last Snapshot of the European Intelligentsia, the authors of this research would like to trace the key point of Surrealist aesthetics, particularly the juxtapositions of visual objects in the city of London. Richard Aldington＇s two poems, London （May 1915） and Eros andPsyche, come to depict Surrealist image spheres, as their visual representations in words would show. The dialectical optic of the poet comes to reveal an allegorical synthesis, giving birth to new meanings. The city of London shows the irrational fusion of the opposites, in a way which a Surrealist reading of these two poems is able to construct a critical virtue.

Corneal neuromas,also termed microneuromas,refer to microscopic,irregula rly-shaped enlargements of terminal subbasal nerve endings at sites of nerve damage or *** formation of corneal neuromas results from damage to corneal nerves,such as following corneal pathology or corneal or intraocular surge ***,denervated areas of sensory nerve fibers become invaded by sprouts of intact sensory nerve fibers,and later injured axons regenerate and new sprouts called neuromas *** recent years,analysis of corneal nerve abnormalities including corneal neuromas which can be identified using in vivo confocal microscopy,a non-invasive imaging technique with microscopic resolution,has been used to evaluate corneal neuropathy and ocular surface *** neuromas have been shown to be associated with clinical symptoms of discomfort and dryness of eyes,and are a promising surrogate biomarker for ocular surface diseases,such as neuropathic corneal pain,dry eye disease,diabetic corneal neuropathy,neurotrophic keratopathy,Sjogren's syndrome,bullous keratopathy,post-refra ctive surgery,and *** this review,we have summarized the current literature on the association between these ocular surface diseases and the presentation of corneal microneuromas,as well as elaborated on their pathogenesis,visualization via in vivo confocal microscopy,and utility in monitoring treatment *** current quantitative analysis on neuromas mainly relies on manual annotation and quantification,which is user-dependent and labor-intensive,future direction includes the development of artificial intelligence software to identify and quantify these potential imaging biomarkers in a more automated and sensitive manner,allowing it to be applied in clinical settings more *** imaging and molecular biomarkers may also help elucidate the associations between corneal neuromas and ocular surface diseases.
