Effects of alkaline-electrolyzed and hydrogen-rich water,in a high-fat-diet nonalcoholic fatty liver disease mouse model

AIM To identify the effect of hydrogen-rich water(HRW) and electrolyzed-alkaline water(EAW) on high-fat-induced non-alcoholic fatty acid disease in *** Mice were divided into four groups:(1) Regular diet(RD)/regular water(RW);(2) high-fat diet(HFD)/RW;(3) RD/EAW; and(4) HFD/EAW. Weight and body composition were measured. After twelve weeks, animals were sacrificed, and livers were processed for histology and reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. A similar experiment was performed using HRW to determine the influence and importance of molecular hydrogen(H2) in EAW. Finally, we compared the response of hepatocytes isolated from mice drinking HRW or RW to palmitate *** EAW had several properties important to the study:(1) pH = 11;(2) oxidation-reduction potential of-495 mV; and(3) H2 = 0.2 mg/L. However, in contrast to other studies, there were no differences between the groups drinking EAW or RW in either the RD or HFD groups. We hypothesized that the null result was due to low H2 concentrations. Therefore, we evaluated the effects of RW and low and high HRW concentrations(L-HRW = 0.3 mg H2/L and H-HRW = 0.8 mg H2/L, respectively) in mice fed an HFD. Compared to RW and L-HRW, H-HRW resulted in a lower increase in fat mass(46% vs 61%), an increase in lean body mass(42% vs 28%), and a decrease in hepatic lipid accumulation(P < 0.01). Lastly, exposure of hepatocytes isolated from mice drinking H-HRW to palmitate overload demonstrated a protective effect from H2 by reducing hepatocyte lipid accumulation in comparison to mice drinking regular *** H2 is the therapeutic agent in electrolyzed-alkaline water and attenuates HFD-induced nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in mice.

Soil Organic Carbon Loss and Turnover Resulting from Forest Conversion to Maize Fields in Eastern Thailand

Soil organic carbon(SOC) content and its stable carbon isotopic composition(within the upper 1 m) were measured to determine the e?ect of land-use changes from dry evergreen forest to maize fields in eastern *** land cover maps,derived from aerial photography and satellite images for years 1989,1996,and 2002 were used in association with field surveys and farmer interviews to derive land-use history and to assist in study site *** from forest to maize cultivation for the duration of 12 years reduced SOC stocks at the rate of 6.97 Mg C ha-1 *** was most pronounced in the top 10 cm soil layer,which was 47% after 12 years of *** carbon isotope data revealed that the main fraction lost was forest-derived *** low input rates of maize-derived C were not sufficient to maintain SOC at the level prior to forest *** 12 years of continuous maize cultivation,the maize-derived C fraction made up about 20% of total SOC(5 Mg ha-1 of the total 25.31 Mg ha-1).

为更好学习创新创业教育国际经验,客观看待中美创新创业教育模式,笔者利用2019年在美国杨百翰大学访学机会,通过实地参加"创业管理"本科专业课程学习;查阅杨百翰大学图书馆数据库、谷歌学术、中国知网等渠道文献材料;对杨百翰大学、纽约大学、乔治华盛顿等美国研究型大学等创业管理专业教授和管理者、体育创业课程负责人、学生、美国本土创业者、创业畅销书作者、投资人等进行面对面访谈,访谈内容包括:创业是否可以教;没有创业经验的教授是否可以教创业;美国高校在推进创业教育教学方面开展了哪些改革,具有哪些特色和经验;常用教学方法;慕课在创业教育中扮演的角色;创业教育教学和创新创业人才培养质量如何评价;高质量的创业教育教学具有哪些特征;体育类创业教育和创业教育的异同等。通过对以上信息的归纳总结、比较分析,结合我国国情和体育院校创新创业实际得出以下研究结论,并对体育院校进一步做好创新创业工作提出了意见与建议。研究认为:1)以杨百翰大学为代表的美国研究型大学双创教育注重学科的原理与基础,认为各种创业活动的背后存在一定的原理,创业"可以教、可以学"。创业者在学习了创业原理后开展的创业活动能够降低创业失败的概率。美国研究型大学在配备创新创业教育师资时,通常会配备"专职教授"与"兼职教授";专职教授负责创业学原理基础教育,兼职教授负责在创业基础上进行创业前沿领域内容教学。专职教授通常为美国研究型大学博士毕业,不要求具备创业经历;兼职教授对学历方面要求不高,但需要具备较为丰富的创业经验,且在领域内具备知名度。2)美国研究型大学双创教育原理基于"设计思维"、"精益创业"理念,鼓励学生使用"设计思维"发现创业机会,使用"精益创业"中最简可行产品检验创业机会是否可行,通过不断与客户保持交流、吸纳市场意见迭代和开发满足市场需求的产品和服务;3)美国研究型大学注重创业赛事和教学内容相辅相成,课程是创业大赛的基础,大赛是课程效果的检验。以杨百翰大学创业管理专业《创新创业思维》必修课为例,在教学过程中,教授以《商业模式画布》为框架带领学生探寻创业想法的商业模式;课程结束后,学生使用自己在课上完善好的成果参加商业模式大赛或创业大赛。另外,以面授课程、双创大赛及双创保障三方面有机互动的"创业生态圈"模式较为成熟。建议:1)树立本土化发展自信。从发展过程角度来说,美国创新创业教育起步早、成熟度高,但仍存在种种问题,例如有些高校创业管理专业的录取制度使一些有创业天赋的学生与本专业失之交臂;有的用人单位质疑"创业学"这个专业的毕业生能做什么;毕业生发愁毕业后找什么工作。自2013年以来,在多个国家部委数次发文要求做好大学生创新创业工作的大背景下,国内双创教育经历了快速发展的过程;有效推动了各高校创新创业工作开展与人才培养的力度,诞生了一批有助于国家科技进步与经济社会发展的大学生创业项目。体育院校创新创业教育者和工作人员有必要对今后发展保持自信,客观看待当前发展现状及优势,脚踏实地做好具有中国特色、本土化的体育创新创业人才培养工作。2)体育院校大学生创新创业前应加强商业知识学习。以北京体育大学为例,通过对参加学校创业大赛的学生访谈得知,一些学生在注册成立公司或开展创业活动前其实并没有进行深入的思考,公司运营或参加比赛后,才意识到需要学习的内容其实非常之多,容易导致虽然项目各具行业特色,却难以维持运营或长久发展。有必要在体育院校创新创业教育课堂上以《商业模式画布》或《商业计划书》为纲领,普及商业运营领域方面的知识与内容,加强对体育类专业大学生商业意识培养,进一步打牢体育院校大学生创新创业的根基。3)美国研究型大学会刻意安排科技类专业与其他专业学生组成创业活动小组,确保创业想法与前沿领域科技有机结合。北京市教委于2020年启动"北京高校大学生创新创业训练项目校际合作计划",清华大学通过探索建设"人工智能创新创业教育平台"实现了17个共建院系不同专业门类的有机联动。对体育院校来说,"体育与科技的融合"需要更好的落地,例如形成体育科技产品。这一过程如何实现亟需探索,不仅是目前的研究局限性所在,也是制约中国体育产业发展的关键因素。4)对于体育类院校来说,在维护完善校外导师库的同时,培养建立一支稳定的校内指导教师队伍更加重要。理想情况下,校内指导教师队伍在具有较强体育专长和专业技术水平的同时,还应了解体育产业或体育科技的发展,具备一定的商业敏感性,能够较为准确的判断创业项目是否具备上文提到的关键因素,具备到什么程度,欠缺在哪里,如何补足;具有正确的商业道德观与价值准绳,在良好的商业行为方面对学生进行引导;具有较高的思政水平,在辅导体育专业大学生创新创业的同时,为社会培养眼光长远、责任意识较强的优秀体育企业家,以及能够在不同工作岗位创新性的提出问题解决方案的创新型人才。

Subcutaneous fatty acid composition of steers finished as weanlings or yearlings with and without growth promotants

Background： The current study evaluated the subcutaneous fatty acid （FA） composition of calf- and yearling-fed steer with or without growth promoting implants. Crossbred steers （n = 112; 267 ± 5.0 kg） of the same contemporary group were allocated to one of four production system and implant strategy based treatments in a completely randomized design with a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement of treatments. Results： There were no interactions （P 〉 0.05） between production systems and growth promoting implants for the total and individual subcutaneous FA. Yearling as opposed to calf finishing reduced （P 〈 0.05） subcutaneous proportions of C20：3n-6, trans （t）l 2-18：1, C14：0, several minor cis-monounsaturated FA （c-MUFA; c9-14：1, c11-16：1, cl 1-18：1, cl 2-18：1, cl 3-18：1, c9-20：1 and cl 1-20：1）, and increased （P 〈 0.05） subcutaneous proportions of tl 1 cl 5-18：2, total and individual branched-chain FA. Subcutaneous fat from steers implanted with growth promotants had higher （P 〈 0.05） proportions of total polyunsaturated FA （PUFA）, total n-6 PUFA, C18：2n-6 and individual t-18：1 isomers （t6 to tl0） compared to non-implanted steers. Conclusions： Overall, current findings show that production systems and growth promotants led to only minor differences in subcutaneous FA composition of beef steers.
