Mesozoic high-Ba-Sr granitoids from North China:geochemical characteristics and geological implications

Mesozoic mafic rocks in the Dable-Sulu orogen(DSO) are enriched in large-ion lithophile elements (LILE,e.g.,Rb,K,Sr,Ba),relatively depleted in high-field strength elements(HFSE,e.g., Nl),Ta,P,Ti),and have strongly fractionated rare-earth elements(REE) and highly"enriched"Sr-Nd isotope ***"are-type"geochemical signatures have been generally ascribed to mantle source enrichment beneath the DSO by fluids/melts released from deeply subducted Triassic continental crust,i.e.,part of the South Cliina block(SCB).However,contemporaneous mafic rocks are widespread in the North China block(NCR) and possess similar elemental and Sr-Nd isotopic characteristics. Given that most of the NCB mafic rocks were emplaced at a considerable distance from the DSO,their are-type geochemical features are unlikely to have been caused by Triassic continental ***,we argue that subduction of the SCB is a potential,but not necessarily the only,mechanism responsible for mantle enrichment beneath the *** propose instead that the lithospheric mantle beneath the DSO and NCB was enriched prior to Triassic subduction,and that generation of the mafic rocks in both regions was due to a shared,regional-scale geological event, which we attribute lo post-collisional delamination of the mantle lilhosphere.

A survey on the real-world clinical utilization of a traditional acupuncture in Republic of Korea:Sa-am acupuncture

Mesozoic magmatism occurred extensively in the North China block(NCB) and the Dabie-Sulu orogen(DSO) post-dating the North-South China collision,resulting in abundant intrusive and volcanic rocks ranging from basic to acidic *** intermediate-acidic intrusive rocks can be grouped into two types,namely high-Ba-Sr granitoids and low-Ba-Sr granitoids that both have distinct geochemical *** high-Ba -Sr granitoids are similar in most of the incompatible trace element systematics to the associated basic rocks,which probably originated from melting of subcontinental lithospheric mantle,indicating significant mantle contributions to them. Geochemical similarities are observed between the basic rocks from the NCB and DSO,implying a regional-scale magmagenerating mechanism and that mantle enrichment beneath the DSO was independent from the Triassic deep continental subduction in the *** therefore interpret that the Mesozoic magmatism resulted from delamination of the ancient lithospheric mantle beneath the eastern part of North China.

Objective This study investigated the clinical details and usage of Sa-am acupuncture in Korean medicine clinics and explored how practicing Korean medicine doctors(KMDs)think about Sa-am *** We conducted a questionnaire-based survey of KMDs who utilize Sa-am acupuncture in their *** study comprehensively investigated issues related to clinical application of Sa-am acupuncture,needling techniques used during treatment,training methods,and directions for its future *** We analyzed 572 *** average of 50%of the patients visiting Korean medicine clinics were receiving Sa-am *** most prevalent indication for Sa-am acupuncture use was digestive *** patients’appetite level and digestive function were most frequently used indicators for selecting acupuncture *** prescription compositions,Jung-Gyuk formulas were more frequently used than Seung-Gyuk *** the needle along the flow of the channel or against the flow of the channel was most *** acupuncture style most frequently used in combination with Sa-am acupuncture was Ashi point *** of Sa-am acupuncture included its versatility,easy application,and good *** included the lack of rigorous education and training programs,difficulty in applying the principles for beginners,and insufficient clinical research *** In clinics where Sa-am acupuncture is available,KMDs were providing Sa-am acupuncture to about half of their *** were not using all of the tonification and sedation techniques which may be due to time constraints or simply a lack of ***-am acupuncture demonstrated high utility in clinical practice and high satisfaction based on the efficacy and *** training programs and high-quality research are needed to help expand the use of Sa-am acupuncture.

Food waste is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions when it ends up in *** turns out to be a sustainable solution to this problem,but it requires controlled and continuous airflow for optimal *** study focused on the effect of aeration rates and airflow directions on food waste composting using a closed system with forced *** was entered into the composting vessel in three directions,which were upward,downward,and a combination of both *** direction was run at aeration rates of 0.1,0.4,and 0.7 L/*** findings showed that the compost pile aerated at 0.4 L/min by using two-directional airflow can reach the thermophilic temperature within half of the *** compost pile achieved temperature of 40.94℃ after 10.5 *** the compost experienced slightly high in moisture loss(4.3%),the compost still attained the standard values for *** compost produced from food waste could be applied in soil to improve its fertility.

Tissue regeneration requires structural holding and movement support using tissue-type-specific aids such as bone casts,skin bandages,and joint ***,an unmet need exists in aiding breast fat regeneration as the breast moves following continuous body motion by exposing the breast fat to dynamic ***,the concept of elastic structural holding is applied to develop a shape-fitting moldable membrane for breast fat regeneration(“adipoconductive”)after surgical defects are *** membrane has the following key characteristics:(a)It contains a panel of honeycomb structures,thereby efficiently handling motion stress through the entire membrane;(b)a strut is added into each honeycomb in a direction perpendicular to gravity,thereby suppressing the deformation and stress concentration upon lying and standing;and(c)thermo-responsive moldable elastomers are used to support structural holding by suppressing large deviations of movement that occur *** elastomer became moldable upon a temperature shift above T_(m).The structure can then be fixed as the temperature *** a result,the membrane promotes adipogenesis by activating mechanotransduction in a fat miniature model with pre-adipocyte spheroids under continuous shaking in vitro and in a subcutaneous implant placed on the motion-prone back areas of rodents in vivo.

Zinc-air batteries(ZABs)are gaining attention as an ideal option for various applications requiring high-capacity batteries,such as portable electronics,electric vehicles,and renewable energy *** offer advantages such as low environmental impact,enhanced safety compared to Li-ion batteries,and cost-effectiveness due to the abundance of ***,early research faced challenges due to parasitic reactions at the zinc anode and slow oxygen redox *** advancements in restructuring the anode,utilizing alternative electrolytes,and developing bifunctional oxygen catalysts have significantly improved *** have achieved battery reversibility over thousands of cycles,introduced new electrolytes,and achieved energy efficiency records surpassing 70%.Despite these achievements,there are challenges related to lower power density,shorter lifespan,and air electrode corrosion leading to performance *** review paper discusses different battery configurations,and reaction mechanisms for electrically and mechanically rechargeable ZABs,and proposes remedies to enhance overall battery *** paper also explores recent advancements,applications,and the future prospects of electrically/mechanically rechargeable ZABs.

We read with great interest the article by Fujiki et *** in the Annals of Surgery(1),which advocates for the use of a left liver graft with a pure laparoscopic donor hepatectomy(PLDH)approach to reduce the burden on living *** invasive techniques,including laparoscopic surgery,have been increasingly adopted in donor hepatectomy for liver *** reflects a broader trend in various surgical fields to enhance patient outcomes both cosmetically and *** the first report of a PLDH in the form of a left lateral sectionectomy in 2002(2),this approach has expanded to include full left and full right hepatectomies(3,4).With advancements in laparoscopic instruments and growing experience,PLDH has become a standard practice for left lateral section grafts,as recognized by the most recent international consensus guideline(5).However,PLDH for full left and full right grafts has not yet reached the same level of *** performed in Asian countries,PLDH for these grafts highlights differences in donor and recipient characteristics compared to Western *** studies and evidence are required to confirm the safety and feasibility of PLDH for full left and full right grafts on a broader scale.

BACKGROUND There are limited data on the use of glucose transport protein 1(GLUT-1)expre-ssion as a biomarker for predicting lymph node metastasis in patients with colorectal ***-1 and GLUT-3,hexokinase(HK)-II,and hypoxia-induced factor(HIF)-1 expressions may be useful biomarkers for detecting primary tumors and lymph node metastasis when combined with fluorodeoxyglucose(FDG)uptake on positron emission tomography/computed tomography(PET/CT).AIM To evaluate GLUT-1,GLUT-3,HK-II,and HIF-1 expressions as biomarkers for detecting primary tumors and lymph node metastasis with 18F-FDG-PET/*** This retrospective study included 169 patients with colorectal cancer who underwent colectomy and preoperative 18F-FDG-PET/CT at Chungbuk National University Hospital between January 2009 and May *** tissue cores from the central and peripheral areas of the tumors were obtained and were examined by a dedicated pathologist,and the expressions of GLUT-1,GLUT-3,HK-II,and HIF-1 were determined using immunohisto-chemical *** analyzed the correlations among their expressions,various clinicopathological factors,and the maximum standardized uptake value(SUVmax)of PET/*** GLUT-1 was found at the center or periphery of the tumors in 109(64.5%)of the 169 ***-1 positivity was significantly correlated with the SUVmax of the primary tumor and lymph nodes,regardless of the biopsy site(tumor center,P<0.001 and P=0.012;tumor periphery,P=0.030 and P=0.010,respectively).GLUT-1 positivity and negativity were associated with higher and lower sensitivities of PET/CT,respectively,for the detection of lymph node metastasis,regardless of the biopsy ***3,HK-II,and HIF-1 expressions were not significantly correlated with the SUVmax of the primary tumor and lymph *** GLUT-1 expression was significantly correlated with the SUVmax of 18F-FDG-PET/CT for primary tumors and lymph *** should consider GLUT-1 expression in preoperative endoscop
