As a promising fuel candidate,ammonia has been successtully used as anode feed in alkaline fuel ***,current technology in catalysts for ammonia electro-oxidation reaction(AOR)with respect to both cost and performance is inadequate to ensure large scale commercial application of direct ammonia fuel *** studies found that alloying Pt with different transition metals and controlling the morphology of catalysts can improve the AOR activity,and thus potentially can solve the cost ***,(100)-terminated Pt-M nanocubes(M=3d-transition metals Fe,Co,Ni,Zn)are synthesized via wet-chemistry method and their catalytic activities toward AOR are *** addition of Fe,Co,Ni and Zn elements can enhance the AOR activity due to decrease in oxophilicity of platinum and bifunctional ***-Zn exhibits the maximum mass activity and specific ativity with values of 0.41 A/mgpt and 169 mA/cm2 that are 1.6 and 1.8 times higher than Pt nanocubes,***-Fe,Pt-Co and PI-Ni nanocubes also ilustrate higher mass and specific activities compared to Pt nanocubes.

Direct acting antiviral(DAA)treatments may reduce the elevatedαfetoprotein(AFP),but data on how these treatments affect elevated AFP in patients with chronic hepatitis C(chC)remain *** the present study,the frequency of baseline AFP elevations and their related factors,AFP dynamics during and after DAA treatment,and factors associated with AFP reduction was *** retrospective study included 141 patients with chC without hepatocellular carcinoma who received DAA and achieved sustained virological *** details are as follows:mean post-treatment follow-up was 99 weeks(12–213);mean age,57.8 years old;52%,males;79%,genotype(GT)1;and 47%,***-treatment AFP elevation(>5.5 ng/mL)was seen in 48.2%*** multivariate analysis,baseline AFP>5.5 was associated with the presence of cirrhosis(P=0.001),co-existing non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)(P=0.035),and GT 1(P=0.029).AFP normalization was seen in 28.2%patients at treatment week 2,in 52%at the end of treatment,and in 73.4%at the end of ***-treatment week 24 AFP normalization was associated with the absence of cirrhosis(P=0.003),child--Pugh score chC and independently associated with NASH,cirrhosis,and GT *** treatment resulted in AFP normalization as early as treatment week ***-treatment week 24 AFP normalization is independently associated with the absence of cirrhosis,child--Pugh score<6,and baseline AFP<10.

As the technology of mobile devices spreads fast,the price of mobile devices is getting *** of the people have mobile devices,and these devices have the technology of near field communication（NFC）.With the long time development and research,the mobile devices use NFC technology on the payment and authentication applications,and replace the smartcard,the access control card,and the credit card by using the card emulation *** helps the development of NFC *** recent years,more and more users begin using NFC technology on mobile payment and *** researches have proposed the related NFC authentication protocols,but their schemes are still lack of some security properties and functions,which are necessary for NFC authentication *** this paper,we propose a secure and efficient NFC authentication scheme between two NFC devices by the help of the authentication server that provides mutual authentication.

Particulate matter,such as sediment and microplastics(MPs),in aqueous environments has comparable micro-interfacial ***,the micro-interfacial characteristics of heterogeneous particulate matter are complex and are not fully *** this study,micro-interfacial kinetics and the interactions governing copper(Cu) ion adsorption to PP-sediment were investigated using microinterfacial characterization experiments and kinetic experiments for Cu ion absorption to sediment,polypropylene(PP),and PP-sediment *** results show that(1) a pseudo-second-order model can be used to accurately describe the micro-interfacial kinetics of Cu ion adsorption to PP-sediment,indicating that chemical adsorption dominates the *** Cu,the adsorption capacity,qe,of PP-sediment is approximately 0.4808 mg/g,between that of sediment and PP.(2) Film diffusion is the rate-controlling process in the early adsorption *** diffusion gradually becomes the controlling process as the film diffusion constant(kfd) decreases and the film diffusion model becomes less applicable,but intraparticle diffusion is weaker in the PP-sediment system than in the sedimentonly system.(3) The applicability of the intraparticle diffusion model for Cu ion adsorption to PP-sediment in the later stage of adsorption is between that of the sediment and PP ***,the heterogeneous aggregation of sediment and PP affects the micro-interfacial interactions of both types of particulate *** current study contributes to a better understanding of the microinterfacial interactions of heterogeneous particulate matter(such as fine-grained sediment and MPs)with heavy metal ions in aqueous environments.

This paper presents the design, fabrication, and experimental characterization of a peristaltic micropump. The micropump is composed of two layers fabricated from Polydimethylsiloxane （PDMS） material. The first layer has a rectangular channel and two valve seals. Three rectangular mini lightweight piezo-composite actuators are integrated in the second layer, and used as actuation parts. Two layers are bonded, and covered by two Polymethyl Methacrylate （PMMA） plates, which help increase the stiffness of the micropump. A maximum flow rate of 900μ*** 1 and a maximum backpressure of 1.8 kPa are recorded when water is used as pump liquid. We measured the power consumption of the micropump. The micropump is found to be a promising candidate for bio-medical application due to its bio-compatibility, portability, bidirectionality, and simple effective design.

The solution of boundary value problems(BVP)for fourth order differential equations by their reduction to BVP for second order equations,with the aim to use the available efficient algorithms for the latter ones,attracts attention from many *** this paper,using the technique developed by the authors in recent works we construct iterative method for a problem with complicated mixed boundary conditions for biharmonic equation which is originated from nanofluidic *** convergence rate of the method is proved and some numerical experiments are performed for testing its dependence on a parameter appearing in boundary conditions and on the position of the point where a transmission of boundary conditions occurs.

Nonlinear stability of advanced sandwich cylindrical shells comprising porous functionally graded material and carbon nanotube reinforced composite layers under elevated temperature

The nonlinear stability of sandwich cylindrical shells comprising porous functionally graded material(FGM) and carbon nanotube reinforced composite(CNTRC)layers subjected to uniform temperature rise is investigated. Two sandwich models corresponding to CNTRC and FGM face sheets are proposed. Carbon nanotubes(CNTs) in the CNTRC layer are embedded into a matrix according to functionally graded distributions. The effects of porosity in the FGM and the temperature dependence of properties of all constituent materials are considered. The effective properties of the porous FGM and CNTRC are determined by using the modified and extended versions of a linear mixture rule, respectively. The basic equations governing the stability problem of thin sandwich cylindrical shells are established within the framework of the Donnell shell theory including the von K’arm’an-Donnell nonlinearity. These equations are solved by using the multi-term analytical solutions and the Galerkin method for simply supported *** critical buckling temperatures and postbuckling paths are determined through an iteration procedure. The study reveals that the sandwich shell model with a CNTRC core layer and relatively thin porous FGM face sheets can have the best capacity of thermal load carrying. In addition, unlike the cases of mechanical loads, porosities have beneficial effects on the nonlinear stability of sandwich shells under the thermal load. It is suggested that an appropriate combination of advantages of FGM and CNTRC can result in optimal efficiency for advanced sandwich structures.

Recycled concrete aggregate(RCA)derived from demolition waste has been widely explored for use in civil engineering *** of the promising strategies globally is to incorporate RCA into concrete ***,the use of RCA in high-performance concrete,such as self-consolidating concrete(SCC),has only been studied in the past *** paper summarizes recent publications on the use of coarse and/or fine RCA in *** expected,the high-water absorption and porous structure of RCA have posed challenges in producing a high-fluidity *** to an analysis of published data,a lower strength reduction(within 23%regardless of coarse RCA content)is observed in SCC compared with vibrated concrete,possibly due to the higher paste content in the SCC matrix,which enhances the weak surface layer of RCA and interfacial transition ***,SCC tends to become less durable with RCA substitution although the deterioration can be minimized by using treated RCA through removing or strengthening the adhered *** date,the information reported on the role of RCA in the long-term performance of SCC is still limited;thus,a wide range of research is needed to demonstrate the feasibility of RCA–SCC in field applications.
