Bilateral rehabilitation systems with bilateral or unilateral assistive robots have been developed for hemiplegia patients to recover their one-side ***,the compliant robotic assistance to promote bilateral inter-limb coordination remains a challenge that should be *** this paper,a biomimetic variable stiffness modulation strategy for the Variable Stiffness Actuator(VSA)integrated robotic is proposed to improve bilateral limb coordination and promote bilateral motor skills *** Electromyography(EMG)-driven synergy reference stiffness estimation model of the upper limb elbow joint is developed to reproduce the muscle synergy effect on the affected side limb by independent real-time stiffness ***,the bilateral impedance control is incorporated for realizing compliant patient-robot *** experiments were carried out to evaluate the tracking performance and investigate the multiple task intensities’influence on bilateral motor skills *** results evidence the proposed method could enable bilateral motor task skills relearning with wide-range task intensities and further promote bilateral inter-limb coordination.

The present study addressed the change in the microstructure of Al-2.5 wt%Fe binary alloy produced using laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)technique by thermal exposure at 300℃,and the associated mechanical and thermal properties were systematically examined as ***-semi-cylindrical patterns corresponding to melt pools in the microstructure were macroscopically observed for the asmanufactured *** change in the melt-pool morphology was observed after thermal exposure for1000 *** the melt pools,a large number of the nanoscale metastable Al6 Fe phase particles were uniformly distributed inside columnar grains of theα-Al matrix containing concentrated solute Fe in *** sequential formation and coarsening of stableθ-Al13 Fe4 phases were observed upon exposure to a 300℃ environment,but a considerable amount of nano-sized metastable Al6 Fe phases remained even after 1000 ***,the thermal exposure continuously reduced the concentration of solute Fe atoms in theα-Al *** significant grain growth was found inα-Al matrix after 1000 h owing to the pinning effect of the dispersed fine particles on grain boundary *** results demonstrate a sluggish change in microstructural morphologies of the Al-2.5 wt%Fe *** quantified microstructural parameters addressed dominant strengthening contributions by the solid solution of Fe element and Orowan strengthening mechanism by fine Al-Fe intermetallics in the L-PBF-produced *** high strength level was sustained even after being exposed to 300℃ for long *** superior balance of mechanical properties and thermal conductivity can be achieved in the experimental alloys by taking advantage of the various microstructural parameters related to the Al-Fe intermetallic phases andα-Al matrix.

Aluminum foils having thicknesses of 10-20 μm are commonly employed as current collectors for cathode electrodes in Li-ion batteries. The effects of the surface morphology of the foil on battery performance were investigated by using a foil with roughened surface by chemical etching and a plain foil with smooth surface on both sides. For high-conductivity LiCoO2 active materials with large particle size, there are no significant differences in battery performance between the two types of foils. But for low-conductivity LiFePO4 active materials with small particle size, high-rate discharge properties are significantly different. The possibility shows that optimizing both the surface morphology of the aluminum foil and particle size of active material leads to improvement of the battery performance.

Rutile （TiO2） is heavily used in pigments mid colormlts, mid the most abundmlt source of rutile is ilmeinte. Upon oxidation of ilmeinte, mtile cml be formed wiffl modest energy consumption; furfflermore, after leaching, only a few byproducts are formed. Unfortunate- ly, one drawback is file necessarily long oxidative process of typically used mefflods. In fflis study, we show fflat a fluidized bed reactor cml be used to oxidize ilmeinte ore to rapidly form ruffle mid pseudobrookite （Fe2TiOs） phases. Ilmeinte was oxidized wiffl 5vo1% 02 in Ar at temperatures of 1173 K or 1223 K mid subsequently leached using a diluted H2SO4 solution to dissolve file pseudobrookite phase. The effects of acid concentration, temperature, mid cooling rate after oxidation were investigated. We show fflat file ilmeinte was rapidly oxidized to form rutile mid pseudobrookite phases at 1173 mid 1223 K in a 5vo1% O2/95vo1% Ar environment wifflin 40 min. The fmal maximum mtile yield was 84.2mo1% after leaching in （1 ＋ 1） H2SO4 solution at 393 K for 12 h.

AIM To investigate the possible involvement of transient receptor potential vanilloid 1(TRPV1) in maturation of enteric glial cells(EGCs).METHODS Immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical techniques were used to analyze EGC markers in myenteric plexus(MP) as well as cultured MP cells and EGCs using TRPV1 knockout(KO) *** We detected TRPV1-immunoreactive signals in EGC in the MP of wild-type(WT) but not KO mice. Expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP) immunoreactive signals was lower at postnatal day(PD) 6 in KO mice, though the difference was not clear at PD 13 and PD 21. When MP cells were isolated and cultured from isolated longitudinal muscle-MP preparation from WT and KO mice, the yield of KO EGC was lower than that of WT EGC, while the yield of KO and WT smooth muscle cells showed no difference. Addition of BCTC, a TRPV1 antagonist, to enriched EGC culture resulted in a decrease in the protein ratio of GFAP to S100 B, another EGC/astrocyte-specific marker. CONCLUSION These results address the possibility that TRPV1 may be involved in the maturation of EGC, though further studies are necessary to validate this possibility.

Tenascin-C(TNC)is an adhesion modulatory protein present in the extracellular matrix that is highly expressed in several malignancies,including colon *** TNC is considered a negative prognostic factor for cancer patients,the substantial role of the TNC molecule in colorectal carcinogenesis and its malignant progression is poorly *** previously found that TNC has a cryptic functional site and that a TNC peptide containing this site,termed TNIIIA2,can potently and persistently activate *** contrast,the peptide FNIII14,which contains a cryptic bioactive site within the fibronectin molecule,can inactivate *** review presents the role of TNC in the development of colitis-associated colorectal cancer and in the malignant progression of colon cancer,particularly the major involvement of its cryptic functional site *** propose new possible prophylactic and therapeutic strategies based on inhibition of the TNIIIA2-induced beta1-integrin activation by peptide FNIII14.

ALG-2(a gene product of PDCD6) is a 22-kD protein containing five serially repetitive EF-hand structures and belongs to the penta-EF-hand(PEF) family,including the subunits of typical ***-2 is the most conserved protein among the PEF family members and its homologs are widely found in eukaryotes.X-ray crystal structures of various PEF proteins including ALG-2 have common features:presence of eightα-helices and dimer formation via paired EF5s that are positioned in anti-parallel ***-2 forms a homodimer and a heterodimer with its closest paralog *** calmodulin,a well-known four-EF-hand protein,ALG-2 interacts with various proteins in a Ca2+-dependent fashion,but the binding motifs are completely *** some exceptions,ALG-2-interacting proteins commonly contain Pro-rich regions,and ALG-2 recognizes at least two distinct Pro-containing motifs:PPYP(X) nYP(X,variable;n=4 in ALIX and PLSCR3) and PXPGF(represented by Sec31A) .A shorter alternatively spliced isoform,lacking two residues and designated ALG-2 GF122,does not bind ALIX but maintains binding capacity to Sec31A.X-ray crystal structural analyses have revealed that binding of calcium ions induces the configuration of the side chain of R125 so that it opens Pocket 1,which accepts PPYP,but Pocket 1 remains closed in the case of ALG-2 ***-2 dimer has two ligand-binding sites,each in a monomer molecule,and appears to function as a Ca2+-dependent adaptor protein to either stabilize a preformed complex or to bridge two proteins on scaffolds in systems of the endosomal sorting complex required for transport(ESCRT) and ER-to-Golgi transport.

A study on the ductile deformation domain of the brittle fault in the shallow level ofthe crust is a new probe field for the modern structural geology. Taking the southern Jiang-su Province area as an example the orientation measurement of quartz crystals, the com-positional texture observation of three pressure sensitive minerals and the rheological param-eter determination of dislocation densities, etc. have been demonstrated and analysed basedon typical samples in the present paper. In addition, their generation mechanisms arealso discussed from the cataclastic rheology, the dynamic differentiation and the simpleshearing, specially, from the Ode strength theory. Finally, a generative relationship betweenthe ductile deformation domain of the brittle fault system, in the regional layer--slip andthe formation of the stratabound ore deposit is shown as well.
