BACKGROUND Comprehensive genomic analysis has shown that small bowel adenocarcinoma(SBA)has different genomic profiles from gastric and colorectal ***,it is essential to establish chemotherapeutic regimens based on SBA *** expression of programmed cell death-ligand 1(PD-L1)and programmed cell death-ligand 2(PD-L2)in SBA is not fully ***-PD-L1/PD-1 therapy uses tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes(TILs);therefore,the status of TILs in the tumor microenvironment(TME)may influence their *** ratio of FoxP3+to CD8+T cells has been reported to be useful in predicting the prognosis of digestive system *** To investigate the clinicopathological significance of PD-L1/2 expression according to the status of TILs in SBA *** We performed immunohistochemical analysis for PD-L1,PD-L2,CD8,FoxP3,and DNA mismatch repair(MMR)proteins using formalin-fixed,paraffin-embedded tissues from 50 patients diagnosed with primary *** immunoreactivities of PD-L1 and PD-L2 were determined separately in tumor cells and tumor-infiltrating immune cells throughout the tumor center and invasive margins,and finally evaluated using the combined positive score(CPS).We assessed CD8+and FoxP3+T cells in the intratumoral and tumor-surrounding ***,we calculated and summed the ratio of FoxP3 to CD8+T cell ***-related cell densities were graded as low or *** results were compared with clinicopathological factors and patient *** distribution of cancer-specific survival(CSS)was estimated using the Kaplan–Meier method,and the log-rank test was used to test for significant differences in CSS.A Cox proportional hazard model was also used to assess the effect of tumor variables on *** PD-L1 expression was positive in 34%in tumor cells(T-PD-L1)and 54%in tumor-infiltrating immune cells(I-PDL1)of the cases examined.T-PD-L2 was positive in 34%and I-PD-L2 was positive in 42%of the ***-L1

We propose an ultrabroad-band 1R regenerator utilizing a multi-section quantum-dot semiconductor optical amplifier. Due to the reduced electron states, quantum dot is beneficial in broadening the gain spectrum and lowering the noise figure. Combining this with a multi-section structure drastically improves the gain equality among the different bound states, leading to an increase in the maximum output power and an improvement of the noise figure.

Introduction: A scanning acoustic microscope (SAM) is an apparatus for imaging acoustic properties. This apparatus can non-invasively and rapidly evaluate the hardness of materials in the elastic region. This device shows great potential for the diagnosis of dental caries in the clinical setting. However, since the tissue elastic modulus measured using a SAM is a property of the elastic region and the Knoop hardness is a property of the plastic region, the hardness properties differ completely. Therefore, we investigated whether the acoustic impedance measured using a SAM is related to the Knoop hardness, which is used as the standard for removal of carious dentin. Method: Polished sections were prepared from 20 extracted carious wisdom teeth. The acoustic impedance and Knoop hardness were measured for each section. In addition to comparing carious and healthy dentin in SAM images, we evaluated the difference between the carious and healthy dentin in terms of the acoustic impedance and Knoop hardness. We also evaluated the correlation between the Knoop hardness and acoustic impedance. Results: The SAM images were visualized as two-dimensional color images based on the acoustic impedance values. The mean acoustic impedance of carious dentin was significantly lower than that of healthy dentin, showing a similar trend as Knoop hardness. A strong correlation was observed between the two. Discussion: The acoustic impedance values obtained through acoustic microscopy differed significantly between carious and sound dentin. Both types of dentins were visualized using two-dimensional color images. A strong correlation was observed between the acoustic impedance value, which indicates the hardness of the elastic region, and the Knoop hardness, which indicates the hardness of the plastic region. The results of the present study indicate that acoustic impedance accurately reflects the hardness of dentin.

A Dependence of Crystallinity of In2O3 Thin Films by a Two-Step Heat Treatment of Indium Films on the Heating Atmosphere

A difference in crystallinity of In2O3 thin films on sapphire substrates by heat treatment of indium films was reported. Indium films were heated in an inert atmosphere or in air until they reached a specified temperature and then oxidized in air at much higher temperatures. Crystallinity of the In2O3 thin film which was heat-treated in air from room temperature was quite poor. On the other hand, narrow X-ray rocking curves of the In2O3 films were obtained when the temperature was increased in an inert atmosphere to a specified tem-perature.

对中国内蒙古自治区饲育马土壤环境中马红球菌的分布知之甚少;为此,在中国内蒙古通辽近郊、内蒙古南部锡林郭勒盟大草原、内蒙古东部呼伦贝尔大草原等马场共收集了108份土壤样品进行了马红球菌的检测。结果,锡林郭勒盟大草原和呼伦贝尔大草原的马红球菌分离率为25.9%～30.0%,通辽近郊土壤中分离率高达82.3%。这说明在通辽近郊马红球菌的分离菌数是草原土壤中马红球菌分离菌数的10倍。应用PCR技术检测了488株的毒力相关基因,相对分子质量分别为15000～17000(VapA)和20000(VapB)。所有的分离株都未检出毒力相关基因。这些无毒力分离株的质粒资料显示,各种大小的潜在质粒的发生率为13.3%～21.5%。本研究结果截然不同于我们新近对蒙古国的调查结论:马红球菌在蒙古国乌兰巴托的马群中不存在。造成这一差异的原因可能在于蒙古国的游牧生活和内蒙古的非游牧生活。

Development of Breakup Model for Large Eddy Simulation of Diesel Spray

Diesel spray is injected at high pressure. So, upper stream region of spray is high Weber number condition. However, even if the fuel is injected at high pressure, the downstream region of spray is corresponding to relatively low Weber number condition. Thus, KH （Kelvin-Helmholtz） model modeled for high Weber number conditions and MTAB （modified Taylor analogy breakup） model are used for primary and secondary breakup processes respectively. This study is focused on the development of new hybrid breakup model The calculations are performed by LES （large eddy simulation） incorporated into KIVA code. LES of non-evaporating diesel spray are performed using KH ＆ RT （Rayleigh-Taylor） model, MTAB model and KH-MTAB model. Then, LES with these models were compared with experimental results. As the result, the availability of KH-MTAB model is showed. It is found that KH-MTAB is good agreement with experimental results of penetration and SMD （Sauter mean diameter） in relatively low density conditions.

Collagen-Based Fuel Cell and Its Proton Transfer

We have fabricated the fuel cell based on the tissue derived biomaterial “collagen” and investigated its proton transfer. It was found that “collagen” becomes the electrolyte of fuel cell in the humidified condition. The power density of the fuel cell becomes typically 8.6 W/m2 in the 80% humidity. Further, these results indicate that collagen exhibits proton conductivity in the humidified condition. Both of proton conductivity and dielectric constant increase by the increase of humidity. From the analyses of the frequency dependence of AC conductivity, it was found that proton conductivity and the dielectric dispersion observed in the humidified condition are caused by the formation of the water bridge, which is bonded with the collagen peptide chain. Considering that hydration induces the formation of the water bridge and that increases proton conductivity and dielectric constant, it is deduced that proton transfer in the fuel cell based on collagen is caused by the breaking and rearrangement of hydrogen bond in the water bridge.

Saliva protein profiles to identify oral cancer patients

Background: Identification of new and more consistent biomarkers of Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is highlighted to improve early detection of disease and to screening of recurrence。Saliva meets the demand for non-invasive, accessible, and highly efficient diagnostic medium。Recently, the salivary transcriptome profiling can be applied to evaluate for oral cancer detection。Purpose: To determine whether a new proteomic technology could correctly identify protein expression profiles for cancer in patient saliva samples。Methods: Unstimulated saliva was collected from patients (n=16) with primary Tl/T20SCC at pre- and post-treatment。Surface-enhanced laser desorption /ionization time of flight-mass spectrometry (SELDI) ProteinChip system was used to screen for differentially expressed proteins in saliva from those samples。Protein peak clustering and classification analysis of SELDI data were performed using the Biomarker Wizard and Biomarker Patterns software, respectively。The different protein expression patterns were analyzed by a t-test comparison analysis。Results: ProteinChip analysis showed there were 26 proteins exhibited significantly different expression level in saliva between pre-and post treatment。Conclusion: The utility of salivary ProteinChip diagnostics in this study indicates that this clinical approach may allow for the development of a reliable screening test for the early detection of OSCC, as well as the potential identification of the candidate of tumor markers in saliva。We identified the candidate of new biomarker from saliva, which differently expressed at pre- and post- treatment。

As a serine hydrolase,monoacylglycerol lipase(MAGL) is principally responsible for the metabolism of 2-arachidonoylglycerol(2-AG) in the central nervous system(CNS),leading to the formation of arachidonic acid(AA).Dysfunction of MAGL has been associated with multiple CNS disorders and symptoms,including neuroinflammation,cognitive impairment,epileptogenesis,nociception and neurodegenerative *** of MAGL provides a promising therapeutic direction for the treatment of these conditions,and a MAGL positron emission tomography(PET) probe would greatly facilitate preclinical and clinical development of MAGL ***,we design and synthesize a small library of fluoropyridyl-containing MAGL inhibitor *** evaluation of these candidates by activity-based protein profiling identified 14 as a lead compound,which was then radiolabeled with fluorine-18 via a facile SNAr reaction to form 2-[^(18)F]fluoropyridine *** blood-brain barrier permeability and high in vivo specific binding was demonstrated for radioligand [^(18)F]14(also named as [^(18)F]MAGL-1902).This work may serve as a roadmap for clinical translation and further design of potent 18F-labeled MAGL PET tracers.
