This paper attempts to resolve the reported contradiction in the literature about the characteristics of high-performance/cost-effective fenestration of residential buildings,particularly in hot *** considered issues are the window glazing property(ten commercial glazing types),facade orientation(four main orientations),window-to-wall ratio(WWR)(0.2–0.8),and solar shading overhangs and side-fins(nine shading conditions).The results of the simulated runs reveal that the glazing quality has a superior effect over the other fenestration parameters and controls their effect on the energy consumption of residential ***,using low-performance windows on buildings yields larger effects of WWR,facade orientation,and solar shading than high-performance *** the WWR increases from 0.2 to 0.8,the building energy consumption using the low-performance window increases 6.46 times than that using the highperformance *** best facade orientation is changed from north to south according to the glazing *** addition,the solar shading need is correlated as a function of a window-glazing property and *** cost analysis shows that the high-performance windows without solar shading are cost-effective as they have the largest net present cost compared to lowperformance windows with or without solar ***,replacing low-performance windows with high-performance ones,in an existing residential building,saves about 12.7 MWh of electricity and 11.05 tons of CO_(2) annually.

Following the original approach of Bowden and Tabor and introducing state variables, an effective friction coefficient μ_e for solid particle erosion is defined as a combination of shearing term and ploughing term. In the case of continuous sliding, based on considering the interaction between asperities under certain condition, it is indicated that during the oblique impact of a hardened steel sphere against a mild steel target, a possible value of μ_e is 0.05, which was chosen in all of the calculations by Hutchings for consistency with both experiments and calculations. In the case of continuous ploughing, it is shown that the value of μ_e is a function of the impact process and the initial impact angle and is greater than 0.05 on an average for Hutchings' experiments. It is suggested that the variation of sliding, rolling and ploughing state at each instant in the impact process makes “the coefficient of friction” equal to 0.05 for Hutchings' experiments, and in general, makes the effective friction coefficient during particle impact on metal far less than the friction coefficient during simple continuous sliding on an average.

Level schemes for the neutron-rich ^(140,143)Ba nuclei have been determined by study of promptγ-rays in spontaneous fission of ^(252)*** level pattern and enhanced E1 transitions betweenπ=+andπ=-bands show reflection asymmetric shapes with simplex quantum number s=+1 in ^(140)Ba and s=±i in ^(143)Ba,*** octupole deformation stability with spin variation has been discussed.

Objective:To analyse the laboratory surveillance data from 2004 till 2008 to examine the changing trend of rubella cases in ***:Samples for this study were either received through the measles case based surveillance program or were hospital cases received for sero-diagnosis of congenital rubella syndrome(CRS). Specific rubella IgM antibody test was carried out on all samples that were negative for measles IgM antibody and for sero-diagnosis of ***:Through the surveillance program for measles,the samples received for rubella had increased five fold from 365 in 2004 to 1 522 in *** rubella cases detected had also increased from 4.1%in 2004 to 33.2%in *** age group 11 to 20 years accounted for 73.6%of rubella cases confirmed in 2008,with a higher incidence among males than *** rubella IgM was detected in 25 CRS cases during the 6 year period between January 2003 and December ***:The measles elimination program had contributed to significant progress in the control of rubella,with the majority of rubella cases detected through this *** rubella is not notifiable in Malaysia,this integrated measles and rubella surveillance should be ***,to enhance the progress,specific targets should also be established in the national program to eliminate rubella and CRS.

Present-day conditions of the Lake kenon ecosystem are determined by a combination of natural and anthropogenic factors. We have estimated the effects of a complex of factors on the condition of the abiotic environment and on specific biological components in the lake ecosystem. Change in biogenic load has caused an increase in the role of phytoplankton in the general balance of organic matter during the high-water period. Charophytes are the main dominants of bottom vegetation. Anthropogenic load has caused a decrease in both fish species and fish capacity. The lake application as a water reservoir-cooler has influenced the average annual water mineralization （from 420 mg/L to 530.0 mg/L with a maximum 654 mg/L in 1993） and fluctuations in its hydrochemical composition. The present composition of the lake is sulfate-hydrocarbonate-chloride calcium-sodic-magnesium in character. S（Y44 content is twice as much as the maximum permissible concentration in fishery waters. Water drainage from an ash disposal area to the lake has caused an increase in chemical-element concentrations including the heavy metals. Hg concentration in Perca fluviatilis muscles is 0.5 9g/g dry wt. Thus, understanding directions in the ecosystem of the water reservoir-cooler under changing hydrological conditions will let us forecast the consequences of new combined heat and power plant operation.
