RASSFIA Promoter Hypermethylation as a Prognosis and Diagnosis for Breast Cancer in Vietnamese Population

Aberrant tumor suppressor gene promoter methylation was associated with the several cancers, including breast cancer, which was the common female deaths in most countries involved in Vietnam. The methylation in tumor suppressor genes, including RASSFIA, were the key targets of establishing the potential biomarkers for prognosis and early diagnosis of breast cancer. In present study, with the aim towards using the hypermethylation at CpG islands of promoter of RASSFIA as the biomarker for breast cancer in Vietnamese population, MSP （methyl specific PCR） was carried out to analyze the hypermethylation status ofRASSFIA gene in 115 samples including 95 breast cancer specimens and 20 normal breast tissues from another disease （not breast cancer）. All samples were obtained from Ho Chi Minh City Medical Hospital, Vietnam. The known predictive and prognostic factors： HER2/neu overexpression was immunohistochemistry stained as input value for breast cancer specimens. For input value confirmed, the overexpression of p53 protein was also analyzed together with prior immunochemical assay. The results indicated that the hypermethylation of frequencies for methylation of given gene reached 42.1% （P 〈 0.05）. In addition, the DNA hypermethylation of RASSFIA gene increased the possibility to be breast cancer with high incidence via calculated of odd ratio （P 〈 0.05）. In conclusion, the hypermethylation of candidate genes could be used as the promising biomarkers applying in Vietnamese breast cancer patients.

The metal-organic framework(MOF)derived Ni–Co–C–N composite alloys(NiCCZ)were“embedded”inside the carbon cloth(CC)strands as opposed to the popular idea of growing them upward to realize ultrastable energy storage and conversion *** NiCCZ was then oxygen functionalized,facilitating the next step of stoichiometric sulfur anion diffusion during hydrothermal sulfurization,generating a flower-like metal hydroxysulfide structure(NiCCZOS)with strong partial implantation inside *** obtained NiCCZOS shows an excellent capacity when tested as a supercapacitor electrode in a three-electrode ***,when paired with the biomass-derived nitrogen-rich activated carbon,the asymmetric supercapacitor device shows almost 100%capacity retention even after 45,000 charge–discharge cycles with remarkable energy density(59.4 Wh kg^(-1)/263.8μWh cm^(–2))owing to a uniquely designed ***,the same electrode performed as an excellent bifunctional water-splitting electrocatalyst with an overpotential of 271 mV for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and 168.4 mV for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)at 10 mA cm−2 current density along with 30 h of unhinged chronopotentiometric stability performance for both HER and ***,a unique metal chalcogenide composite electrode/substrate configuration has been proposed as a highly stable electrode material for flexible energy storage and conversion applications.

Environmental pollution,such as water contamination,is a critical issue that must be absolutely ***,three different morphologies of tungsten-based photocatalysts(WO_(3)nanorods,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanobricks,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods)are made using a simple hydrothermal method by changing the solvents(H_(2)O,DMF,aqueous HCl solution).The as-prepared nanocatalysts have excellent thermal stability,large porosity,and high *** results show all materials have good photocatalytic activity in aqueous media,with WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods(NRs)having the best activity in the photodegradation of bisphenol A(BPA)under visible-light *** may originate from increased migration of charge carriers and effective prevention of electron–hole recombination in WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs,whereby this photocatalyst is able to generate more reactive·OH and·O_(2)^(–)species,leading to greater photocatalytic *** 99.6% of BPA is photodegraded within 60 min when using 1.5 g/L WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs and 5.0 mg/L BPA at pH ***,the optimal conditions(pH,catalyst dosage,initial BPA concentration)for WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs are also elaborately *** rod-like heterostructures are expressed as potential catalysts with excellent photostability,efficient reusability,and highly active effectivity in different types of *** particular,the removal efficiency of BPA by WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs reduces by only 1.5% after five recycling runs and even reaches 89.1%in contaminated lake *** study provides promising insights for the nearly complete removal of BPA from wastewater or different water resources,which is advantageous to various applications in environmental remediation.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness of cycling in combination with electroacupuncture in treatment of poststroke hemiplegia patients at National Hospital of Acupuncture,***:The study was designed as a single-centre,outcome-assessor-blinded parallel randomised controlled trial with 120 post-stroke hemiplegia patients randomly assigned into two groups:electroacupuncture plus cycling(CT group) and electroacupuncture(AT group).Patients were assessed before and after the treatment(using muscle grading,modified Rankin,Barthel,Orgorozo scores and electromyography).Statistical Man–Whitney U test,and Fisher’s exact tests were used to compare between CT and AT ***:The results reported statistically significant improvement in motor function in patients suffering from hemiplegia following ischemic stroke in both CT and AT *** in CT group experienced a greater improvement compared to those in AT group including better muscle contraction(increased frequency and amplitude of electromyography and increased muscle grading scale);increased recovery(Orgogozo scale),increased independency(Barthel scale) and decreased disability(Modified Rankin scale)(P < 0.01).CONCLUSIONS:Combination with cycling training significantly improves the recovery of post-stroke patients treated with electroacupuncture.

SVC bitstream adaptation in MPEG-21 multimedia framework

Scalable video coding (SVC) is the most promising video format for applications of collaborative communication. MPEG-21 standard has newly emerged to enable the interoperability of multimedia delivery in heterogeneous environments. In this paper we study adaptation of SVC bitstream in the context of MPEG-21 multimedia framework. For interfacing SVC bit- stream with MPEG-21 based adaptation system, we propose three SVC specific adaptation operators. Based on our previous work with multidimensional video adaptation, we present an effective approach, using MPEG-21 DIA AdaptationQoS description tool, to model QoS control for SVC adaptation. Then we show how the operator values could be computed from that representation. For the actual adaptation at bitstream level, we propose a procedure to remove the unnecessary NAL units from an SVC bitstream. The result of this study enables QoS management of SVC streaming in an efficient and standardized manner.

Stable Vertical Takeoff of an Insect-Mimicking Flapping-Wing System Without Guide Implementing Inherent Pitching Stability

We briefly summarized how to design and fabricate an insect-mimicking flapping-wing system and demonstrate how to implement inherent pitching stability for stable vertical takeoff. The effect of relative locations of the Center of Gravity （CG） and the mean Aerodynamic Center （AC） on vertical flight was theoretically examined through static force balance considera- tion. We conducted a series of vertical takeoff tests in which the location of the mean AC was determined using an unsteady Blade Element Theory （BET） previously developed by the authors. Sequential images were captured during the takeoff tests using a high-speed camera. The results demonstrated that inherent pitching stability for vertical takeoff can be achieved by controlling the relative position between the CG and the mean AC of the flapping system.

Flexible Wing Kinematics of a Free-Flying Beetle （Rhinoceros Beetle Trypoxylus Dichotomus）

Detailed 3-Dimensional （3D） wing kinematics was experimentally presented in free flight of a beetle, Trypoxylus dichotomus, which has a pair of elytra （forewings） and flexible hind wings. The kinematic parameters such as the wing tip trajectory, angle of attack and camber deformation were obtained from a 3D reconstruction technique that involves the use of two synchronized high-speed cameras to digitize various points marked on the wings. Our data showed outstanding characteristics of deformation and flexibility of the beetle＇s hind wing compared with other measured insects, especially in the chordwise and spanwise directions during flapping motion. The hind wing produced 16% maximum positive camber deformation during the downstroke. It also experienced twisted shape showing large variation of the angle of attack from the root to the tip during the upstroke.

Effect of Wing Kinematics Modulation on Aerodynamic Force Generation in Hovering Insect-mimicking Flapping-wing Micro Air Vehicle

We investigated the effect of wing kinematics modulation, which was achieved by adjusting the location of trailing-edge constraint at the wing-root, i.e., by adjusting the wing-root offset, on the generation of aerodynamic forces in a hovering in- sect-mimicking Flapping-Wing Micro Air Vehicle （FW-MAV） by numerical and experimental studies. Three-dimensional wing kinematics measured using three synchronized high-speed cameras revealed a clear difference in the wing rotation angle of a wing section for different wing-root offsets. The extrapolated wing kinematics were in good agreement with the measured ones for various wing-root offsets. The Unsteady Blade Element Theory （UBET） was used to estimate the forces generated by the flapping wings and validated by comparison with results of measurements performed using a load cell. Although the thrust produced by a flapping wing with a wing-root offset of 0.20 c was about 4% less, its force-to-input-power ratio was about 30% and 10% higher than those with the offsets of 0.10 c and 0.15 c, respectively. This result could be explained by analyzing the effective Angle of Attack （AoA） and the force components computed by the UBET. Thus, a flapping wing with a wing-root offset of 0.20 c can be regarded as an optimal twist configuration for the development of the FW-MAV.

The Cumulus Cells and Oocytes: A Systematic Review of Extended Culture for Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection

Currently-placed protocols for extended culture for in vitro fertilization(IVF)and intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI)are not uniformly standardized in determining the optimal stage of oocyte maturation for maximizing clinical *** objective of this systematic review is to elucidate the relationship between extended cumulus-oocyte culture and its effect on the clinical outcomes of IVF/*** included an electronic search on PubMed Central as well as the Journal of Fertility and Sterility to yield seven studies on extended oocyte culture for IVF/*** of the seven investigations illustrate the promising beneficial relationship of extended culture with conditioned or supplemented media to mimic physiological uterine *** studies did not capture beneficial relationships between extended oocyte culture and clinical outcomes with unconditioned,unsupplemented maturation *** in fertilization rates,oocyte development,and live birth rates may be achieved by extended culture with the addition of supplemental *** usage of follicular fluid,cumulus cells,and meiotic inhibitors imitates the physiological in vivo conditions,whereas extended oocyte culture imitates in vivo temporal *** conjunction of extended oocyte culture with supplemented metabolites,either added in maturation media manually or secreted by cumulus-oocyte complexes,mimics natural uterine physiological conditions to improve clinical outcomes for patients seeking IVF/ICSI.

Rest Thallium-201/Stress Technetium-99m Sestamibi Dual-Isotope Myocardial Perfusion Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography in Detecting of Chronic Coronary Artery Disease

To investigate diagnostic accuracy of 2-hour protocol of rest thallium-201/stress technetium-99m sestamibi dual-isotope myocardial perfusion SPECT in chronic coronary artery disease. Sixty-seven patients with suspected CAD were enrolled in the prospective study. All patients underwent myocardial perfusion scintigraphy in SPECT with dual isotopes of T1-201 and dipyridamole stress Tc-99m sestamibi. Rest and stress imaging protocol were performed in 2 hours by dose of 3 mCi TI-201 and 25 mCi Tc-99m sestamibi. The acquisition parameters includes LEHR collimator, energy peak of 72 and 167 keV for T1-201 and 140 keV for Tc-99m, 180-degree rotation from RAO to LPO, matrix size 64x64, and 25second/frame/64 frames. The 20-segment model of left ventricle was used in automatic quantitation software. Coronary angiography was used as gold standard. CAD was defined as 50% of lumen stenosis on coronary angiography. Rest TI-201/stress tc-99m sestamibi dual-isotope SPECT demonstrated a sensitivity of 94.59% and specificity of 70%, positive predictive value of 79.54% and negative predictive value of 91.3% in detection of coronary artery disease. Sensitivity and specificity for detecting multi-vessel coronary artery disease were 82.75% and 81.57% for the left anterior descending, 77.77% and 91.83% for left circumflex and 94.11% and 82% for right coronary artery. 2-hour protocol of rest thallium-201/stress technetium-99m sestamibi dual-isotope myocardial perfusion SPECT has high sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value in detecting chronic coronary artery disease with greater than 50% stenosis assessed by coronary angiography Moreover, this imaging protocol gives high imaging quality, time-saving and convenience.
